He's one of the most underrated pianists of all time. His recordings of Tombeau de Couperin and Petrushka are definitive. A true giant with real personality in his playing.
I´m a cellist but his technique inspired me to develop the elasticity, flexibility and relaxation of my hands. And he also inspired me to create music in every piece I play. Thak you Maestro!
Thank you for posting this -- WOW!

Touched
best short Cadenza after Horowitz
perfettamente d'accordo!
I agree. I think he could have taken a little bit more time with it, but spectacular, no doubt. BTW, loved the camera direction. Plenty of chances to see the hand position.
Where is the cadenza? (00.00)
(12:15 Cadenza)
Hommage. --
This is my favourite Rach 3! An approach that is more analytical than most.
absolutely fantastic!!
Never heard this guy's version before and although I prefer the ossia cadenza the sheer musicianship, technical style and power are awesome. Different aspects of the music are brought out and it's not just a "see what a good technician I am" exercise. The ensemble between soloist, orchestra and conductor is - in the most complimentary sense - chamber-music like! These guys are 'listening' to each other!
The shorter cadenza is the better one.😊🎹🎼🎶
Great pianist composer and Director, I love this concert its the most Griselda Ghilarducci
amazing..
Superb...equal in its own way to the Horowitz recordings.
Strepitoso....
