we just returned after staying at the Edelweiss, where Tomas greeted us with the warmest reception we ever had in our travelling years. Wengen was a perfect location to post camp for a few days in order to travel to other beautiful locations nearby with ease via train. A small quiet town with stunning beauty just like everywhere else in Switzerland. Highly recommend the entire country

We love Wengen ❤ went to visit Swiss first time in Aug this year and we decided to base in Wengen for Jungfrau visit and it was spectacular stays! We love trained rides from Lauterbrunnen to Wengen! I looked at Maya Caprice as well but we ended up booking Hotel Schoenegg on the top floor and it was magnificent! Always love you guys videos! We miss Switzerland so much!
We returned from Grindelwald a few months ago and visited all the sites you mentioned (except the waterfalls). The church in Wengan was so beautiful, we went there twice!! Was surprised no one else was there. We will definitely return to Switzerland, probably when there is no snow. Thank you for the excellent videos!!

Hi i have a quick question my family and i are visiting switzerland for 8nights end of april to first week of May. We wanted to visit Mannlichen but when i check the cable car and gondola schedule they only operate until the 10th of april and will resume mid May. Is there another way to get up to mannlichen maybe by train? Btw i love your videos i learned so much and im doing our itenirary based on your recommendations. Thank you😊

We were there in July and we left our hearts at the Hotel Alpenrose 🇨🇭 Wengen is the perfect location for unmatched beauty, views, and a perfect launching site for the entire Jungfrau region. The Berner Oberland pass is a necessity for this area and we enjoyed the freedom of not even having to think before going anywhere our hearts desired. We can hardly wait to return with our entire family (hopefully next year). Thank you for all of your highly informative videos that we binge-watched to prepare for our perfect trip to Switzerland to celebrate our 25th anniversary!
Do you recommend staying in Wengen over Murren or Lauterbrunnen? Trying to decide which to call home base and would love to hear your thoughts on the pros/cons of Wengen!
@@Trevor_H I’m so glad you asked! We do recommend having Wengen as a home base for several reasons. The first is how amazingly beautiful the views are from anywhere you are in town! You can look down to Lauterbrunnen and across to Murren-so why not stay where you can enjoy all three? The second reason that we prefer Wengen is the small-town feel (although, you could argue that Murren also has this benefit). For us, Wengen offered the perfect balance of feeling quaint while still offering many shops, restaurants, and activities, which we felt Murren was lacking. Thirdly, Wengen is a great location for jumping off to both of the other towns you mentioned, as well as up to Mannlichen (which leads to Grindelwald, Eiger, and Jungfraujoch). It felt like the perfect balance for us to come “home” to our cozy hotel after a day out up and down, and maybe up again, any mountain in the area! Lastly, we were there with just the two of us, but we constantly dreamed of having our kiddos with us, because the town is set up so beautifully with children in mind. Additionally, Mannlichen is just an 8 minute gondola ride up the mountain to the most fun playground with a giant cow that you can climb on-we can hardly wait to return with our children! I hope this helps :) (also, you didn’t ask this, but we wouldn’t consider any of this without purchasing the Swiss Half-Fare card and the Berner Oberland Pass-it saved a TON of money and allowed us complete flexibility in the entire region).

Hi Louis we r at present In interlaken .today we have done murren lauterbrunnen and schilthorn.....r snow activities like sledge open in jungfraugh
5:27 It took me a few _years_ to get that large (0.5 l) Rugenbräu glass! For some reason souvenir shops don't sell beer glasses, they are only given to restaurants by beer companies. So my quest was to find a restaurant around Interlaken that would be arm-twistable into selling me one. To no avail! And I decided stealing was out of question. Finally, I got one in 2021 from a restaurant that cannot be named, of course, for security reasons. As of last September the guilty party waiter was still employed 🙂And the Wengen views are unbeatable!

I'm going to Bernese Oberland on 31 Mar 24, and unfortunately the OBP only active on 1st Apr, so we only have Half fare on that day but we want to explore alot on that day, so i would like to ask does hotel in Wengen offer any local pass to use transportation on that day?

I have some questions about the jacuzzi at this hotel, did you have to book a time slot to enter the spa area or was it on your balcony and was that a penhouse rental with a jacuzzi on the balcony? Thanks for the video. It helps a lot to set up or next trip to Switzerland from BArcelona. I have a question/doubt: in case you need to take a bus (for example, in Wengen region to go from Lauterburnnen to the waterfalls, can I pay the tickets with my credit card or only cash? and normally tickets are bought inside the bus or you have to buy in advance in the bus stop (just thinking taking the bus in the waterfalls after getting there on foot maybe there is no bus ticket office and you have to buy them inside the bus and if they accept credit card inside). Just wondering how it works. Thanks a lot!!!

So many of the transportation and destinations are closed mid-may still. Ugh I feel like the jugfray summer pass was a waste. And I can't find those fridges 😩

Thanks for the great video! I see that you're taking a stroller. How accessible are the hiking trails in these villages? We're taking our one-year old daughter to the Alps and wondering if we should get a baby carrier backpack in addition to a stroller 😅
Check the trail markers! Generally if they are yellow they will have paved trails - if they are white+red, they will have uneven terrain!

Using BERNESE OBERLAND pass
If you were staying in Grindelwald this would be easier - it can take about 40 minutes to get from interlaken to Grindelwald alone. I think it'll be doable, but you don't have a lot of time to enjoy all of these places if you do it all in one day

I checked into my hotel in Wengen late today. I took trains from Zurich, and I have no idea what to do here with traveling around; there are so many options. I am sure I want to check out neighboring cities, but what pass do I need? I need a pass back to Zurich airport. I did pay one way today since nobody knew. I need to keep the price low can i just take the gondola or should I pay for a 3 day pass and does that get me to Zurich I dont think i will be on trains or transportation much, so seems way too expensive to get that pass.
The Oberland pass does the whole region near Wengen.

if you want to go to the Eigengletscher Station from Kliene Scheidegg, is that included in the Oberland Regional Pass. Assume I do not want to go up to the Jungfraujoch. Thank you!!

Lauterbrunnen is more convenient for transportation, but Wengen has much nicer options for lodging in our opinion! We prefer Wengen
Just a quick tip, you don’t need to stay near the station. Most hotels you can call for free from the station and they will come pick you up and drop you off.
