This video does a great job of showing the camaraderie between these drivers and their passion for the sport.
I raced a gasser in the day. What a great time
when I was just a little boy I remember my dad taking us to Lions drag strip in Long Beach California and to Ascot Raceway in California and this is what I remember cars looking like now when I go to any kind of drag race it's nothing but rails or professional drivers hardly any backyard guys it's good to see this this is what traditional hot rodding was meant for in the youth nowadays needs to see what we seen as real funny cars because they were funny looking but they were fast as hell and definitely added a lot of excitement and a bonding experience with my dad I almost come to tears cuz it makes me smile and laugh so hard and I can still hear my ears ringing and smell the fuel in the burning rubber Thanks for the Memories God bless and have a great day hope some other people feel the same way 😎😎😎
Thanks for the comment Jackie. We are glad our video clip allowed you to recall the great memories you have of your early experiences with drag race. Our hope is to make memories come to life at Bee On Video.
Well you are doing a great job
Lot of gasser meets still going on in Calif. I was racing Bracket in the 60s at Lions and this is what all the cars looked like in the gasser class. It's what a lot of the street cars looked like too and found Friday night races at Oscars. Fantastic times to be a teenager in So. Cal!!
I remember when I was young my step dad used to take us to the drags and he'll make one run down with his 55 Corvette and I would have to bring it back in pull the transmission out we build a transmission put them back in for the next round for watching this man brought back so much memories so I cried but there's a lot that we want thank you
Like this promo video alot. The switch to black 'n white for tha gassers, lines in the frame as it was for old 8mm vid's is of the day is a really cool touch,, the cars for certin get a thumbs up BUT the narrator,, now that rite there's a BIG TWO THUMBS UP from this drag racing fan. His voice on this video is most excellent, perhaps the best I've heard on CZcams. Thanks BeeOn!
If you soak thank you so much for putting this video out there,
An awesome event at a beautiful dragstrip!
Even the narrator is in the period correct sound. Gassers are the the roots of hotrods and racing.
backyardbuilttrucks1 hot rods and racing were around at least thirty years before gassers
A new drag strip that is BIG news!!
I love love love the manual shifting.
glad this track is back
I like 48 Angias, the perfect gasser
Great Video 👍
So Awesome👍
Great video man that is a little track
Dug that Henry J ,they always look right when set up as a gasser.
I saw Aubrey Padget's Big Iron and it brings back memories. Does anyone know what happened to the 55 Chevy, the Mississippi Rebel?
Im. From. This. Era. My. Dad. And. His. Brother. Were. Gasers
Awesome! 👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻😎😍
Wayyyy, cool my brother
6:44 man I love the trucks ....
COOL
Also to the ones that prefer 1/4 mile tracks. If you have enuff engine you might be able to make up the lack of you slow reaction time at the starting line. Not so in a 1/8. You gotta be quick on the draw, the fast gun, a hair trigger. Its more difficult than people might think running a bracket car on an 1/8... Just sayin
Rajin Cajun true!
yo ! this guy , him funny.. me like him..
looks like a short track to me....
all vehicles called (GASSERS) should be leaf spring or lifted front end...jmo
and that's the way it was ?
" strange things happen under a full moon " whats strange about a race car not working right ?
Lot's of Pro-Street looking cars.
204 andio
Not winning here, running under a crescent moon and a lot of regrets
Moon nothing, ford lmao
Herbie. &?
Excellent promo, cars, narrating and action etc, just a shame about the 1/8th....personally prefer the full 1/4.
Nice cars ,great racing BUT my God 1/8th mile is GARBAGE!!!!!!! leave 1/8th mile for the little kids in junior dragsters.
Frank Mc3. Is your career dedicated to bitching about 1/8th mile? Build your own car and run the 1/4 mile and stop keyboard bitching about it
Frank Mc3. Move along
Its what we have. If every track in the southeast was 1/4 mile, then that's what we would run.
Opinions are like ass holes
Frank Mc3, an 1/8 mile track is plenty long to prove a point with a drag car. Its all we had in southern Illinois to keep racing off of the streets and safe. 1/8 mile tracks are safer, cost less to operate and are given more to the grass roots folks like me that don't have an extra $100,000 just layin around to build a car with. I've competed locally on and off since 1980 and have made a lot of friends and had a lot of fun.
1/8 mile sucks
every thing sucks. its your fucked up world and I am stuck in it ! dry your fucking eyes dj.
Your 60ft sucks
Bootleggers headers looks stupid.
