Really enjoyed this and got me quickly up and running with my X8 today! So i laid down acoustic guitar using built-in mics on tracks 1-2 with small hall reverb and it sounded great. The reverb was printed with the track and permanent and that is fine. I then routed the built-in mics to tracks 3-4 and only armed track 3 for mono lead vocal. I could no longer get reverb on the vocal track. Am i missing something here? Thx!!

You are awesome. Learned lots in a few minutes. Wish I could talk to you for five minutes. I got a couple questions. You have the best video.

Very informative. I received a TASCAM PORTACAPTURE 8X as a gift and wanted to know how to overdubb tracks, my most desired feature.

You really saved me some dough here. I imagined myself using this and the romance of it all. There’s a few limitations similar to an old boss BR8 if you remember those. I really appreciate you’re channel and you really seem interested in your subject matter. Great ideal to cover what you like. I’ll be checking out your other videos. Till then you have a fan and I’ll see what I can do to share these vids around.

Hey, tha ka so much for your comment. I'm glad the video helped you. I have never used the BR8 but know about the product. Some friends had one, ya know. Gear travels. Anyway, I always preferred.. nothing really. Well, other than the tascam portastufios (dpo8) stuff like that. They were good and small, but limited. I never got into the Tape thing, but probably could have had I thought about it. I always thought the Zoom products would be helpful too, but they didn't really work out either. I was hopeful for the X8. It almost works. You just can't bounce tracks among other things. They really could have worked something better for the price. The recording part is great. The files and versatility for field recordings, but for the musician, For a guitarist, It's kind of a struggle. However, you can do it like I demonstrated here. The video was a lot longer at first- almost 40 minutes. I really step through the entire process and gave my thoughts at every point. But then, I realized the attention span of most of my audience, and just cut it down to the barebones. I might do a live one day on how that works, but if you know, you know. Thanks for your thoughts, hope to see you around.
