    I've been flying 737's for nearly 20 years. I have roughly 16,000 hours in Classics, NG's and MAX's. I fully believe the MAX series is the safest airplane in operation today. Having said that, I also fully believe Boeing should have never ended 757 production and should have "MAX'd" the 757. The reason the A321 is selling like hotcakes isn't because it's a better airplane than the 737, it's because Boeing abandoned that market segment when they quit building he 757. A MAX10 is never going to fill the gap left by the 757. The MAX10 will be a profitable, safe airplane, but it is a solution to a problem that Boeing created for itself by killing the 757.

    • @VAQ-137
      @VAQ-137 Před rokem +2

      In my mind, the fact that Airbus is trying to save the middle of the market for himself is the best idea. Boeing is got ruined his position with the Max and the fact that the A321 Xlr have more seats, longer range, less costs than the Max 10 and is flying right now is for Boeing a blamage.

    • @achmedbincouscous2846
      @achmedbincouscous2846 Před rokem +1

      @@VAQ-137 Right. The whole reason they had to build the MAX in the first place is they decided to quit building the 757 and didn't want to spend the money for the new narrow body design. Except because of the stubby little gear legs, a 737 can never replace a 757 no matter how much they stretch it. Or an A321 for that matter. Short legs = no room for bigger, more powerful, more fuel efficient engines = Move the engines up and back = MCAS. And we all know how that ended. So yeah, I agree, it's entirely Boeing management's fault. Bean counters make stupid decisions. The pilots and the engineers told them 20 years ago the 737 should have ended with the NG's.

    • @jimpern
      @jimpern Před rokem +1

      I agree completely. Boeing should consider offering a 757 upgrade that would fit it with new engines and whatever aero improvements they can do at fairly low cost. It might not be as good as an A321neo, but applied to existing airframes it should be much less expensive. Meanwhile I'm puzzled how long it's taking to certify the Max 7 and Max 10, since the two other variants are in widespread service.

    • @RagShop1
      @RagShop1 Před 9 měsíci

      @@VAQ-137 Spoken like an Airbus Fanboy. The MAX 10 competes with standard A321neos, not the LR or XLR. Its economics are fine for its class with over 800 sold and many more to come when certified. It keeps selling well.

    • @sergiolaurencio7534
      @sergiolaurencio7534 Před 7 měsíci

      Well considering that 757 didn't sell that well compared to the a321 and in that time this this types of narrow planes didn't look to be the future, it make sense they look that way. But yes, there was always a lot to think. But let's hope the mistake are learned and continue to wait.

    The 737 is based on a 707 fuselage and is nearly 70 years old! Till this day from the 707 to the MAX 10. And its length can be comparable too! I’m impressed to see this airframe remains strong, must be Boeing’s great engineering!

      @@nickolliver3021 I think its because of the Max crashes. With the A320, you will be in luck as Airbus made it clear that the next narrowbody will be a clean sheet design to replace the A320. Boeing alluded that too with their next aircraft expected by 2035. Recently they said the tech need to mature. Both manufacturers know they cannot use 60/80s tech anymore.

    The max8 is bad enough, but to now have an even longer stretched version with big engines set low to the ground on what is a 1960s fuselage airframe is asking for trouble. Boeing need an all new 737 and 757 as well.

      The Max 8 is fine there’s a reason they keep getting more orders for them. Boeing doesn’t want another issue like the Max 8 crashes so they’ll definitely make they get it right before they go to customers.

    • @trenton.tchannel1810
      @trenton.tchannel1810 Před 11 měsíci +2

      Airbus doesn’t do anything special to get more range they just add more fuel tanks. They added an extra center tank that they had to get approved for the XLR. A A321-200 has 4 large cargo sections but the 321 neo LR puts an extra tank where the forward aft cargo section would be.

    It nice to see the -10 flying, but she does remind me of a pig wearing lipstick, cosmetically a cover up but still a pig below. They really need to build a replacement for this ageing aircraft, it looks so disproportionate, engines to big to fit, the nose wheel making it look like it will tip on it's tail at any moment. It's certainly made Boeing money but the MAX is a touch to far.

Airbus should really need to build a replacement for that aging aircraft, it looks so so disproportionate too. The engines are too big to fit but you are just making out the 737 has come to the end when it still has over 6000 orders! lol you keep saying all this and say the wheel looks like its going to tip on its tail any moment but Boeing will never replace this so called ageing aircraft just like the a320 is anytime soon.
