Lord, these missions are such a pain in the butt!!!!!!! I thought this would be a quick side trip from doing the U.C Vanguard but NOoOoO Gotta do all this annoying pirate nonsense instead, not allowed to shoot any pirates until the quest line is done (who was alive to report back?!? I thought FTL communications weren't a thing?!?) So you miss on doing quests that don't screw you over for money, your pockets slowly drain from all the annoying bargaining you have to do, and if you mess any of it up, Sys Def gets mad! >.< I signed on to be a soldier, not get dragged into days and days of boring annoying bullsh*t.
It is possible to do this mission without paying anybody. It's not easy, but it can be done. For one, you don't have to pay 4K credits in order to get to the VIP lounge. You can go through the vent system. And the guy who asks you for money in the street when you first arrive, you can decline to give him any, as IGN did in this video. If you're sneaky enough and go through the vents, you can get away with a little more credits in loot than you started out with. But the real cash comes when you complete the mission line, whether or not you choose to side with the Crimson Fleet or with the UC Vanguard.
With Bayu I told him it was me. He told me the security would be discovering a body with evidence linking the crime to me. I wish there was a threaten option. "I like that idea. The body will be that of Benjamin Bayu."
