Examining the nature of the beast.
I count myself lucky to have been born and raised in Tasmania! Our wildlife is definitely some of the most unique in the world 💜
Do you believe in thylacines? I’m one of the people who believes they’re still out there.
These are vicious predators... Continues to pet it like a housecat
Tbf, cats are also vicious predators that we pet, cradle, and cuddle as well
I mean, housecat is still consider one of the most successful hunter out there, or rather in there.
My living room lion has almost become safe in her old age. However, the veterinarian clinic requires me to sedate her before her appointments because even if they use two assistants so she can't bite & claw them she will attempt to pee & poop on them. Also they have had to resort to using the Hanibel Lector Kitty Mask on her to prevent her from biting the $hit out of them. She is currently cuddling next to me, as at home she is a total sweetheart...
The walk of an echidna is so adorable!
I love your long form videos. Especially when it's about one of the most unique places in the world. I love all these weird and wonderful marsupials.
Echidnas are so cute! Loved seeing the Knuckles cameo
I'm so jealous of your job, to be able to travel the world and see these amazing animals in person. Thank you for sharing this great adventure and allowing us the opportunity to live vicariously through you!
Me too
"Mortal Wombat!" Lol
I love that you guys made a long form video covering one of my all time favorite places in the world. I live in NW Oregon & Tasmania is one of the coolest ancient temperate rainforest locations ever. With rugged rocky coasts, old growth forests, giant ferns, unique biodiversity, geological diversity. If i could, i would love to move to and live in a rural house in Tasmania. If i won the lottery i think that's where i would spend the rest of my life. Exploring & experiencing the nature of that amazing location.
I love when you all are able to make these awesome trips. You all make such amazing educational content and make the platform better as whole with amazing content like this.
Would love to see you guys do long video format like this for the wildlife in Indonesia. Just a hop away from Australia ;D
I'd love to see an actual study on this, but one thing I noticed when visiting Bruny Island is that the main threat to wallabies there is cars, and the white wallabies are just a lot easier for a driver to see. So I wonder if that has made the albino mutation not just neutral, but actually favourable
"What in Tansmania, is a Tansmanian Devil?" -Bugs Bunny
Great video but I have just one correction. There are several communicable cancers in mamals and one bivalve mollusk (and some rare occurances in humans).
You may have meant to say it was the only one in Tasmanian Devils but Transmissible Venereal Tumor (TVT) is another which occurs in animal mammals (dogs)
I'm a veterinarian and was listening while 6 working and my ears immediately perked up...
really enjoyed mortal wombat
It's crazy that the facial tumor disease is the only known transmissible cancer. That can be spread by bites and scratches. I couldn't imagine if that was a more common thing..
Love the long form videos!!
13:50 It would be more accurate to say "Protecting the Master Emerald," but I appreciate the Sonic the Hedgehog reference regardless. XD
Tasmania is one of my favourite places. I was just down there for a month so it's pretty cool to see you guys post about it :)
So jealous! I would love a wombat! I would hug him and squeeze him and call him George! 😍😍😍
I searched and I searched.. but I never found my little fuzzy wombat.. gosh it's hot... 😉😃🧊😎
Be Well!!
Yeah, nah mate.... Bruce is a snapping Aussie name for any self respecting wombat.😉
( I get the reference all the same though 👍)
Quolls are my favorite Australian marsupials soo sad they are treatened by feral cats
Feels like a gift. Im gonna watch this over the weekned ❤😂
I didn’t think wombats could get any cuter. Than I saw Mortal Wombat.
The wombats fighting look like the attack of the plushies!
Awesome as always thanks
Thank for visiting Tasmania! I love watching people appreciate nature and this was so nice seeing someone from the other side of the world appreciate the nature I grew up with.
How does a person bwcome the guy who releases these guys into the wild? They're so cute!
By working as a wildlife conservationist.
Very interesting stuff!
Quoll kid: "Hi mom!"
Quoll mom: "Let me check who you are... ... Oh Hi Mark!"
Was born and raised in Hobart. . I'm so lucky to be able to call Tasmania home
Great video on Tasmanias crazy wildlife!
Tazies sound like me before my first coffee! Has anyone figured out how the cancers stayed among Tazies? Watching Wombats fight never fails to make laugh! Gotta love convergent evolution!
Are you guys gna try and get a spotify podcast? I would love listening to you guys on my drives back and forth from work
I have a lot of painting ideas for animals, bugs and insects for the upcoming year. I’m so psyched about my new studio! This channel is awesome!
thank you for a wonderful and educational time
Thanks for highlighting my home state. Pretty sure this is a repeat though with maybe some additional footage.
Quolls are like my favourite animal and something I really want to see in the wild before I die
Love this video! Sat down for 15 mins and it was 3 times longer couldn’t believe it haha
I LOVE Tasmanian devils. They're adorable and hilarious!
- I love your job Danielle. You are so blessed. I wish I had the opportunities you do. I love you guys !!! ❤
Interesting that, at least in the case of tasmanian devils, cancer is a symptom of aggression. Perhaps this observation can be extrapolated for humanity.
You are living such an awesome life!
Great cideo . thx . i especially love the music and sound effects
What a cute and wonderful way to start a Friday.
wow u guys are amazing ❤❤
Amazing, thank you ❤👍🇨🇦
"It's like reddit. But with feces"
Isn't that just average reddit?
Wonderful video ❤ I would absolutely Love to go to Australia!🌞 I'd also like to visit Canada being from Northern Virginia, US

Closing in on 2 million subscribers, great job ya'll! 😃
We are so close! 🎉
Every Australian that saw this thumbnail knew exactly what this was 😂
It's well known that wombats are born responsible. And during combat they holler "REMEMBER TUNNEL SEVENTEEN!"
Great video!
“Mortal wombat” lol
"And we're the weird ones for not laying eggs."
Obviously, you haven't heard my stand-up material.
Is this a reupload or conpilation of prior videos?
just for fun look up a hodaka motorcycle brand that had funny model names . one of which is the combat wombat and the super combat wombat .
"It's like Reddit, but with feces." So just regular Reddit then?
Dude, a sonic reference, mortal wombat. Lmao
'These are called tiger quolls because of their spots.'
Oh...kay?
'But all quolls are spotted.'
... I need to go lie down for a minute.
The Cosmos is pleased
Tree possums look a lot like Kinkajous.
A part of the world full of strange little guys. Loved the vid!
39:50 MORTAL WOMBAT!!!!!!
Cool
Famous Danielle Quotes : "A burrow with an open door doth not make a burrow safe". 😅 Hence the Butts
Do echidnas dream of electric ants?
Who else is lighting a joint to this video?
😎 cool quoll...😊
Btw is your cameraman made in the US?
does danielle have the freaking best job or what
6:30 It's literal facebook.
Please tell they can cover the keywi Birds
I 😂 at Mortal Wombat
...echidna's are like those weird kinks you find only in the deep reddit pages.. also... danger noodles should be the new name for snakes.
Spotted quolls: I have spots
Aussie: Let's call you tiger quoll
Spotted quolls: But I have spots. Tigers have stripes, not spots.
Aussie: EXACTLY! 🤣
that's not a rat with that tiger snake, not saying there are none. i dunno what it is but some sorta mouse or gerbil or something. rats have a much longer, broader snoot, mice have that sharp taper/funnel shape.
also, if echidnaes eat mainly insects i dont think theyd be called carnivores, isnt that an insectivore?
work on closed caption please.
I hope you will give us the option for shorter videos, to watch on a small screen.. I have not watch this one yet, nor the other one that clocks in at more than 2 hours.
Mortal Wombat!!!!!
Cat seething intensifies
wow being a tasmanian devil sounds terrible
and being an echidna sounds pretty chill
Don't Wombats exist in places other than just that one sanctuary island?
Womwats Re sooooo cute,,😂😂😂😂 must go to that island
6:36 "It's like Reddit, but with feces."
Isn't that just Reddit?
echidna means five way in ancient german.
Do pademelons eat paddy melons?
"Echidna" is itself a misnomer. It's Greek for a kind of snake. Apparently someone confused εχιδνα with εχινος (hedgehog).
And also a goddess, actually...
"Pokemon aren't real":
Counterpoint: 39:06
Can you do one video about Chimpanzees?
"It's like Reddit but with Feces"... otherwise known as Twitter.
😂😂 so true
Now known as X(-crement)...😐
