Just found your channel yesterday after installing TrueNas Scale and not being able to get plex to work. Everything else I found gave me wrong information, but your video showed the right way to fix it. Looking forward to going through your vids and adding more functionality to my nas.
While you can use Prowlarr this way, it is more of a replacement for Jackett. You connect Radarr, Lidarr, Sonarr and a Readarr to it using the api key and let those services search. Prowlarr is mainly used as an indexer. I also recommend running it behind a bon as well so The Man can’t see what you are indexing. Great stuff though.
@@LoResDIY can i do this through proxmox with truenass im new to this but just trying to get everything down to just 1 rig and setup im new to this stuff
This is really handy, but the biggest downside to this method for me is the download location of the files. I have qbittorrent and plex setup and just copy links over and manually set the download location to either Tv Shows, Movies etc so that all plex has to do is scan and the media will have been downloaded to the correct place without me needing to move files. Is there an easier way to do this so im not manually typing in the folder path in qbittorent for each link?
question for you. First of all thanks for the vid's they have helped me alot getting this NAS up and running. I am running into issues when downloading and the fiels are .rar files. I have to turn on SMB for my media folder then upack them, then move then to the right folder. i have found a app in truecharts called "unpackerr" and from what i have read on it it will unpack the files of the monitored dataset and hand it off the Sonarr/Radarr/Lidarr with the unpacked file. then delete the .rar's. But...... when i install it and put the host folder ad the /Media it does not do anything. can you help me out?

Hey! really cool video, the only thing that am having a problem with is the indexers inside prowlarr. It only displays 82 indexers available and only 6 public ones (missing 1337x , the pirate bay. etc ) am currently in greece idk if thats a problem and i will need a vpn Any ideas?
Prowlarr works fine for me set up without a vpn but if I add the vpn to the prowlarr app on truenas scale it gets stuck deploying forever. Disable the vpn section and it works fine again. I copy and pasted the working vpn settings from my qbittorrent install so not really sure what's going on there, any ideas?
I found that if I have an SMB share active when trying to redeploy a truecharts container, it just refuses. So by deleting the share, starting the container, then re-adding the share, everything works good for some reason.

Is this possible to connect real-debrid to prowler since they have hella shows and movies already cached

You left out readarr(Books: audio and ebooks) and whisparr(Adult movies).
I would suggest that you run Prowlarr through a VPN .
