Hundreds of people, including some of the biggest names in country music, turned out to pay their final respects to Grand Old Opry member Little Jimmy Dickens.
Jimmy was a dear friend of my husband's who died 2005 and Jimmy worked many of our shows, and it was a sheer pleasure to be around him with his funny humor. He will be missed so much by all of us, we have many memories to cherish. I have known him also as a child, many years ago in Saginaw,Mi. and then when I married and he was a family friend then. He was an amazing man. Widow of Ken Allen
I got to see Little Jimmy Dickens in person in Rochester, Indiana at the Fraternal Order of Police country western show at the Rochester Community High School. A true legend of country music. May he Rest in Peace.
he worked shows with Hank Williams, and was probably the last person alive who did that--he was a huge part of country music history--he had a truly amazing long run and was a joy to see
A sad day :-( feel bad for Brad Paisley too at this sad time. Brad was very fond of Jimmy and once quoted one of Jimmy's sayings stating that, "if you see a turtle on a fence post, he had help getting up there" Best wishes to Jimmy's family, friends and fans. Another icon sadly gone :-(
Gone but not forgotten, he sang from the heart, R.I.P. Jimmy.

This cheerful, forgiving man was terribly taken advantage of by others in the industry. He was great!
He May Be Only 4 Foot 11 But His Heart Was As Big As The Universe!
