For those wondering about why Scorpion and Sub-Zero are brothers now, the Shirai Ryu were originally splintered off from the Lin Kuei, taking their secrets with them to form their own clan which is why the Lin Kuei wanted them dead. It seems like in Liu Kang's new era they never separated; the Shirai Ryu don't exist. Whether they are actual brothers or just considered brothers because they are in the same clan I don't think we know yet.

This builds so much confidence and makes me so happy especially when these guys were very vocal about not liking MK11 and they are over the moon about MK1 🔥
They also generate more confidence in me; plus, I'm happy to know that the game is open to having various changes (they tested an older build where they didn't even have Scorpion). I have a feeling that they will increase the overall speed of gameplay and movement, since in the build they showed, there are animations that are very long, like Kano's grab, etc, which interrupts the game's pace a bit.
I don't know I smell a lot of coping. Sure its better than Mk11 but that doesn't mean much considering how bad that game was. The game still looks, sounds and feels like Mk11 with some improvements, much like some patch than anything else. MkX still trumps this game in all aspects for me.

I never understood why Stance Switch was there. Seemed like a huge missed opportunity to add a mechanic. Instead of doing nothing, it could be used to dodge projectiles without taking chip damage, or dodge an attack ( DBZ Budokai style) or ( Shaolin vs WuTang) and maybe lead to a punish. With Mk fighting styles you could get really creative with dodge animations or add character buffs for perfect dodge
This game would of been a automatic dub if they used shaolin VS Wutang’s parry/dodge mechanic. Best idea in a fighting game thus far…..tekken 8 imo should of used it too
Back in the 3D era, stance switch actually switched stances, SF's Gen style. Even better than that, I remember it switching between weapon and weaponless fighting styles and stuff like that. Now it's only there because NRS didn't figure out anything else to do with the button.
That embarrassing stance switch button is STILL THERE? Next you'll be telling me that they're sticking with character-based chapters in the story mode. Christ.

What I assumed is that he maybe got confused because in online, your gamer tag replaces your characters name, so maybe he is confusing that with the fact that it actually shows the character’s name in single player.
Brilliant Video Max and Boys plus Justin. MK1: Reboot definitely looks hella fun, with crazy stuff being able too be done. That is what I like in Fighting Games, is people discovery awesome stuff and Playing a Character in their Own Style.

Liu Kang has missed 1 game just like Scorpion and Raiden. He missed Deadly Alliance. Scorpion missed MK3, though got added to UMK3, Raiden missed MK3 and never got added to the updated version.

Getting rid of the variation is such a smart move. Netherealm making the game more fun and allowing for more tools without being locked behind gear and what have you. Hope the fans love it. I can't play MK for shit because of the block button, never could get used to it and the stance switching? Still? But the game does look amazing. With everything being brighter and more welcoming the superior lighting from 11 makes it look stunning.
It has pretty much been confirmed that Sub Zero is Bi-Han as he's been called that in a couple intros. I also heard in a clip from a podcast that what we've thought is Edenia is actually Outworld, Boon said they completely changed the way Outworld looks, I forget his exact wording but it made it sound like the Throne room thats been shown in a screenshot thats all bright like Edenia is Outworld.
Kameos are cool simply because you can have a team up. Any Kameo basically let's you have some of those moves on your character. It also mechanically changes some things to have different kameos on the same character.

If anything your fav character becoming a kameo gives that character a higher chance of being a real character. Since their model and a couple moves are already made. As apposed to previous games where you'd just have to hope for them to make your character from scratch.

it looks like MK1 took off the film grain MK11 had. I personally love how “clear” and colorful 1 looks
I prefered the dark themes of mkx, this is too much colorful for me...

The stance switch button was suppouse to be a fake out type of button to trick your opponent into makinn the wrong move but it never has been used

Sub not being about to combo into his ice ball is kind of funky but I'm sure its gonna be viable in alot of other ways. Cant wait for this game
