      @@Bollalillo alright thanks! I am about to purchase a new monitor and I have been back and forth, between either 240 hz (24,5 inch) and 165 hz (27 inch) you know one being TN and one IPS.. I am also reluctant picking up an IPS when seeing how much edgebleed all of the options got, in that regard the TN panel seems like a better option to be honest, what would you choose? same price. I am planning to pair it with a RTX 2080 playing Quake C, CS Go and Cod or whatever, and I have been seeing it requires a TI for it not to go under 240 fps in 1080p. So I guess it makes sense to go 165 hz knowing it probably wont hold up 240 fps anyways. But, then again not sure about going non-native in the 27 inch either, given that is a 1440p, and not sure if I even can reach a minimum of 165 fps on 1080p with a 2080? • @SalveMonesvol
      @SalveMonesvol Před 3 lety

      5ms is nothing. The thing is, from the time you give the game a command and the time it sends the image of that command to your monitor, it can take multiple frames. If it's 3 frames at 30fps, you get 100ms+5ms, which is really sluggish. If you have 120fps, you have 30ms of lag in total, which is less than the minimum lag with a CRT (which has no latency) at 30fps.
      If you are playing competitively, just desable vsync and limit the game refresh rate to a multiple of your monitor refresh rate, it's not as good, but it helps.

    • @alberts6096
      @alberts6096 Před 6 lety +1

      Thx for response. I think I don't understand what is better high refresh rate or fs/g-sync. I think fs/g-sync works best if you have high refresh rate monitor and gpu delivers enough fps, right?

    • @WasdRo
      @WasdRo  Před 6 lety +3

      gsync makes your eyes see the image better because it changes the actual refresh rate of the monitor to match the fps. if you have 129 fps on this monitor, the refresh will be 129hz, and when it changes to 101 fps the refresh will also go to 101 hz.

  • @ulfrinn8783
    @ulfrinn8783 Před 5 lety

    slow motion is such a bad test, i have a 165hz screen, and while there is a smoothness improvement between 60 and 120hz, its not enough to be a big game changer, and between 120hz and the full 165hz, i really couldnt detect much of a tangible difference.. so while 165hz at full speeds does look a bit sharper in fast moving scenes and games, thats really the only thing it provides
    so my advice to those considering a higher refresh rate monitor.. if you can get one within your budget, sure.. but if not, dont worry about it too much and if you dont play any fast paced games you wont benefit from it at all.. its a luxury, but at the end of the day, that's all it is
