I don't know if that used to be a lyric in an old version of Bottom, or if the guy he was staring at in the crowd decided to break eye contact with him. You can definitely bet that there weren't any hecklers in early Tool shows...

I saw them two months later at the Ranch Bowl in Omaha. There were probably about 100-200(?) people in attendance. It was an insane, intense show. They opened for the Rollins Band. A friend and I talked to Henry for a few minutes as he was just sitting there watching everyone in line for the show. I remember a big skinhead stagedove and no one caught him. He landed on his head and blood was pouring down his face. Paul was literally beating people off the stage with his bass and Maynard was swinging his mic around like a lunatic. Bought a cd and TOOL shirt with the dick wrench on the back. Mom loooved that shirt. I was 16, it was awesome.
If you get a chance check out the Viagra Boys live. That show was killer. Took my son to the Denver show last year. There are still bands putting out great stuff.
+7noS SS373dOH okay lol, cause I was gonna say if I was a poser I don't think I'd be listening to this version of a song that most tool "fans" don't even know exist haha

Okay, Everything was kick ass about this.
I'm really curious if he actually locked eyes with anyone, and if they genuinely feared for their life at all.
That person went home and did the job themselves. Rather it be that way then have Maynard's stare be the last thing you ever saw,
No...he's just a musician putting a show on. And he's 140 lbs soaking wet here
You Mean Blessed?
He’s probably staring at the wall behind everyone. I’ve read he used to get nervous performing in the beginning.

Maynardo was a sight unseen...
I prefer long haired Maynard over bald version, appearance wise, the singing and lyrics are always top notch.
true
Marc DiPinto Think he looks very very cool in this style(img11.deviantart.net/a905/i/2007/251/d/6/maynard_james_keenan_iv_by_kidarte.jpg)

Maynard James Keenan, The master of starring an audience the fuck down...
That scream in the beginning was ridiculous, that one scream took at least two years off his singing voice lol.
Yes
Early maynard had the greatest metal voice ever. Could sound like an angel melodically and rip your fucking eyes out with his screams.

they matured into something more than another angry metal band.
