She can still sing very good with all the high notes! Like at the Tiny desk concert. I saw her at the Meltdown festival when she did the KlassiKhan album with orchestra and it was out of this world so good! She got a 8 minute standing ovation. So don’t judge on a lesser performance.
I agree. People are so harsh and negative with their criticisms of her and when she doesn’t sing like they want they start with the drug rumors or bash her. I saw her in Chicago in April and she was INCREDIBLE. The Tiny Desk and Meltdown performances were also good. Shes’s 71 and STILL can do her thing.

I’m still not sure why Entertainers don’t find another, simpler way to STILL be Active, yet RELAX more into their “Golden” years. Perhaps, like many, they didn’t secure a sufficient ‘NEST-EGG’ for their future, so they find themselves out here STILL having to work??,idk. But whatever it is, Tired?, Voice changed?, looks going, going, gone?, …..they goin’ STAY!, even if they have to crawl up on that stage… It’s who they are. GOD bless you Chaka!.

If you noticed after she did that awesome tiny desk performance she couldn't get out of there fast enough...in order to properly perform she had to be somewhat sober so once she saw she could go get her fix she was out of there shes used since the 1970s so it has to be hard to quit.
I think she's on and off about it. Probably has more days she's not using than she does. At least she's honest about it and not sugarcoating it. She's tried to get clean so it's obviously something she knows is not good for her. That's why I say she's probably on and off using.

That these people are just like us 💡🤔 . That they ARE NOT super human ! Nor are they Immortal . . . If we go back . And look at her . When she was in her prime . She was the Beyonce of her day 💡🤔 ! Well that time has passed . So now we get . To appreciate her , for all that she's done . By celebrating her and showing her love ! And just being happy that she's still with us ! And still has the heart & mind . To come out and perform for us .

No I do not like this. I know she can hit certain notes that only Chaka can do, but in my opinion if you can’t perform at a decent level, stop! Certain artist still can. Gladys, Patti LaBelle, Smokey, etc. Their singing is not necessarily the same as when they were young, but acceptable. This is not!
Sorry to say this but she sounds like she is drunk let’s be real now ,,, but the music lives on when the ability fails B real she is off key and her words are like she took to manny shots again listen .. l love her to much to sacrifice her former brilliance she should fade with shine and glitter that becomes her

I thought she has stopped using. Especially, after Prince passed. She was amazing on NPR's "Tiny Desk" concert.
