Idk, I don't think he has that kind of time. But then again, he did check out her "Flesh, Without Blood" music video which is his favorite song of hers bc it's what connected them (based on a mutual joke they both had). Also he tweeted out her collab video with Janelle Monae and called it one of the best visual art pieces he'd ever seen. And then a month later, he brings her to the Met Gala. So I'm sure he did a bit of research, but there's no way of knowing how much. However he did email the Wall Street Journal that “I love C's wild fae artistic creativity and hyper intense work ethic", so I'm assuming he knows enough about her to come to that conclusion.

I LOVE Clare's air of confidence, and brilliant creativity! She is the same age as my kids, and looks so much like my sister's two kids that it blows me away. Amazing to think and see that she created every single note and every instrument you hear! She has a beautiful soul and I can't count how often I stop by just to watch her over the years. This is such soulful work!

Oh, man! If you have passion that requires hours of tedious concentration, as she does, you can get fixated one something that can take you into sleep deprivation -- where taking a break for nutrition, or to take a shit, or to shower for God's sake, is a nuisance. It's like, "Dammit, why do I have to piss right now.. I'll hold it... Okay gotta go... not now... damn! I'm in a zone right now, where is a bucket!".
I have a deep appreciation for this artist. I zone when software (writing) or 3D modeling or while do some multimedia composition and sometimes my work leads me to shower-less days on end LOL! Have you ever just looked at your desk, or your work space, and thought to yourself, "Once I enter, I know I won't leave... I better stay away for day or two and recuperate!"?
There was one time when I found out that I wasn't alone in this type of behavior. I was in a software lecture, a class in my CS major, and the prof said, "I had a good weekend, I finally got to write some code for about 15 hours and got it done...". Spoken like a "passionate doer" of his trade.

that and its just unnecessary to shower everyday like its not good for you hahah, so i think the 1 to 5 times was bit of a joke because if she could it would be 1 time a week or less but when she's doing interviews or going to events or modeling she may end up taking 5 in one week. but i do feel what your saying on a different level and im sure that also plays into it.
This is my favourite video of grimes, on the floor making music, chatting super comfortable. This has stuck in my head for years, though I thought it was longer and she explained the gear on the floor.

I agree with her about being too clean, we get a little dirty and then scrub ourselves with heavy detergents to get rid of it, but our bodies don't build up an immunity to viruses the way they should and can.

Okay my 14 year old daughter turned me on to Grimes. I've been a musician and I havnt been impressed with alot of music currently. Theres something in this music that's really good and I'm not easily impressed. I dont know how long she's been doing this but If I was a producer I'd be all over this. It's 80s, techno, hypnotic. Very well done. Radiohead has that hypnotic appeal that draws you in. Grimes has that as well which is very impressive to me.
