- The zoo doctors go into hero mode, attempting to replace a missing bone in a cheetah’s shoulder and rescuing 16 macaws from a hoarding situation. They also perform pregnancy tests on rare mares, give baby polar bear cubs swimming lessons and treat rambunctious - but loveable - flamingos with leg problems.

@Hafis Asshobri very adorable animals, love you
I volunteer at a similar AZA accredited zoo and have a similar bond with a 51 year old orangutan though it’s not as close as her bond with her keepers. She loves looking at the pictures of players in my Baseball Hall of Famers book. One time, I couldn’t visit for two months due to the pandemic. When we saw each other again, we both ran up to the glass and I eagerly showed her the pictures she liked. Edit: I have now begun showing her pictures of Pokémon and she seems to like them.
So so touching! Saw the Cheetah run and healthy! What a relief and exciting moment! High Five! Beautiful life ahead....! 🎉😍😂 Amazing surgery! A miracle did happen! 🥳💕
Over many years, the zoos and institutions have learned so much about animal behavior. I am old enough to have followed the how this has evolved.
These programs help the youth to learn what I have learned. Nat Geo Mag teaches the children. I still
read and enjoy this magazine.
Thanks UTUBE for finding this for us.
Loved that 'imprinted' flamingo! Who knew? 😍❤️❤️
I volunteer at the St. Louis Zoo and I ended up bonding with one of our orangutans though the bond isn’t as close as it is with the keepers. Merah is 53 years old and she will often come to the glass to see me because she knows I have books with pictures and colors. One of her keepers told me that Merah is often picky about whom she interacts with. I didn’t intend on bonding with Merah, but I wanted to help enrich her life and I started bringing books for her to look at and we started spending time with each other. I’ve let her look at baseball players, hockey players, and even Pokemon.
I didn't realize that a cheetah's skin is also spotted. That's very interesting!
Cool ain't it? I didn't knew also 😊
@@DreStyle I cherish the days I learn something new. I try to make it a daily occurrence. Learning about the world around me (and my children and my dog) is what makes life precious. 😁👍
Rabbits are the same. The darker pigment gets darker skin. For rabbits the flesh is also darker.
@@daemonember I didn't know that about rabbits. How interesting! Thanks for sharing!
Saame!! 😍😍😍😍😍
The flamingo is such a spoiled baby 😂
As someone who can't walk all over the closest zoo, I appreciate the videos. Thanks for posting.
Love the flamingos 🦩 never thought they socialize with humans so much
Fascinating, right? Stay curious, Sophie!
I volunteer at another AZA accredited zoo and can explain. When you spend so much time with the animals like the keepers and volunteers do, the animals start to recognize and bond with you. Even though I don’t have as close of a bond with them as the keepers do, the animals will often recognize me because they see me so often.
My daughter has pet chickens (what she calls them) birds can get really close to humans, her's follow her around and try to eat what she's eating. They will chat with her while eating grass and will sit in her lap sometimes, they love being let out of the coop, she lets them out and watches them for hours outside
The sad part is that cheetahs are now endangered. So saving these cheetahs is so so important which makes videos like this even better to see
29:43 That giraffe was like “What’s going on here, what am I looking at?”
Cheetahs are absolutely amazing! They can reach speed of 0-60 mph (0-97 kph) in just 3 seconds! Incredible animals!
We love this fact. Thanks for sharing!

Emmet is such a handsome cheetah boy and the flamingo was so cute
Loved the flamingo it was absolutely adorable
Whoever disliked had their screen upside down 😂
Hehehe 🤣 nice one
Ironically something similar happened to me. I wanted to like a video but accidentally pressed the dislike button. Thankfully I noticed my mistake and was able to fix it 😂🤣
I love that this is a zoo from my own state. I love to see what Columbus zoo does with it's animals and i'm glad the animals are actually being taken care of.
Those poor birds! I hope that some day human beings will have respect for all animals.
I love big cats especially cheetahs
God bless you and your care for such beautiful animals❤
Like your own child, best wishes! 😅 What a beautiful animal! 😍🤔
Loved flamingos since I was a little girl and first saw them at the San Antonio Zoo.
It's great that they're taking care of the polar bears 😍 but it would be so much better if they created "care centres" for them actually in the pole for them to grow adapted to their natural environment, it's tooo different
Their natural environment includes changes to the climate as well. I’ve seen documentaries of polar bears not being on sea ice. By federal law, zoos can only have them if they are orphaned or born in captivity.
They have a public area at the pole where they relocate polar bears from the wall into the area to help them adapt so that they can grow strong and healthy and learn to get food for themselves but we need a bank of polar bears to raise a gene Bank in case they become very endangered we can replenish the wild. They have animal caregivers at the North Pole that are doing just that and we need animals that are Heather parents starve to death or can't thin for themselves in the wall be brought up in a zoo that has zoo animals in the United States to help raise bears try punish the world if that becomes necessary that's what Americans do they doing for all endangered species that they have. And I know wherever I speak I'm a member of national geographic society I was a science teacher and have taken many years of biology including environmental biology.
@@connielopez9811 I agree. I’m a docent at a zoo and our polar bear was an orphan after a subsistence hunter in Alaska mistook his mother for a male. While the hunter knew he would get in trouble, he still did the right thing by rescuing her cub and handing the cub over to the Department of Fish and Wildlife. Kali (pronounced Cully) is doing well at our zoo and his enclosure can hold up to five polar bears.
It's so cool with the Chevelle Skee horse is the one you see in cave paintings it's almost a 1 to 1 that's so cool that they're still kicking I thought everything from that time went extinct I guess not
Wow what an awesome cheetah
We must keep the animals safe
I love them all and can't decide. :) Emmet is my favourite, but I really want to see spotlights on all of the animals. This was great!!!
Cheetah is one of my favorite big cats.
We ❤️ them too. Thanks for watching, Jaseer!
Mine too
Zoos are also supporting the Anatolian Shepherd program that breed these dogs to give to farmers in Africa. Before these dogs, the farmers would often go after cheetahs and other predator animals in retaliation for the predators taking their livestock since the livestock is their livelihood and sole source of money. With the Anatolian Shepherd guarding their sheep and goats, the farmers are no longer losing their livestock and aren’t going after the cheetahs.
Awesome documentary national wild i love wild animals and documentary on nature. Really enjoyed it:)
She's playing kitty with and baby talking a carnivoris wild big cat. Just because it's being raised around humans doesn't mean it's tame. A regular cat can mess your face up in a heartbeat. Imagine what 'Emmett' could do, especially half whacked after being under...
It just takes one swipe.
You’re right, but cheetahs are different. They’re more flight than fight.
I'm sure the zoo keepers understand this they go through collage and learn this stuff but they do it because they love the animals.
Cheetahs are incredibly timid and very lightly built compared to similar sized felids, so they pose little threat to humans. For this reason, they are the only big cats with which many zoos allow free contact with the zookeepers.
Just love Secrets of the Zoo.
Collin: oh a cat time to chase!
Emit: you wanna see some real speed
I
I absolutely love Cheetahs
Why I love animals more than humans? .... Shows flamingo video...
Amazing, really enjoyed the episode. Thanks for the content!
How wonderful
Just found out that the cheetah, Emmitt passed away. RIP buddy. You were an overcomer who conquered so many challenges.
I realize that this is the 2nd episode of the 1st season of Secrets of the Zoo. So far I see some of my favorite Animals are featured on this. I better check some of the other episodes & known Seasons & see which of my favorite Animals made an appearance on one of these episodes AKA programs.
flamingos are amazing
Thanks for this wonderful full episode NG 💖
anyway the cheetah has a better life than most of Africa
Cheta is one of the fastest animal in the world
I’m such a big fan of your shows!
Today I learned how to pronounce "Przewalski." You say it just like "Krzyzewski."
Dog: What a big cat !
Cat: what a yellow dog
What a great video 👍 I watch stuff like this all the time but this👆one was very special 💯 I was smiling almost the entire video 🙂 You people are amazing 👏
there all so CUTE!
Nice cats
Great video!
Why is it okay to touch the cheetah like they do but not the tigers or lions? I know cheetahs aren’t really a threat but still a wild animal is a wild animal
A tiger or lion can kill a human in an instant by just playing rough - they evolved to tussle with animals as big and strong as they are, if not much bigger and stronger.
Cheetahs are incredibly timid and very lightly built compared to similar sized felids, so they pose little threat to humans. For this reason, they are the only big cats with which many zoos allow free contact with the zookeepers.
Love this! Thank you!
Sting rays have the dangerous pointed tails that kills
GREAT VIDEO
MUST WATCH MORE
29:41 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂
Why didn't they take the birds somewhere to get taken care of? It just makes me so mad people can be so mean and inconsiderate.
My Granddaughter 's favorite animal is the Cheetah.
I request nat geo wild to put dog impossible full episode because its very hard for me to watch it
Beautiful
I wonder if flicka is an introvert haha
make more episodes I'm tired of watching the same ones over and over and over just make more episodes and make them longer do whatever you have to do I just want to watch the same episodes over and over it's boring already

Do you give the cheetah raw foods or cooked??
They give them raw meat. However, they also make sure it doesn’t have any bacteria.

En mayor flagelo que enfrenta la biodiversidad en el planeta tierra es la sobrepoblación humana, su egoísmo y voracidad desmesurada
My name is Selvi ervina from Baktinusa Junior High School, Bogor Regency, I hope this animal population is well maintained and is always taken care of well, thank you
What lol mama poler bear name Aurora 😆 that mine name well sister name
Their escape plan sadly failed.
This was a oretty guf episode

👍👍
Like the show......but please stop using the "baby talk" to animals. I see the animals looking at them like "who are you talking to b...h". It's so annoying.
😏😒😌😔🤢🤮🤧
Then don’t watch or skip over those parts 🙄🙄

What a good suggestion......that's why i post the remark here, i thought maybe someone knows what to do in a situation like this.
Thank you sooooo much. 😏👍
The cheeta keepers are so overly dramatic and annoying. "This never happened before in dogs and cats" ITS A FN CHEETA. because of their coddling a wild animal he went under the knife for no reason. Such incompetence
Feline herpes 🧐
9:58 needs a better hair cut, wig or something because that looks awful.

Awesome !!!
