I love Shinedown's harder rock songs too but some of their softer songs hit so hard. Beautiful stuff
Oh most definitely. I love the soft a little bit more because that's actually how they got their number one hit from. Plus they do so well with it. Glad they keep the soft in almost every album. It's perfect. It plays so well and it really hits hard and makes you feel motivated. I'm inspired by these guys so much.

Well yeah their softer songs are much better. They have so much meaning. Not taking anything away from their other songs. Shinedown is my favorite band.
When I write music, the more complex songs I make don't get recognized as much (even if the musical layers are lineal and obscure and badass) However when i write a 3 or 4 chord driving rock song i usually tend to feel like its going to suck but i get a much better response from people and I think it's because people can relate better. I'm not sure if more people pay attention to lyrics or the music itself. I like to make music without words first and whatever thought or memory it brings me, I will nickname that song or progression in my notebook and come back to it later (sometimes years later).... I always wonder if certain bands write music parts first and then later or write lyrics to those parts. If you're into solo guitarists at all. Check out Vinnie Moore, albums- Minds Eye, Defying gravity, The Maze. All 3 of them are amazing and I like his slower music as well... Do it you won't be sorry xD
It's weird, all the problems I've been threw since I started listening to you guys in 2008. It feels like you guys have gone threw all of them with me lol. Wish I could afford to go see you guys in concert. All the money I work my hands to the bone for goes to bills. I suppose, right now, youtube will have to do lol. I wanna see you live so bad though.

Totally understand, in all aspects. Shinedown has been there for me and literally kept my head above they write 100% raw, and real. I've never seen them in concert. But their music keeps me going. God bless them and you as well..

Wasn't able to comment the first time I heard this but this one struck something in me so hard that I wasn't able to get through the first two lines without bursting into tears. This song is just that good. This band has done so much for me since I started listening to them. Gotten me through so much shit. From second chance to a symptom of being human, man, this band has taught me so damn much.

I use this song as a little pep talk for myself every time I start feeling sad. Now, while I haven't gone through the hell some of you have, I recently lost my only friend, my cat Snake. He's in the profile picture. He wasn't even 1 yet when he disappeared into the woods behind my house. Long story short, I didn't think I was giving enough attention and I thought, "I should've given him more love and he wouldn't have run off. He would've felt loved and stayed with me. It's my fault." This all went down a couple weeks ago. Shinedown and my family have helped me so much, and I just want to say thank you. Also, if you're still reading, thank you, too, for listening to my story. And to anyone suffering, just know that you WILL get through this. I'm supporting all of you out there.â€âđ©č

I just learned that technoblade, a mc CZcamsr that I very much liked and which personality was so refreshing between the thousands of others that are basically the same with a different voice behind them, has died. And this song gave me some kind of comfort. So thank you shinedown :)

There are other throwbacks as well, like the lyrics of âstaring down the barrel of a 45â. The whole album is a great concept album, and perfect balance between old and new. This band writes in real time to capture what weâre all going through as times change. Itâs wonderful and I hope they can keep it up

These last few songs from you guys have REALLY resonated with me. Lost my father last year, am a massive introvert and trying to support my mother who is a massive extrovert with some mental issues, and am so depressed and wondering if I even have a place in this world. Several of the most recent songs (in particular "Dysfunctional You", this one, and Daylight) feel like they've just been made for me. Having a real hard time seeing any kind of light at the end of the tunnel but you guys do help.
