+Collin Daniel Hate to tell you this but the band isn't focused on their lyrics. Kurt was their best lyricist but he left to be in A Lot Like Birds for the sole reason of being in a serious project that not only focused on instrumentals, but lyricism. Jonny's lyrics are shitty and cliche and so are Tilian's. It's about their voices.
jon mess wrote all the lyrics while he was in the band tho...

for one, each respective vocalist write their own material, and sometimes Will chips in. and Jons lyrics do have meaning, depending on how you interpret them.
That's the great thing. No matter how hard Tillian tries, he will never be on the same level as Jonny.
I love every DGD's album, I love albums with Kurt, love their new CD with Tillian. But still, no matter what, this album will always be the best for me.

Tyler Caldwell I feel you man, This album and especially the last 3 songs kick my ass still after 4 years of much listening. the instruments match so perfectly to make the vibe of this and over all everything I hear is spot on. I like every Vocalist dgd had but this was Jonny craig's explosion before things went downhill in that route. Glad its going this way though

I think one of the saddest thoughts I have is this album being lost to time like greko roman literary pieces. Who's to say in two hundred years this song will still be played on the reg, or at all. And when humanity dies out and this planets taken over by the expanding sun how might this art be saved.

This album is a masterpiece, and this is one of my all-time favorite DGD songs. Every single section of this track is its own iconic moment. But the bridge at 2:40 is just... it's unbelievable.

His screams are amazing now, but they've always been my top across genres. It's almost like each progression has its own style. For me, Deathstar is essential 'classic' DGD and the abravise style of his vocal work there matched so perfectly the satirical message and confrontational undertones of that record. However, take something like 'Pounce Bounce'...you can't beat that.

People's ignorance lead them to believe that a Band should be judged by only their singer. It's not just the singer that determines a band's sound, it's how well all of their talents mold into a single piece of art.

@deth349 youre half right. Yes jonny is actually smart on this album and knows exactly what hes doin, unlike on DTBM1 where he kinda just belted everything. But Jon is the oppisite of raw his new technique puts alot less strain on his voice, rather than if you listen to TWBLD the ep hes extremely raw abd it was hurting his voice so he changed it up.
@deth349 jonny isn't hitting higher notes or singing badly he's just showing a lot of vocal restraint in this album which is rare but he still blows away, i really enjoys jon's screams too it's become really refined compared to the old 'wargrowl' it's the lyrics i can't fathom.
