I'm a Bible Baptist, a PK, actually. But the argument that says: John the Baptist is a Baptist and since he baptized Jesus, then He is a Baptist as well is wrong. Obviously based on the argument that if you were baptized by a Catholic, then you're a Catholic; if you're baptized by an INC, then you're an INC member. But I found this to be somewhat erroneous because to say that Jesus is a Baptist just because a Baptist baptized Him, then that means that there is already a Baptist religion BEFORE even Jesus built the church! Notice: 1. Jesus was the founder of the church. 2. If John the Baptist is a Baptist, then do you mean he already is a member of the Baptist church? 3. If your answer is YES, then why would he be a member of the Baptist church when the Bible tells us that Christ built the church AFTER John, NOT BEFORE John. So obviously, a "YES" answer is wrong. 4. If your answer is NO, then you're saying he's not a Baptist. This is the problem that I have with this argument. So I don't buy it though since I was a kid I've been told that same argument over and again, but now that I have thoroughly thought about it, it just doesn't make sense. I'm a Bible Baptist, a PK, actually. But the argument that says: John the Baptist is a Baptist and since he baptized Jesus, then He is a Baptist as well is wrong. Obviously based on the argument that if you were baptized by a Catholic, then you're a Catholic; if you're baptized by an INC, then you're an INC member.
But I found this to be somewhat erroneous because to say that Jesus is a Baptist just because a Baptist baptized Him, then that means that there is already a Baptist religion BEFORE even Jesus built the church!
Notice:
1. Jesus was the founder of the church.
2. If John the Baptist is a Baptist, then do you mean he already is a member of the Baptist church?
3. If your answer is YES, then why would he be a member of the Baptist church when the Bible tells us that Christ built the church AFTER John, NOT BEFORE John. So obviously, a "YES" answer is wrong.
4. If your answer is NO, then you're saying he's not a Baptist.
This is the problem that I have with this argument. So I don't buy it though since I was a kid I've been told that same argument over and again, but now that I have thoroughly thought about it, it just doesn't make sense.
So if someone could explain it to me what I'm missing, I'm willing to listen. Thank you!

Patrick Padilla Jesus is our Sacrificial Lamb or Atonement for Salvation not Denomination including Independent Baptist so therefore his Salvation that he offer is for all of us so therefore Salvation is not based on Religion or even denomination. Remember Religion or denomination are by man so therefore there is no perfect church. And Jesus came here on earth for all the sinners not for all the saints, religious person including Baptist.The relationahip of Jesus Christ is more important than to become a Religious Person.
