I have a picture of this memory and I’m from Alaska, I was about 7 years old when my mom, Gram & I went on vacation in Honolulu. I learned to swim there & after swimming a bit I stood off of the beach, and a gorgeous cone snail crawled onto my hand. It had such a pretty shell, wind and ocean felt so good; funny thing is I found out cone snail’s has one of the most potent toxins in the world. But everything that day was just Chill- felt so good bobbing in the waves, watching this deadly little cone snail crawl on my arm and off my hand, looking out to the ocean and getting a sense of how big the world is.
I have this vivid memory at the beach with my dad, twin, cousins and uncles. We went to that beach often, but this particular trip was the most memorable, because I never felt so close to my dad’s half of the family.
Our whole family went to the Keys and snorkled together for the first time. Amazing!!
Best summer vibe was going on our honeymoon in St. Thomas, V.I. we stayed at Megan's Bay. The room had a balcony overlooking the bay and the sunset over the bay. Spectacular and romantic.
Got to visit the great Pyramids of Egypt and was absolutely stunned by the sheer size of them. Beautiful.
I guess my favorite vacation memory was back in 1970 when I was in Vietnam and my wife and newly born son of 2 months came to Hawaii for my week of R&R.
Oh that's simply gorgeous.
My fave beach memory is seeing it lightly rain and then the sun came out and there was a lovely rainbow overhead. Dolphins leaped up from the water.
Favorite vacation memory was with my love in Florida at Ormond Beach. A wonderful time next to the ocean!
My mom took just me to Treasure Island in Florida for vacation. It's a beautiful tiny beach, and the ocean is green, and the waves are super small. You could walk out in the water so far and it would only be up to your waist.
I describe it as if there was a "kiddie pool" of the ocean.
And my mom was super nice to me the whole trip😅
My favorite memory would be when my family went swimming in the Tennessee River when was a teenager.
Best summer vacations have been both with my family growing and with my family now with my own kids.
Oh man, my family and I go to Colorado every summer. I think my favorite memory was the first time I got to ride up Engineer pass on my own dirt bike. Nothing like seeing the landscape from about 13k feet up on a dirt bike!
Oh and the best part, it was 90 something degrees at home in Oklahoma and it was snowing on top of the mountain in July!
When I was 19, my grandparents wanted all the kids and grandkids on their 50th wedding anniversary trip with them, so they bought us all a cruise together. We climbed a waterfall in Jamaica, swam with sting rays and drank rum in the Cayman Islands. It was the last time I saw my grandmother. Just a beautiful trip.
The beach the first time was great.
I used to live on an island called American Samoa it’s right off the coast of New Zealand, but I was 5 to 12 during this time I lived there for 7 years it had so many beautiful beaches, waterfalls, and much more I miss it
My favorite vacation memory is going to the beach in Miami, Florida, and searching for sea shells.
Favorite vacation memory was going to Atlanta with my family and seeing a Braves game (my favorite MLB team) at their home stadium and having my wife and 2 oldest children with me.
My favorite vacation memories are from my trip to Iceland. We went and booked a visit inside of the Volcano. We had to walk 7 km in between lava rocks watching the desolate scenery all around. We arrived to the base camp and got ready for descent into the volcano, I was wearing the harness it came to me that I was about to have a very different experience in a place with not help around but only the magical nature around me. After another crazy walk we went under to the old caldera and behold your gaze and be amazed with the rock formations and the amazing and different colors never seen before. Turn your lights off and you became engulfed in darkness with a tiny speck of light well up!! Then the slow travel back to the surface until you are again in the arms of a crazy wind! We had to hurry up because the weather was changing for the worst and around half way back my husband started feeling very bad! I thought for a moment that we were not going to make it but we started remembering all our life together and how much else do we need to do. We thought in our daughter and together we came back little by little with the help of our guide. When we arrived back in one piece we realized the bond that we have and that is my favorite vacation memory
Favorite vacation memory is the first time I visited family in Korea. I spent 2 months there and was able to connect with my Korean half.
I was in my 50s and went snorkeling for the first time in La Jolla Cove in San Diego.
Memories of my Dad cooking French Toast for Breakfast camping in the mountains.
We saved up and went to London in 2015. Saw Stonehenge at sunset and a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at The Globe theater.
My favorite memory is when my family went to San Francisco to attend a family friend's wedding.
Best vacation was to Italy. Florence is the best.
When i was a kid, i was going every summer @ blacksea with my parents.
