  • I forgot to mention in the video, with the scope that far forward it also enables the user to access the charging handle much easier. #nightforce

Appreciate the helpful insight. I’ve learned over the years that it often takes some time, maybe weeks/months to fully acclimate to a new device. In the internet age, there are a lot of people who do product reviews before ever becoming very familiar with the product. I also believe many internet reviewers just repeat what they’ve heard elsewhere, so if the word on the street is the NX8 has a finicky eye box, then all the reviewers jump right on the bandwagon. Thanks again.

Agreed. I think with capped turrets and the new FC-DMX reticle is a winning combo.

I just ordered the capped with Mil DMx reticle from their Mil/LE program…the waiting is the hardest part.

Just picked up the same optic for $1450 pretty happy with it. No complaints

Good vid on this optic… I’ve been on the fence on the NX8. Everyone loves ACOGs but I hate them due to the eye relief issues and didn’t want to shell out a bunch of cash for an optic with similar issues. Going to try and find one nearby to check out. Really like that reticle design!
Regarding the China thing, just about every optic company sources parts from China with a few exceptions that I’ve heard of… US Optics, Heinsoldt and Schmidt and Bender. This may have changed over the last few years but they all source stuff from China now. Leupold is one of the few that is up front about it but others would have you believe everything is built in-house when it is not. I don’t think companies are intentionally deceiving customers but instead the people working there don’t really know where the parts are sourced and assume that since the optics are built in-house that they make all the parts.

Ive been seeing sime decent deals on the new FC DMX version of the NX8 and it seems like its overall the most well rounded scope in its class, might have to cop it for my POF

Great vid dawg, do gotta say USO does make their glass in USA and they are the only ones. I have an NX8 2.5-20x50 and I put it in an badger comm 154 mount which is mounted forward as well. It does have a tight eye box but super damn usable. The real test is if I ever get the funds to take a scoped carbine class where I’m not on a flat range and I’m in compromised positions. My only gripe is how heavy it is but it’s also the only one in its class going from 2.5-20 at this quality. I love this thing however. I’d love to see it on 8x next to the nx8 to see if the eye box is as bad on same mag or if mine is tighter going to 20x. Any way you slice it the nx8 is an amazing scope period, and it’s insane to me that they offer it for so cheap given it’s ability

Correction, the USO Foundation series of scopes is made in USA. Their other lines and optics are overseas manufactured. They aren't the only ones who have their most expensive lines of optics made in the USA either.

The eyebox is a non issue ppl just suck.. Also the illum flickering complaints, I get it. But if you're shooting at like 600 yards and it's not lit up perfectly then you aren't centered right and your shots are going to be way off because of the fixed parallax. It's really the only lpvo out there I've kept

A couple people have mentioned these before to me. I have not tried them. I did discuss them with a friend who's an 18B in the army. He hadn't tried them either but did say upon observation from pictures they seem kind of a flimsy design if put to hard use. Granted neither one of us have played with them. What's your experience with them if you have a set?

    • @mexicangator

@@tristaneuritt9556 they are a big thing in my community that I train with. Barrel and hatchet and wisemen company JTAC. A lot of ppl use them. They are not flimsy they are hard polymer and very sleek and minimalist less of a snag hazard
