First time Commenting on a youtube video :) and the reason is that I have a funny story related to this dish!
in 2011 I was in Paris for the first time studying abroad and learning French. On our first day we went to a small and maybe touristy sort of cafe in saint germain des pres. We know basic French so we begin to order. I am not so hungry and just want a coke.
being a polite American I say to the waiter: "Je voudrais un coke monsieur" (I would like a coke sir)
But what I should have said was "Je voudrais un coca cola"
because 10 minutes later he brought me a beautiful sandwhich! I was surprised but then it occured to me what happened :P
I did get my coke and also enjoyed my first Croque Monsieur : )

Add cheese to butter, layer cheese with butter and cheese, add some more cheese on top. Done. haha

@@BrunoAlbouze Also eating a balanced diet of unprocessed foods. 2 bites of a skinny twinkie would do us more damage than eating a whole one of these sandwiches with a lovely salad of fruit. Eat a cwah-sahhht, just not 2 of them every meal for 3 days straight.

Bruno, thank you for sharing this video. After my wife and I visited Carmel-by-the-Sea a few weeks ago in which she had Croque Monsieur from Porta Bella restaurant, she wanted to have another one. I looked at quite a few recipes on CZcams and didn't find any that looked appealing or even close to what my wife ate. That was until I found your video. As soon as I saw the thumbnail, I knew this was the video I was looking for. Thanks to you, I just made Croque Monsieur for the first time and my wife & I loved it! Thank you again for making a great and easy to understand video for someone like myself who is just learning how to cook.

I realize this video was filmed over three years ago but I just made it tonight, July 13, 2018 and just finishing my final bite , I had to rush to write you about how absolutely delicious this was! Obviously, you can't eat this on a regular basis or you would be 900 pounds but, for special days, the Croqe Madame makes a stellar meal.

Well, I always though that Croque Madame was with an additional tomato (ahaha, finally eating a croque madame is more energetic !).

I love your channel and have for a while now (since last year). Although you don't do a ton of vegan stuff on your channel, it's good to have the blueprints to things that can easily be made vegan using alternatives. Not that there's really a good vegan way to do this (I'm sure there is), but this is just a general comment towards your entire channel. 10/10.

And Europeans make fun of the States for having fattening foods haha. I had a croque monsieur in Lisbon from a French bakery (huh?), and it was AMAZING! I had made one before trying that one, and there was no comparison. I didn't put in mustard or cream in my béchamel, which explains why mine was so bland.
***** Oh I know that already. I've been to France on more than one occasion. My point was that on videos like Buzzfeed. Whenever they show videos about food, many Europeans argue stating all of their food is healthy when I know that's not always the the case. They don't mention quantity. Have a great day. A bientĂŽt!
