Invincible is an Image Comics Universe series named for its superhero, "Invincible" ("Mark Grayson"). Created by writer Robert Kirkman and artist Cory Walker, Invincible first appeared in Tech Jacket #1 (October 2002), before graduating to his own self-titled regular series in 2003, as the premier title in Image's then-new superhero line.
Invincible is the teenage son of Omni-Man, an extraterrestrial superhero of the Viltrumite race. Invincible inherited his father’s superhuman strength and ability to fly and he has sworn to protect the Earth. He has had trouble adjusting to his newfound powers and coping with the reality of his origins.

No matter the violence the show has already shown, everyone flips when Debbie's arm gets broken.
Her impact in the show feels much more grand than the comics. Here's to them giving her a storyline that isn't about being someone's mom next season.
The thing that got me was as Debbie was being tortured, her main concern was to comfort little Oliver. Not even her son, but protecting him was more important than her own life.
The Spiderman 'cameo' was pretty wild. They actually met in the comics. They just couldn't get the license here for the cartoon.
Was even voiced by the person who voiced Peter Parker in the Superior Spiderman cartoon I believe

That wasn't the occupation, that was the takeover itself. I constant war zone wouldn't be beneficial to any empire, and it is just a transitory stage to what Viltrum wants to establish.
The problem is that the show hasn't yet shown us what it looks like after the takeover, what rules and laws humans are expected to follow and what kind of changes Viltrum will impart on Earth.
Y'all didn't pay attention to Kates costume, she wasn't 1 she was 0. Also the tomb is from the first or second episode I think.

yep, when she says "I'm sorry, I didn't tell you", she means she didn't tell him the actual OG Kate, the first (which is not number 1 but number 0) was always out there, somewhere safe.
Which amusingly enough a lot of viewers who don't know the comics talked about doing this as a security measure^^

Yep, in the first season Mark and Nolan flew past the tomb and the blast from them passing overhead slammed the door shut.
The moment where Mark looks down and sees his hands completely covered in blood is exactly the same shot as Nolan looking down and seeing his hands covered in blood after beating up Mark. The regret is there too, great parallel.
Great symbolism in this one-Everyone in the Grayson family ends up with a black eye..And marks scenes parallel his dads last season

@@jaealxndr Hey, i absolutely adore the show, I've seen s1 more than 5 times and s2 almost 3 times, I love it , however I have not read the comics and I know that it is a completed story and I can't bring myself to only get 1 season of this a year and have to wait like 6 years till I get the complete story lol, so do you think I should read the comics , and if you think yes, is it best to just buy the 3 compendiums or what do you think I should do, any help would be greatly appreciated.
"I thought you were stronger" only somewhat about Levy, mostly about himself. His idea of being a hero is being stronger than those angry, violent, murderous urges that his father and all Viltrumites represent to him. Although he did want to kill Angstrom, he felt like a failure for letting that feeling rule him, to lose control and not being strong enough to hold those urges back.
And imagine how much worse it is for Mark than any other hero since he knows _every_ Viltrumite in the universe was a murderous psychopath and he felt like his nature took over. Imagine knowing that you're so adjacent to evil that out of countless universes only _one_ of you has basic human empathy, and the rest are genociders.
Mark not justifying the death because he _knew_ it was avoidable and _knew_ it was a loss of self-control to me feels like it could lead to post-traumatic growth as he doubles down and recommits himself to controlling his Viltrumite anger. That guilt and feeling frightened he may not be as good as he wants to be after killing someone is a healthy sign he is exactly the hero he's always wanted to be, that shows a boatload of responsibility and valuing life.
It’s possible for there to be other good marks out there, it’s just the large majority that are bad

Everyone forgot about the Tomb, but it was actually also in season 1 too. It looks like it's a running gag where the mummy keeps being stopped from escaping.
How ironic that Mark, Deb and Nolan all have matching black eyes.
I love this episode especially because in the comics after they defeated angstrom they just moved on without any emotional or psychological trauma. But here they really address it

they didn't do that in the comics?! but..
it's so important to the character; he mindlessly killed a human being {in anger!} for the first time, that's the whole drama between him and Nolan in their fight for Earth- it's him becoming the antithesis of who he sees himself as the hero of his story...that's got to be written as a massive introspective shift, that absolutely should have staying power- he was a (mostly) spic and clean Son of Superman to this point. The writers not fleshing this out as a crack in his character is a big deal if he just recovers from that. that's the equivalent of someone like if Hamlet just shrugging after his murder.
that's just odd.

i read the comics after finishing s2, and then i watched s2 again and honestly i like the changes they've made. its better than the comics. also i appreciate how they made amber better than s1 and also the comic one
I preferred the comic version for that. It's a very tired trope that people always have mental break downs after killing somebody. It isn't true. It's not even common. People kill other people accidentally or in self defense situations all the time and it doesn't affect them like it does in so many Hollywood movies.
Especially when it's somebody threatening your family and trying to kill you. The most common feeling after killing such a person is relief and then pride. Relief that the threat is over and pride in the fact that you protected your loved ones.
@@KurNorock you forget that Mark is still very young. He’s still a freshman in college.
We have never seen Mark take training seriously and it's quite significant for his character. If he had truly taken this seriously from the start he would have been way stronger than he is currently.
What do you mean "We have never seen mark take training seriously"? The only time we've seen him actually get a chance to "train" was when he first learned he could fly, and Nolan took him out that day for a lesson. After that very short time they spent doing so, Mark is thrusted into awful situation after awful situation. He literally has never had true time to train 😂
@tacocat8452 He was in a relationship with Amber for over half a year. He was ducking his training constantly to be with her. We'll get to see how much stronger he becomes now that he's dropping college and not being in a relationship.

Going forward now that he's finally at the point where he's going to take his role seriously. The Blue and Black suit the title screen eludes to is when we'll see Mark become a true threat to his enemies.

In the comics, Invincible straight up met Spider-Man there, the shot where he crashes into Prof Ock is identical to the panel in the comic Invincible crashes into Doc Ock. "Agent Spider" here is also voiced by Josh Keaton, a spectacular Spider-Man voice actor, who just recently played Spider-Man again in Spider-Verse 2, so the "I've had a lot of multiverse experience lately" joke is actually two-fold.
I think this is the second time Josh Keaton played a Spider-Man knock-off because of his popularity as the real Spider-Man, the first being in the DC animated show Young Justice.

31:11 i think what makes Mark really special and why we need to be a little bit easy on him is that Mark is a HUMAN stuck in a viltrumite’s body. He was raised like a human and inside he’s just a typical teenager/young adult who happens to have incredible power. That’s why he cannot fully control or use his body to the limit, he just doesn’t know what he’s capable of. He’s still learning and that’s not going to be a fast process.
also (just imo) Mark doesn’t want to use his powers fully and embrace them because it reminds him of Nolan and the horrible acts that he did just because he thought him and his people are entitled to do so.
Mark is holding back against everyone. Even against the viltrumites on thraxa ,which led to Nolan being captured.

Nolan's redemption arc is honestly one of my favorite arcs in comic books all together! He's a 1000 year old brainwashed alien with a SUPER alien mindest, so why can't he still have a chance to change?
They did actually make him considerably more violent in S1 than he was in the comic, but I'm glad it's still happening!
We all know this show is awesome and the entire voice cast is amazing, but special shout out to Sterling K Brown for his performance as Angstrom Levy. Dude absolutely stole the show 👏🏼
in regards to Duplicate, i think its cool how they made the 1 just an outline so the symbol ends up looking like an O, for Original. Because usually its just a black number in a circle. Very clever

I suppose my only problem with Mark is that bad people and monsters are constantly trying to kill him but he’s always holding back, in other dimensions he’s a menace by embracing he’s destructive potential, imagine if he does that but for good

I know I'm late to watching this, but something I will remind you guys of if you ever check this is that Rudy (Robot) has a cloned body of Rex, so in 20 years he would look like an older Rex

I dont know why you guys think that donalds android arc was left unfinished, they showed him that it had happened many times before and that it was always his choice to not remember but this time he wants to keep his memory to help others and to keep on doing the job he loves to protect his country. I feel like if anything they opened the door to many more possibilities for season 3, like he could become more of a rebocop kind of agent instead with cool gadgets like rexs Arm that fires explosives. I do agree with the mars one thou I do feel like they forgot to recap on it or update us with it.

I actually do feel for Angstrom a bit. If it weren't for the Maulers, he would have succeeded in his endeavor to collect knowledge to help all dimensions. But because of them, he got his mind flooded with nothing but memories of Mark being the end of humanity. It sucks that those memories destroyed his humanity and forced Mark to start to lose his...but Nolan starting to gain humanity is something big
if it werent for the maulers, but at the same time he needed the maulers' knowledge to complete his goal. he was doomed from the start
Just so you know, it was rumored already that there’d be a Spider-Man cameo (the VA for Agent Spider was the VA for Spider-Man in the official animated series), but it was vehemently denied. So the jogger at the very beginning was also voiced by that VA, so when people inevitably recognized it, they’d think that was the cameo from the VA and then… boom, weird Agent Spider

Why do reactors not realize that this world has people with powers and look different than regular humans? Oliver being purple isn't gonna make people gasps and be surprised
But Debbie, Mark and Nolan were living as a normal family, Mark and Nolan lived with secret identities. So having a superhuman purple baby popping up in the family would certainly raise a few eyebrows in the neighbourhood.

I'm sorry but rectangle halves are the superior cut. With triangle halves you end up with 2 corner pieces that are like 80% crust. This is a loss. And then your final bite is _also_ 80% crust. Double loss. The only exception is grilled cheese where every single bite is heaven

That wasn't Rex in the robot suit, it was still robot. In the comics Rex sacrifices himself to kill an alternate version of Mark, and Robot changes his name to Rex out of respect

Super man gone back in time not because he was orbiting earth in opposite direction but because he started flying faster than speed of light
As we know time slow down when you go near the speed of light when you pass it time starts moving backwards which is exactly why moving faster than speed of light is impossible
