- Robert Dudley- Cookes imagining of a post war seaside town loosely based upon the seafront at Dawlish,Devon. The shops and hotels etc may not be similar to the real thing but it's an impressive representation of a famous section of the South Devon coastline.
There's a definite atmosphere captured here. Excellent!
What a fantastic layout
Amazingly good model, a joy to the eye!
a feast for sure - thanks for sharing, Regards Elizabeth
Great model railway layout of Dawlish seafront - looks almost real! Well done!
Loved your detail on a wonderful model layout. The man up the ladder chose a nice colour to paint. Barry. Devon.
Great video, superb model. As they said in my day AB FAB. Thanks for sharing. Michael
That is absolutely beautiful!
Great video .Like the detail.thank's
I was at dawlish yesterday and this looks so good
Looked absolutely fab
Impressive model making and scene setting.
Magnificent! Thanks!
Incredible layout! Very inspirational!
Immaculate. Thank you :D
It has managed to get the essence of the place.
Great video! Using it as inspiration for my Lego train layout :)
Beautiful
Superb model - thank you for sharing.
Good job it was a calm sunny day for filming the model (cough) 😉
Lovely recreation 👌
OMG Duc Phuc , i like your cover version. Love it !
Magnificent this is exactly the same as the real life dawlish station
Amazing detail, any help available with creating the water effects? Thanks.
Excelent.
amazing model.
Outstanding layout
Where's the Welcome Pub and Peppermint Park on your layout lol, seriously wonderful
Fab well done
It certainly captures the atmosphere of Dawlish even if it's not a direct depiction. Those coaches look like the ones you can stay in in Dawlish Warren.
Ah, the wartime brown carriages, a slightly orangey-brown with an orange waist line on main line carriages, otherwise just the crest. The Austeries lasted for ages. The last one I saw was at New England shed, Peterbro', all on its own.
Anyone else remember the great model railway on Dawlish Warren Station- I loved that place but you would feel the building shake and you would know you’d just missed a Western at 70mph going past!!
spectacular
This is pretty close to the real thing. Very impressive.
One very large detail is needed: The surf breaking over the tracks. (Sorry)
Fab x
WOW
Cool
Very good, it's a shame he couldn't have put the parson and the clerk in it,but a fantastic model anyway !
❤
There are many components to building a railroad layout. One place I discovered that succeeds in merging these is the Jareks Hobby Club (check it out on google) definately the best plan i've seen. look at all the super information .
What a superb railway model. Is this a private layout or is it available for the public to view anywhere?
I don't know I'm afraid. it was on a free promo disc and the magazine kindly allowed us to use it.
It is a private layout in a basement.

Did a double take there. Thought it said Free Porno Disc at first.
Sure the mallard wasn't real life? It looked so real!
All this steam nostalgia gets a bit too much nice to have seen some diesel hydraulics
Given the excellent detail in the surrounding buildings it is a shame that the station itself is only an interpretation. Rather than creating a fictional loco shed perhaps modelling the atmospheric pump house would have been more worthwhile.
Oh I do like to be beside the seaside... 🍭
The station for dawlish is on the over side of the cliff where the model is in Teignmouth and is not on sea wall
Richard Groves, loosely based means non-prototypical. Just saying.....
Maravilhoso !!!!🇧🇷
