Hands up! You know me, I don’t normally buy expensive fragrances, it’s nice to fantasise sometimes though isn’t it?
Anyway, I’ve had quite a few perfume samples to try from a few different CZcamsrs and these were some that I was so interested in because I’d heard so much about Teo Cabanel perfumes. In the grand scheme of things, these are actually not that pricey, they are just a bit elusive in the UK, often out of stock or need to be imported (sigh). Paola (Ms. Stardust) sent me these and I am so pleased that she did, because I would probably never have tried them and I think these are really lovely and quite interesting!
It was my work Christmas party this week, we went to a little French bistro and I wore Café Cabanel; it seemed fitting…

Good parfume review my friend...
Thanks sharing and successful :)
Thank you!
Oooo😍😍😍The bottle for cafe cabanel looks stunning!
It's beautiful isn't it? It makes me think of Friesian cows 🐄 😂🤷♀️
Oh Là Là sounds cozy! Je Ne Sais Quoi sounds very interesting with those rice and matcha tea notes. A savory gourmand...hmmm I can't say that I have ever experienced that either. 🤔
It's very odd when you start to think about it, I was trying to think of any other fragrance that I've tried with such savoury notes and didn't come up with anything...
Yes I agree with the alcohol dry down you mentioned in Cafe Cabanel. Je Ne Sais Quoi sounds so interesting 🤔 😍
Yes! I have been wearing these, pretty much non stop for three weeks 😂 cafe cabanel has really impressed me and je ne sais quoi is so unusual. I find the idea of a savoury gourmand mind blowing! Definitely one to be sampled. Thanks so much for watching 😘
It was fun to hear about this house, I think I need to try them!💖💖💖
I can see most people enjoying cafe cabanel at least.
Hello Dr. Smith! I just love how you describe fragrances. I am so curious about Cage Cabanel. You make me want at least a decant!
I really liked all of these. I loved that the cinnamon was more the star but the coffee was definitely there and oh, the buttery caramel background! Lush! 🥰
I haven’t tried any fragrances from this house. You took me\us on an olfactive journey with Je ne sais quoi, love it.
I found it so interesting! I was so impressed by all of these! I really hope you get to try them. 😊
It is good to have your own opinion, not to agree with everyting from Fragrantica. Lovely trials xxx
I would say I often disagree on masculine / feminine ratings in particular. It's a bit pointless rating such things really because it's only society and cultural traditions that impose those kinds of ideas, but then also those expectations are what keeps designer perfumes segregated in marketing by gender... I always pause when talking about gender because I wonder whether it is becoming irrelevant in perfume like in a lot of the rest of life? Not sure 🤔 lots of people still care in reviews whether something leans masculine or feminine but it's all opinion and your own experience I guess. 🤷♀️
Loving your videos they are always very informative. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Pat 😊
Brilliant reviews! I have oh la la and love it and about to get cc and jnsq. Love your indepth reviews and how you explain. Xx
Thank you! I love all three of these, they are beautiful fragrances! I hope you enjoy the two new ones that you are getting!
These perfumes are all new to me. Paola is amazing
Yes, lovely to try these 🌟
Thanks for sharing hun, great video
Thanks Nika 🌟
I love drinking Genmaicha which is my favorate flavor of green tea. So fragrant. I just purchased a large bottle of the Je Ne Sais Quoi, I already know I will love it. I also will try Tres French for the spring like flower notes, and Ca Boum, which will be a great summer layering fragrance. This house is quite interesting to me.
Yes I want to try all of them 😂 these three were so lovely! I wish they were easier to sample! Thank you for watching 😘
Wonderful review!!!
Thanks, hope you are well Maude 🥰
Great sharing, good to hear about this house 🤩
Thank you! 🥰
Oh la la sounds perfect 🤩
These are all great, but yes you picked the cosiest!
Paula is a total gem !! I haven’t tried any of these fragrances
Hugs 💗💗💗
She is! These are lovely and so interesting 🥰
I love that bottle.
The cafe cabanel one? Yes it's pretty! ❤️
I purchased a Oh La La a while back and really enjoy it. Et Voilà is another one I like in summer.
Aah! I saw a bottle of et voilà going for not much on eBay only the other day. I did wonder what it was like and read a bit about it. Is it strong on aldehydes or more powdery? It seems like it has two sides and I wondered which was more dominant. 💕
@@dr.claire.perfume in my opinion the aldehydes are more dominant. Truthfully, I didn’t love Et Voilà at first but it really grew on me. By the time the sample was gone I decided to purchase a bottle. It’s a very clean, fresh smell.
@@Scents4em thank for the info. I am wary of aldehydes but only because of my experiences of perfumes as a child with old school aldehydes. I think aldehydes in more modern compositions can have quite a different feel. Thank you again! 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume oh yes, I detest old school aldehydes as well. I recommend trying a sample of Et Voila just to see if it’s better than aldehydes of old to your nose.
Lovely video 😍😍😍 and Good work sister ❤️
Thank you!
I haven’t heard much about those but they have fun names 😍😍🌸🌸
Indeed! They are memorable! 😊
Je Ne Sais Quoi sounds so interesting!! I want to get my nose on it!
It's really odd! I hope you find it to try. I feel that might be a problem with these! 💕
Of the 3 I think I would like to try cafe cabanel, that one sounds really good 😊
I would pick that one as the safest bet for most people liking it, but it's definitely not a dull perfume, it's really good, just the most likeable 💖
Wonderful Video / Review Claire and yes two cabanel is gorgeous 🙏
I loved all of these! Do you also have a review of any of these? I will go watch if so! ❤️
@@dr.claire.perfume I don't own any but have tried café cabanel I do own Alahine but only mentioned that on a haul vid
@@TheScenturion ok... I will look out for it in future videos.
God bless you and your family ❤️
You too!
Hi hun here watching, I’ve never smelled anything from this house.
They are pretty hard to get I think. I checked, and in the UK, they are available from one website only or you just have to deal with importing and taxes... 😭
Hello beautiful Claire here watching
Hello 😍
A savory gourmand fragrance? 😱 I’ve never quite experienced one like it. I’m intrigued!
It's definitely a new one on me... Not for everyone though, I think the rice matcha combo is probably quite polarising 😂
I love your discussion about all these fragrances 💗💗💗 thank you Claire!
Glad you enjoyed, I loved trying these 💞
Hi Claire, I think it’s nice that your friend shares samples. Fragrance is so expensive to take a chance on. I love the way you describe them. I’d trust trying a fragrance based on your description! The third sample sounds like something I’d like to try but not sure if I’d want this one without trying. But you have my interest piqued! Thank you and I hope that you are having a great weekend! Mona
Hi Mona! These are really interesting fragrances. Yes I agree, I don't take chances in expensive fragrances or ones that I know that I won't be able to resell. The third one is interesting but not necessarily everyone's cup of tea. Definitely ones to try if you come across them. Thank you for watching ❤️
Hi darling! 🤗 I have never tried anything from this house yet. 😊
Hello! It's only thanks to Paola that I have really, they are a bit hard to come by to try. ☺️
💁🏾♀️😩Still haven’t smelled intense cafe! Probably the only person that hasn’t!
Do you want me to send you a decant??? Send me your address on IG and I will send you one! X
How nice of Paola to send those to you and thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. The last one sounds very interesting, the only perfume in my collection with a Rice note is Kenzo Amour and I often wear it as a bedtime scent because I find it relaxing. Have a great week Claire!
Oh I really want to try Kenzo Amour! I've been trying to hunt down a bottle of the original formulation at a reasonable price... No luck so far!
Yes Paola sent me so much stuff for which I am extremely grateful. I have lots of things to try out and make videos on 😂
Nice 22
Thank you ❤️
i am so glad you love them !
i found Cafe Cabanel to be very spicy in the entrance too! but the drydown is so nice...
Oh La La was one that I fell in love with right away ! and the transition to the leathery, and slight tobacco accords in the id and dry down is
Thank you so much for sending these! I have really been enjoying them. I filmed this about two weeks ago and I have worn these a lot since too! It's such a CZcams bias that it is easier to talk about stuff that you love than you don't. 🤷♀️
Wow, that is such slow shipping... I am waiting for someone to send me a fragrance on eBay but they are having trouble negotiating the regulations for sending perfume parcels. I hope they manage it eventually 😂
@@dr.claire.perfume the forever problem of shipping DANGEROUS GOODS ! lol!
@@PaolaBianka I don't understand how they can possibly be that dangerous. They are sealed bottles!
Thank you indirectly for giving us more Claire analysis content!
@@CRAMDVoiceLessons no problem, genuinely love these! 🥰
I’ve never smelt intense cafe, the cafe one sounds good but would prefer if it’s more feminine leaning !
I can send you a sample when I buy some more vials. ❤️
Try Genmaicha tea. Rice and tea combo like je ne sais quoi
Ooh thank you for the suggestion ❤️
The note line up for this fragrance looks like it’s a nice warm cozy comforting creamy sweet fragrance! Sandalwood, vanilla, tonka, butter, milk, heliotrope, coffee and cinnamon!😍😍
Yes it is, really lovely that one! I think you would like it for sure! ❤️
Café Cabanel sounds like a lovely coffee scent that I should add to my collection. ☕
I think you would love that one for sure! ❤️
Thank you for introducing me to this brand. The coffee cabanel sounds like something I would like.
Great review 💞
Thank you! I love cafe cabanel! I hope you get to try it! 💕
Hi lovely! So sweet of Paola to send you these samples! I haven’t tried any from this house. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
Yes Paola was so generous to send these! I was so excited to try them 😊
Nice sharing my friend 👌👌🌹❤💕💜💖
Thank you ❤️
Hey hey! I’ve been intrigued by this brand. Did you do something to your hair? It looks so healthy and vibrant! Obsessed with the curls😍 Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! No, I think I just don't know how to use a ringlight still so it's different lighting every time. Also my hair does what it wants, it's not under my control so it's luck if it is shiny 😂
Cafe Cabanel has been on my list for about a year. I keep going back and forth about it. Love the sound of it, bit I have similar fragrances. Oh La La sounds interesting! I love all the notes. Thank you for the thorough review Claire! ❤️
I can imagine with a bigger collection you would have similar things. I love the cinnamon. It's almost verging on smokey. I can really smell butteriness in it too like a liquid caramel. Best example I've smelt of that but I haven't tried as much as you have! 💕
Oh la la is really great
Hi Claire!!! I so want Rendez Vouz, have you tried it? is mimosa I think, I tried a while ago and I remember I love it at first sniff, hopefully soon! Xoxo.
Ooh I've not tried that one! Mimosa is a beautiful note though! I can see why it might be love at first sniff! 🥰
Great content, thank you for sharing and stay connected. Like 31
Thank you ❤️
Je Ne Sais Quoi is a lot of fun. I don’t think I’d purchase a bottle but sometimes I second guess that decision 🙂 My love for the perfume depends on my mood. Because I’m ambivalent I probably won’t get it. Probably 🤔
Haha, your indecisiveness sounds like me 😂 I definitely have different tastes depending upon mood and season. I don't think I will get any of these, but I do think they are all really good and I can totally see me loving a bottle of any of these. I am trying to cut down on my purchasing a bit and sample more. That's the plan anyway 😜
@@dr.claire.perfume we do sound alike 😄 I’m not purchasing additional fragrances right now either. Samples are so much fun and bring me joy. I’m trying to be content with what I have.
@@Scents4em I want to try to use a few bottles up, perhaps also do some decluttering. My taste has changed this last year as I've really expanded my collection and a few could do with being resold to recoup some coins to continue the obsession 🤦♀️
Just received a sample of Je ne sais Quoi. I will try it one of these days now that I have heard your thoughts on it.
What a coincidence! I would love to hear what you think! ❤️
@@dr.claire.perfume So my scent of the night is Je ne sais Quoi. You were right about the rice note. I can't believe how realistic it is. The Perfumers really did a good job here. Just don't know If I would like to go around smelling like rice and making people hungry 😂
@@ScentedByMwendi 😂 it's crazy how real it smells! ❤️
Good morning darling 🤩
Hello Frances! Hope you are having a great weekend. 😘
Hello Claire, thank you for this video! I'm quite interested in Oh La La. Since it has iris, do you think it smells luxurious and elegant? 🙂
I just retried it and for me it is very elegant. Teo Cabanel fragrances all have a sort of reserved richness that I think really reflects their quality. I would rate them amongst some of the nicest fragrances I've smelt still. They are interesting but very wearable. Oh là là one of those your skin but better fragrances. If you love orris, iris, musk and sandalwood, you will enjoy it. The nuttiness really compliments that. I hope that helps. 🥰
Hello Claire, thank you for showing Oh la la 🤗 I'm interested in this Teo Cabanal fragrance for a long time, but everybody talks about the coffee one 😅
I know! That's the only one I'd heard of too! 🤦♀️ I can see why, it's the most instantly likeable and the easiest to understand.
Hey Gorgeous!
Hi Ketra 😍
Good day Dr Claire, you know what I've not tried any of them ones. I know Cafe C is the hyped one but everyone loves that Mancera one and I wasn't it's number one fan. So unsure about that.
The other two sound more interesting, the je nais yea I get what u mean sometimes it's nice to have something that we find interesting and unique for us in alone time. Sometimes probably not the best ones for the pub
Whaaat?! I have finally tried something that you haven't??? Shocker!!! Only thanks to Paola ❤️
You are going to have to narrow it down for me on "that Mancera one". I don't know (obviously) but I think you would like café cabanel. I am pretty sure too on number two and less sure you would like the last one. It's interesting but I am not sure how often I would reach for it. But it is so intriguing, the rice is so... ricey 🤣
LOL I go to the pub about 4 times a year sadly so pretty safe there. Wish it were more but most of the ones in Wakey are a bit uninviting. My old favourite pub turned into a really horrible bar with pumpy music in 2019, I liked it when it was all charity shop East German decor, pot plants and old leather sofas but apparently no one else did. I do like Fernandes brewery tap too but it is so difficult to get a seat and it's the other end of Wakefield and I'm too lazy to walk that far on a regular basis 😂
@@dr.claire.perfume oh I can't remember the name of the wakey pub I liked, near the top of the street, you'd walk down stairs into it, had pool tables and the back smoking area lead upto the top street. Rough but fun.
Ahhh it's snowing like crazy up here... Damn it...
Anyways erm intense cafe, montale not Mancera. Yea didn't love it but you might do 😊
@@scentedsnowdrops more snow! I think it's meant to be bad up there til Tuesday no?
I thought you might mean intense café. I wasn't in love with it either. It felt foggy to me 😂 and the oud was a bit weird... I don't think Gabi loved it either. She ranked her Montale fragrances and put it last and said she wasn't sure about it. I will try it more though...
Not sure which pub that is 🤔 unless it's the one across from Trinity Walk Sainsbury's by the leisure centre. That is super rough, not just rough, and not that central, so it's probably not that one. Black Rock, Henry Boons, Red Lion, The Hop??? Not sure! None are that rough though, so might not be any...
@@dr.claire.perfume youre right I've blended two together the pool tables was one up an alley. And the central one was just a touch rough. This was ten years ago 🤣. There was another with a pool table further down the street with food and a conservatory bit posher. And one down some stairs practically underground, very rough and tiny. I then the club oppooiste the banks. Yea i went to wakey alot 🤣 that and Halifax were our rough but fun nights out.
I don't know how long it's here, want it to go tho
@@scentedsnowdrops yeah Wakefield had a big reputation at that time for being where Leeds rugby and football players went to pull. It got super rough at one point and the number of clubs got out of hand. I think it's more pubby now. I haven't been to a club in years, no way I would go now except in a huge group or something. I am probably still young for the Wakefield club clientele though 😂 my new PhD student was trying to get me to go to some cheesy club in Leeds. You never know, I might crack, but unlikely. Think I'd just feel old.
I used to go to meetings about Peterborough clubs when I was with the police. One of the strategies that the police adopted to curb violence at chucking out time was to give out free lollipops when people were leaving clubs. Apparently if men are sucking lollipops they are less likely to start a fight! 🤣
Hello cleria It is a great pleasure for me to meet you in this huge big house whose roof is blazing with stars. I want you to always know that. Knowing that no sin on earth can pollute your unique beautiful soul, I want you to always live in hope and never lose your love and joy, may everything be filled with love with your beautiful heart and soul.
Thank you for your kind words. 💕
The names of the first two sound good. Let me hear the notes loool
These are all really beautiful perfumes, it you get the opportunity to try these, please do, I think you would love cafe cabanel!
@@dr.claire.perfume yesss a coffee fragrance. I am there. I do want to try intense cafe but sometimes montale have a synthetic note 😥
@@aniscents3497 did you try intense café in the end? I can't remember! If not I can send you a sample when I get some more vials. Let me know! ❤️
