I remember going to Chuck E Cheese when I was younger, that Helen Henny animatronic would always stare at me.

The animatronic would specifically only stare at me when I got near the stage, none of the other animatronics did it. If I came in left or right of the stage, Helen Henny would death-stare me. However the Chuck E Cheese is to my belief, getting remodeled.

Yup! Chuck E Cheese has been removing their stages for quite some time now, Dawko if you're ever curious, there's a youtuber called Sets Streets and Eats who visits the stages frequently and has been keeping track basically of all the stages left in the world.
In March I recently visited my local Chuck E Cheese here in Canada and the manager even confirmed to me that our animatronics are soon to be removed, specifically around the end of this year. The remodels specifically are called the 2.0 remodel and they remove all the animatronics and old wall decor from the places, and replace it all with new, more modern wall art and decor, but the biggest change being that the stage is replaced by a giant Tv screen, and a (in my opinion, relatively small) dance floor.
The words of the manager I talked to being specifically that; "I know you and your friends were over there looking at the animatronics, but if you looked around, almost nobody else was in the stage area. The kids simply just don't look at the bots anymore like they used to. I know theres people out there who love them and dont want to see them go, but in all honesty, they're hard to maintain, especially because they're REALLY old....and as much as i hate to say it, its just a dying art form."
A survey went around from Chuck E Cheese corporate about what people want to see in the 2.0 remodels, which possibly opens up the possibility for the stages being saved, but its highly unlikely as, like you said, so far only one stage is keeping their animatronic band.
As a FNAF fan and a Chuck E Cheese/RAE/IRL animatronics in general fan, its sad seeing animatronics slowly fading into obscurity and a thing of the past.
I hope one day they'll make a return. Somehow some way, but even I know the chances of that are pretty slim.

I very much disagree with the notion that most people don't care about seeing the CEC animatronics anymore, i blame the company for not turning off the lights during shows and turning the volume down.
CEC has made themselves irrelevant by doing this.

@@prufan I also second this, I personally dont agree that people dont care anymore, actually believe it or not when I went there and was looking at the stage with my friends, they actually did turn up the music for us, and people began to slowly head over to the stage

Yeah SUCH an underrated gem, made by one of the most prevalent and popular fnaf fan game dev teams ever, and also got a ton of CZcams coverage on it's release with thousands and thousands of downloads on Gamejolt. Soooo underrated. 🙄

To be fair, the real Chuck E Cheese company is probably worried that someone will pull a copycat murder or prank with their animatronics based on FNAF. They probably hate the comparison.
...But if I were them, I would also start a whole separate horror-based company with the old animatronics for older kids.

Animatronics are extremely expensive to maintain. They almost went bankrupt in 2020 because of it.

One positive is that Chuck E. Cheese's did put out a survey recently to get a better idea of what it is that patrons would like to see in the restaurants. One of the options for retheming is intentionally supposed to create a retro, nostalgic environment more suited for adults who grew up with Chuck E. Cheese than any other demographic which does sound very promising. Additionally, from what I can remember, the survey did ask about the animatronics and how people feel about their removal. If a lot of support is shown for the retro restaurant concept, I can easily see multiple locations accommodating this change. I wouldn't be surprised if animatronics were added to the restaurants again, but they would almost certainly be updated electronic servo based models that would be easier to repair and maintain than hydraulic or pneumatic models. This is probably an overly optimistic interpretation of recent events, but it does make a lot of sense that if the company itself is willing to acknowledge a full scale retheme of the restaurants as well as the public response to the removal of the animatronics, I don't think it's too far fetched to assume that, it they do decide to bring back the animatronics, it would be in a way that's more cost effective and innovative. The original animatronics will always be wonderful, but it's difficult to deny the fact that they were very outdated and extremely expensive to maintain and repair since the parts they require often can't be purchased and have to be fabricated by a professional. Large corporations like Disney can afford the upkeep of their older theme park animatronics, but the same can't be expected from a smaller company that, like many other public entertainment and restaurant locations, took a massive financial hit during the pandemic. I hope that Chuck E. Cheese as a company will listen to all of this feedback and hopefully make changes that will appeal to more people. And even if they don't, I'm still holding on to the hope that we will at least get some FNaF themed attractions in the near future that can further revitalize public interest in this type of entertainment.
While i have no evidence to back this up, I believe they are getting rid of the animatronics for various reasons.
1: animatronics require a lot of upkeep, they can malfunction a LOT. This is a problem when they are in plain view of everyone in the building. Unfortunately there are many MANY instances of the employees not able or not willing to keep the animatronics in good shape. Aside from them occasionally moving in an unintended way, the suits can be very worn out from years of constant use, sometimes the animatronics don’t work at all, and they may even be left in such a damaged state that they can just be missing things like half their head. This actually happened.
2: its possible that the animatronics require more money and resources to keep running all the time, and a dance floor may be cheaper in the long run. Especially if nobody is paying attention to the animatronics anymore.
3: related to the point above, the only people that are probably still paying attention to the animatronics are FNaF fans and terrified toddlers. The company probably is uncomfortable with people acting as if their band is comprised of murderers.
I myself will greatly miss the animatronic band too. as creepy as they were, they were a core memory to the chuck e cheese experience. Like dawko said, I’m glad they are at least keeping one band active, the company does know that there are people out there who love the animatronics and don’t want to take away part of their childhood.
The company has wanted to get rid of the animatronics for ages (since the early 2000's) due to the difficult maintenance, and have been slowly going about doing so (by not turning off the lights during shows and turning the volume on them super low), they then proceed to say that kids were not paying attention to the animatronics anymore and it's just taken this amount if time to actually get rid of them.

This game is pretty underrated imo. It's not perfect (but what is really ?) yet it's very well made and immersive with some unique gameplay and terrifying animatronics !
I wouldn’t say it’s underrated. there’s plenty of videos that have gotten over 100k views.

@@Surveyorgaming but determining its popularity on specific franchises fnacec only managed to get popular at the time of its release. Compared to other games they are are still popular as to this day.
They are considering keeping a few locations the same with the animatronics but they'd be retro stores instead i think. I think the biggest one everyone wants saved is the one in Pineville, which I actually went to see myself. The special thing about that specific location is that they have Creative Engineering built bots instead of the ones you typically see in most stores. The animatronics in this game are based on the portrait versions of the characters, they were the first ones installed back in the 70's but I may be wrong. Here's a cool fact, originally the bots not specifically used in the Pineville location, but the majority of them were former Rock-a-fire characters before they were CEC ones. That specific band sung the same song used in the FNAF movie trailers, so that's pretty neat.

I remember going to Chuck E Cheese when I was little, and I always thought that fnaf was like chucky cheese based on so many references. But although I can see why the locations are going away, because a lot of incidents in Chucky E Cheese, that happened years ago.
I've been so excited when he made this because this is by far my favorite fnaf fan game plus the graphics and game design is really good.

They still have an animatronic stage in mississauga (next to toronto) for any canadian viewers that want to see them. Went there once and even though theyre in super rough condition they still preformed songs, pretty fun for animatronic lovers!

5 years ago??? Time sure flies fast, I never got to go into a Chuck E Cheese and see all the animatronics since I live in Australia, in a non massive town, but I always wanted to! I watched videos of Chuck E Cheese and Showbiz Pizza just to get a feel for it, anyway! Hope everyone has a great day!

This is still one of my all-time favorite fnaf games with JR's being my absolute favorite, and man does it still hold up. The designs and renders are so well done, it really makes you remember just how unsettling classic animatronics can be, especially in the right lighting. I really hope we one day get an official fnaf game with these types of animatronics, even if it's a spinoff or something they still have so much potential.

I wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese as a little kid since I saw the commercial on television. From the first time I went, that was my FNaF. But now I want them to stay (lol) in the locations because that is just a piece of history.
God, I’m gonna miss Chuck E Cheese animatronics. My cousin’s special needs, and his special interest has ALWAYS been Chuck E Cheese and its animatronics- he loves making his own out of paper and cardboard, his room’s been filled with them as long as I can remember. He’s been very upset about hearing that Chuck E Cheese has gone bankrupt and is taking out the animatronics, he’s been doing everything to try and get them to stay. Made a club at his school, wrote a letter to Chuck E Cheese.. I know there’s only so much the company can do since they’re bankrupt (they did send my cousin game tokens when they wrote back, and I can’t remember if they said they can’t bring the bots back or if they have no plans to bring them back), but I hope they make a come back one day because of him :)

Place somewhere called Smittys Super Station in Mississippi I think that has a lot of old CEC animatronics from the king animatronic which was supposed to be an Elvis look alike to the OG 70’s band. Someone did a CZcams video of I can’t remember who it was.
Edit: TheCarpetBagger was the person. He’s got some cool videos of CEC and other animatronic places. They even have the Rockfire explosion from ShowBiz/Billybobs wonderland in that place. It’s one big animatronic collection pretty much from ShowBiz pizza/ the early years of CEC. They even have the tokens and tables, cups you name it from the restaurants even some toys from the prize counter I think.

It'd be neat if Radiance actually touched this game and it's concepts again. I'd love to see more haunted Pizza Time Theaters or even Showbiz Pizzas in this same visual style and in this same universe.
(also the weird lore implications behind The Suit that mirror it's holding in that one ending is WAY too interesting to not expound upon).
