    I'm a single mom, thank you for this video! The dealership quoted me 500 Dollars for a new key fob. I took it apart and cleaned it. It worked a few times and stopped working again. So I'm gonna order a new one on Amazon!

      So happy you got it fixed. They can be expensive to reprogram and you Don't Need to reprogram them if you use the circuit board that came in your original keyfob. So much cheaper. I think most of the time it's the buttons. The glue gets hot and they slid off to where another button is. Mine would lock and unlock the doors. Thanks for your comment and watching!

      It's not hard to do. If it's just the buttons. The glue gets old. In the hot summer is when mine broke.

    Problem with my new fobs was that the buttons were taped to the new board, not to the rubber part of the fob. I just pealed the tape off the new board and carefully taped it to the rubber part of the new fob. . I'm guessing using the tape like they did, it keeps the buttons from falling off inside. I put it together and it works. Thank You.

    • @Olly.sunshine
      @Olly.sunshine  Před rokem +1

      A lot of people has said theirs were on the board. If it works it works. Mine were on the rubber and the glue had melted off. The buttons were all over instead of where they should have been. Happy you got it fixed🙂. You can save some cash. When mine happened everyone wanted me to make an appointment and have mine reprogrammed. No just needed the buttons in the right spot 😂😂😂

    I'm having the same problem. I ordered 1but the buttons were attached to the circuit board. Can you share the seller or brand?

    • @Olly.sunshine
      @Olly.sunshine  Před 2 lety

      There should be little silver round tab looking things inside the rubber part. That's the only part I needed out of the new key fobs I bought. Take the new one apart. The top has the rubber piece (with the silver round buttons I'm it) just push it out of the case. Put it in your old keyfob. Put your circuit board inside the rubber with the tabs. Watch the video again to see what I mean.

      @@Olly.sunshine Thank you for the quick reply. I know the part you're referring to, except the fob I just returned didn't have them attacked to the rubber. I would like to order the correct one, so as not to need to keep returning and ordering. Thanks again!

    • @Olly.sunshine
      @Olly.sunshine  Před 2 lety

      Are you replacing the same one I have? Or is it a different keyfob? What vehicle are you fixing it for? Did you take out the new circuit board? That board will not work on your vehicle throw it away. Take it out of the rubber housing. The buttons are behind that circuit board. Take new one out put your vehicle's circuit board in the new rubber piece. I show how in the video watch it starting at minute 1:43 in the video it shows how to remove circuit board.

      @@Olly.sunshine Yes, the same device. 2013 Town & Country. Yes, same problem, the little buttons fell off of the rubber. I even tried different types of glue w/o success. Yes, I removed the PWB from the new device and the contact points were mounted on the PWB. I'll order another from a different vendor. I have working knowledge of circuit boards and electronics. Thanks.

    • @Olly.sunshine
      @Olly.sunshine  Před 2 lety +2

      Sure you can. make sure it's the same size battery. Do you think you are having a battery problem? My keyfob the glue melted and the button's we're no longer where they should have been. My old battery was still good so I just used it. But Make sure you use the same circuit board it's programmed for your car only. I only used the new buttons off the new one and the new case.

    • @dorisjackson3865
      @dorisjackson3865 Před 2 lety +1

      No not a battery problem, the casing is cracking apart and a couple buttons don't work.

      @@Olly.sunshine that’s what I done however, the mechanism that holds the spare key in came out of the old fob and I don’t know how to put it back in. The new fob didn’t come with the spring mechanism.

    • @Olly.sunshine

      @@brianmorrison9937 the key just slides in. You have to push a little tab over when removing it. It should just slide back into place. Not sure what's actually going on with yours. Maybe you can find a video on that.
