U guys should make another list and this time you'll include the other MegaMan games
Mega Man 8!
I believe it’s fair that a Mega Man X ranking video should be on the cards after this one. Personally, I don’t think it’s controversial that fans consider Mega Man X4 to be the highest point of the series while Mega Man X7 is considered the lowest point.
Callin' it now, X4, X5, and X will be the top 3 in that order.
X4 has some of the worst level and boss design hidden behind great controls, aesthetics and first good playable Zero
It peaked at X1. 2-4 are serviceable to varying degrees while 8 is held back by gimmick stages. The rest are garbage
@@formula091 X1 is worse than any of the PS1 X games and 8 is the worst X game.
@@marx4538 no
Mega Man 4 should be way higher. I get that the charge shot is divisive but it was such an awesome turning point and so fun to use. Plus the stage designs rocked, the new weapons were fun and it has neat little secrets to find. MM4 only gets praised for it's soundtrack these days but I think it has so much more to offer.
Absolutely. 4 feels like the one where they finally got to finish and polish the game properly. It doesn't have the exuberance of MM2, but it's just so well designed.
For my money, I'd swap 3 and 4 on the list. 3 really suffers from being unfinished. It's glitchy and has some sections that work poorly, it has a weapon set that's only so-so with some real stinkers in there, and Doc Robot kinda sucks to fight. It has the potential to be among the best, but it got pushed out to door too soon, and it shows.
Mega man 4 is waaaaayyy better than mega man 2. I could really tell how watchmojo didn't know sheit about mega man and just went for the least controversial picks
MM4 is likely a top 5 for me. I would swap it with 5 in this list and it would be very close to my own list. Quite a good ranking overall.
@@Knight_Man1 Honestly, each Mega Man is better than Mega Man 2 xD
The level design was god awful. It mostly consists of empty rooms, waiting for something until you can proceed, useless weaponry and lots of unfair passages where you're forced to get hit or even die. The Wily Stage 4 boss sums the whole game up pretty well. The game is VERY player unfriendly.
I also love how they reason Mega Man 2 to be the best one by naming aspects every following game also has.
@@EntoneTori I take it you've also watched nico evaluates?
I have to disagree about Mega Man 7 being one of the easier games. The final boss fight is definitely one of the hardest ones.
Megaman 11’s double gear system was so damn good.
Genuinely one of the most nonsensical rankings of these games I've ever seen
yeah the very first megaman on rank 9, what a joke
I love how the lists connects the number of the games
Mega Man 2 is by far my favorite in the franchise. They definitely have the best bosses. Great job Ty.🤘
I wish there was a new Mega Man game for his 35th anniversary.
maaan mega man 8 brings back so many memories
Mega Man 8 on the Sega Saturn and in Japanese is the cat's meow.
It still amazes me that Dr Wily's creation was the one to save the world in the end, not Dr Light's. I guess he was right after all 😅
i have a very contrasting ranking
1. 10 - great combat, balanced fairly, 3 playable characters, fantastic soundtrack, memorable levels
2. 7 - unique in a great way, the game has a charm to it that makes it a delight every time i play it
3. 4 - easily one of the most balanced, most of the weapons are great, each stage was unique and it introduced the two castle gimmick which is great
4. 6 - same as 4 really, the rush adaptors are fantastic as well, and the soundtrack is amazing
5. 11 - the double gear system is great and was a refreshing game that keeps the core formula but adapts on it well
6. 8 - once you get past some of the bad gimmicks it's a lot of fun. fantastic weapons and some cool boss fights
7. 9 - not bad. made a good comeback but felt slightly unbalanced and the lack of a charge shot on mega man felt cheap
8. 2 - it did a lot for the series and is good in its own respect but honestly it is a bit overrated. clear balancing issues with both stages and weapons. its not bad but i think it overshines the other more-deserving entries
9. 1 - can be fun and bullshit, worth a play every now and then but it is very flawed
10. 3 - it goes from being super easy to super tough and the balance is never consistent. it has some wonderful concepts, boss designs, music, and stages but a lot of it is ruined by the balance issues. still worth a play from time to time.
11. 5 - this is honestly the only one i dont like. some of the music is cool and gravity man's stage is awesome but it really has nothing else going for it. most of the weapons are boring and function like busters but worse, the charge shot is beyond overpowered, the amount of extra lives that fall is way too much, making the game always too easy and rather boring. nintendo was pressuring capcom to release megaman 5 and 6, and you could really feel the lack of passion and love for the series in the fifth entry.
Mega Man 10's my favorite too
@@samuelpounds1475 It's mine too.
Mega Man 8 was the first game I got my hands on, as a kid, i was 7 yards old and I fell in love with it, the gameplay to the characters to the music it's the best out of all of them, Mega Man 8 #1❤
I believe the 8 bit Mega Man games are the best when it comes to gameplay; as someone who plays games for fun plain and simple, I would play EVERY game in the Mega Man series from 1987 to 1995. I may not be part of the Mega Man fandom but, as someone who has always loved smaller indie games inspired by older 1980-1996 games, I would certainly try every single 8 bit Mega Man out. Besides, I don't believe the majority of games made in the 16 bit and especially 8 bit eras were played for their story alone, they were much more about gameplay, mechanics, and sprite/graphical/level design. The story itself only became important during and after the PS1 and PS2 eras.
Big fan o MM here, but my opinion about the best are kinda unpopular: Mega Man 7 and X3
When i was little i only had megaman 2, always remember my brother and a friend beating it, watching them get frustrated over that one particular boss or the big boss like the Dragon or the wall one you blow up with crashman's weapon.
When you get to Dr. Wily at the very end and he turns into the Alien with the boss music ! Just so freaking epic that fight !
Hands down i would say that is also the top Dr.Wily fight ever !
Excellent ranking! Megaman 2... I don't know how many times I've played through it and still do.. It's the best hands down.. SOundtrack is timeless.. I like the soundtrack on megaman 3 as well close to as good as megaman 2...
2 is the best no doubt about it. I think the newer/younger players don't understand how great it was when it first came out compared to other games at the time. The music, the intro, the feel, the innovation wow.
11. The voice acting sounds like it was all done in one go. Did they not have time to do any retakes?!
7. Try fighting the Wily Capsule and then try telling me this game is easy!
4. Not to mention the voice acting actually sounds good. Take notes Mega Man 8.
Bro it was 1998, I dont think they cared lol
I enjoy Mega Man 8 regardless of its damming flaws. The anime like art style felt inspiring for the time, and the opening theme was so much fun, yet Capcom couldn’t even get proper voice acting for the characters at all. Also, Bass makes further appearances, but not Duo?
I do enjoy 2, but loved 3 more because of the more pivotal features such as the Slide and Rush.
You call 7 easy even though we all know that’s where the toughest Wily fight of all time stands. Even a few other bosses in that game are hard in their own right.
And it goes to show how even when the series felt like it was “nosediving” since Mega Man 4, it continued on stronger than ever.
If there wasnt megaman on megaman 8, it would be considered a hidden gem of the ps1
I'm biased with MegaMan 8 because it's the only game I finished back when it was the only game I could play on the PS1 due to my X button being stuck (it kept pressing itself). What ended up happening was, I could still use the circle button for jumps and slides. The problem was the jump was pressure sensitive but since the X button was already pressed, my jumps were always too high. Good thing I was able to manage it through. Another thing that happened with my situation is that the Rock Ball (or was it Mega ball in the US version?) can be stepped on while MegaMan is on the air and if I keep dropping Rock Balls, he just steps on them consecutively and seemingly fly. This allowed him to land on harder to reach platforms.
Also, I finished the game without the convenience of a memory card (because we didn't have one at the time) so everything I did from start to finish was all from memory until all the stages felt like reflex. It was a long journey.
If voice acting is a concern the Japanese version is really good. It's just unfortunate you don't have subtitles.
happy 35th anniversary megaman!!! :3
6,2,1/powered up(love it for being able to play as roll & the robot masters and wish we'd get a port with all the extras in it/the next game does that.),4 & 8(hope we get another megaman game with anime cutscenes.)/9(favorite revival game.).
I like mega man 7 the best mostly because I love the Rush Armor Adapter and I wish they would bring it back.
I honestly liked Megaman 7, even if it was easy. Because the features like the secrets and the powerups were fun... but Megaman 2 is the real gem. Still, the best Megaman games as far as I'm concerned if you expand past the classic series is the Zero games, specially Z3, though I also really loved X and X4.
Because of your comment, I'm looking forward to playing megaman 7 thanks 😁
As someone who’s slept on this series WAY too long…should I jump in at 7, then start at 1 and continue? Or 7, then 2, then go from there? (Ps, this vid’s comments section is opinionated af, its hilarious! 🤣 “Chill bros. Lots of games for everyone”)
You forgot Mega Man and Bass. It's still an entry in the classic era series but it's among the hardest game in the series. Just take a look at Burner Man and King's Fortress. And this is also one of those games where you gotta know your collision right down to the millimeter in regards to it's platforming (just take a look at Ground Man's stage to see what I mean, pixel perfect jumps with tight spaces so you can't get much hangtime), one pixel off and you're dead.
And he basically admitted to its existence in the Mega Man 9 write-up.
2 and 3 have abusrd collision issues though, far worse than RM&F. Stuff like some of the Doc Robots and Yellow Devil MkII's hitbox appearing before it even fully forms is laughable
@@marx4538 at least with 2 they were still ironing out the issues and 3 was rushed. MM&B ain’t got no excuse, it’s just extremely dickish on purpose
@@officialFredDurstfanclub
MM&B barely has any inconsistent bosses, it just has challenging ones, and even those that are a pain like Dynamo Man usually just waste your time. Doc Quick and Doc Wood are complete abominations and I don't care what the reason was, they're the worst fights in the entire classic series.
I wonder when the next games coming out and also which ones
Surprised 4 was so low. Good list nonetheless. I beat MM2 yesterday for his 35th💙
Its hard to go back to the first Mega Man game😅

I was absolutely obsessed with MM2 when it came out. But every subsequent game improved upon it. (Well, the NES ones, anyway…) It has nostalgic value, but there is no way it’s objectively the best.
9:07 never heard a more ironic sentence in my life
100% agree with 8 being at the bottom, but 6 really deserves to be higher up the list.
Thing is, once you pass the 2 or 3 games that are obviously worse, then they're all great. Tough to find which is better between 6, 5 and 4 imo, it comes up to personal preference. I too like 6 a lot.
Mega Man 9 in the #2 spot? No way, that game is so damn hard. So unbalanced. That's the only game in the series that I cannot beat. I would have ranked it at 6 or 7.
10 is harder than 9…
MM9 can't NOT be in a top 3 classic mega mans.
I ain't believe how y'all put Mega Man 8 as last. It's easily top 5. Voice acting isn't a strong enough reason to knock any media down in my opinion.
Yeah I love Mega Man 8 for it's gorgeous sprite work and super fun soundtrack. I think people rank it low for some of the stage designs.
It looks great and the soundtrack is amazing but top 5? Hell no, there’s a lot of just poor ideas from a game design standpoint, specifically the forced use of the mega ball and a lot of ideas that were just poorly implemented in the main robot master stages
I agree that Mega Man 2 & 9 are the best in the series. Whenever I need a little Mega Man jolt, those are the first games I go back to. I also prefer the games without the charging Mega Buster. It just makes regular enemies and bosses take more hits to beat and longer to kill than in the other games. Not an improvement.
What’s a good selling price? To buy this games, on Steam store. when they are on Discount. If anyone has the time to help me.
Any fan of the blue bomber isn't surprised by number one. But any true fan of the series that had put extensive time into the mega man games knows that it is not worthy of that spot. Best music I'll accept that but best in classic series not a chance. Just because you could beat a Nintendo game when you were 8 years old doesn't make it the best. In this case it just means that metal blade is broken. Great game. Middle of the pack on classic series.
Not a bad list. For me... you have 8 WAY too low, it's outstanding. You have 9 WAY too high. At best it's middle of the pack. And 11 would be the top contender to beat 2... it doesn't, but it's close!
Mega man 2 is doggy doo doo. I dare you to tell me any good qualities about that mess
How anyone would like 8 better than 9 is beyond me, but you do you
did you play all the great megaman fangames ;) ?
2, 3, 10, 5, 9, 7, 6 , 1, 4, 8 for me. Need to play 11 still.
Mega Man 9 is my favorite game because of Galaxy man because of his theme
Of course Mega Man 2 is gonna be #1.
MM2 my fav really loved MM2-MM4 5,6, and 7 were ok
Oof... 9 and 11 that high huh.. I feel the exact opposite about those games. Also am I the only one who really loves 8? I thought the bad voice acting was freaking hilarious, the anime cutscenes were actually pretty badass and it had a good challenge factor albeit definitely lots of trial and error. And I think it has some of the coolest looking robot masters design wise
MegaMan 8 is so memorable
Megaman 7 : easiest stages : hardest final boss foem
I don't see how 8's art direction is too kiddie or cartoony when it's in line with all of the Japanese artwork done up until that point. Unless designs like Ice or Wood Man are the epitome of mature design, I'll never understand how such a comically ignorant talking point has persisted for so long.
Maybe cuz it's more colorful? I don't know either. Literally none of the criticisms for MM8 make any sense outside of some of the autoscrollers being divisive and *maybe* a couple of the weapons being pretty lackluster.
@@emeraldoreo4953 they make sense, almost every stage is gimmicky, the checkpoints in mid stages and refill of weapons after death make the game way too easy and the animations are a bit problematic because of the 2d-3d mix, sometimes you cant tell by the depth of a background item or mob when theyll hit you by contact, such as the Hammers in grenade man stage or the ones in Sword man's trials.
The game is just not very good
I prefer the Mega Man Battle Network, sure its a grind but charming like Pokemon. Looking forward to that list.
Hey there! Sorry for the late comment, but I'm seeing a lot of suggestions for Battle Network, but I'm not sure if there's an "ideal start point" or not.
Are there any "everyone should at least play this entry" examples?

Every mainline Kirby game ranked.
Next in the list: Every Megaman X Game RANKED.
Why?
Because Megaman X is celebrating it's 30th Anniversary since the release of Megaman X on the SNES.
Megaman 2 is great but not the best. It has legit issues that imo take it out of the contest, first being the bosses. Second being ifs balance (metal man saw blade is ridiculously overpowered) i think people have fond memories just because its soundtrack is amazing and its a pretty casual playthrough.
Megaman 3 is the goat, followed by 4
@zeusapollo6504
vor 0 Sekunden
MM2 is casual until you choose difficult at the start screen. Yeah MM3 is probably better, also good OST and you can slide, which feels smoother. Metal Man Saw Blade was op and fun i definately missed it in MM3. Maybe another reasion is the colour palaette, MM2 looks more colourful with brighter colours and it has 2 things that are were nice for 80ies kids, a robot Dragon Boss and Alien Boss.
I think a common mistake is to only rate the gameplay of games, while a big part of any game even 8 bit game is its art. Sprite Artwork and OST for example. Its very important, especially if the gameplay is all the same in like 6 titles. For instance, MM1 has a more darker colour tone and looked for some reasion boring and the music was also not that memorable. The only memorable thing was its brutal difficulty, when you played it the first time as a kid, with no guides and no save states and no internet to google stuff up. I beat this game as a kid together with Castlevania 1 but it wasn't easy in the 80ies, with limited time on a TV screen in the living room and no guides, stuff like the first part of the Gutman stage and Yellow Devil boss, took a lot of practise or glitch abuse, which i did know, so i beat this dude with select and electro weapon, coordinating the jumps is just too exhausting, his parts moved faster than the Yellow Devil Mark 2 boss in MM3.

What about "please"?
MM4 at number 8? No way, should be much higher.
not to forget MM2 has also the most OP weapon in all games, the Metal Blade. you can beat the entire game with just this weapon, it is nearly impossible to run out of it.
Technically incorrect 😅
Boobeam trap and the alien hologram won't take damage from it.
not to mention it can be fired in 8 directions making this weapon the most useful of all the special weapons in megaman
If MM2 is first, MM3 should be second. Its longer than MM2, has some of the robots of MM2 back as bosses and its own great OST similar as MM2. For instance compare both of the first tage wiley themes of MM2 and MM3, i think they are equally good and of high quality for a 8 bit system.
9:05. Not surprised. Just disappointed.

Even though it wasn't my first Megaman game, MegaMan 6 (last in the NES series which could have been better), was my first bought MM game after my crazed friend let me borrow all the games up until that time back in the mid 90s (6th grade). 2nd fav was Mega Man 8, which was a branch off from Nintendo, but it felt more close to playing a cartoon or episode for me. No one liked the the soccer ball idea? I thought it was cool and playful (at the time). Though, yeah, very frusterating. And lastly, Mega man 11, though extreamly hard on hard, its easy on easy. They finally learned the levels of difficulty for these games. All games should follow this level of difficulty set up. Some people just don't do "difficulty" right. Cough cough (street fighter), cough....excuse me. There is no such thing as "difficulty" when it comes to fighters. It's NEVER easy. Which means there ARE no levels. Just put it ALL the way up and go through it. Speaking of which,...did anyone play the street fighter megaman anniversary "free" game for download off Capcom's site they had years ago?

@GIT_4Yt get a life scammer.
I don't know why Megaman 2 is always considered as the best. Sure it's a big step from the first episode and the main music is incredible, but it's still has some mediocre levels and bad level-design choices.
If we dont take in account the order of release it's just average compared to later episodes
It added a lot of core elements to the games of the future.
It's not even a big step up, 1 has less terrible design decisions than 2 and 3, which deserve credit for pushing the series forward but definitely don't deserve being called good games, at least to me. I've played them a lot and you won't believe how much of a broken mess they both are.
I always found it amusing when people praise 2's level design with a bland "it's good" while offering no particular examples. You can list off a ton of horrible design choices, that funnily enough the first game doesn't even make though (not to say it didn't fumble). That's just what happens when you let early CZcamsrs dictate your opinion.

3 has the worst controls out of all NES games, inputs get eaten left and right, basic turning can take far longer than it ever should have and the game is insanely glitchy, to the point where one of the most interesting and unique weapons in the series, the Top Spin, is completely broken
In 1, aside from the footholders, falling being broken and the fights against CWU-01P and Copy Robot, there's nothing egregiously bad. Sure, most bosses are meh but it doesn't get as bad as 3 where fights like Shadow Man, Doc Wood, Doc Quick or Holograph are insanity, or the less flawed fights such as Needle Man, Doc Flash or Wily Machine III having really bad issues like Wily Machine being able to spawn big orbs even after you destroy the cannon. Not to mention that 1 at least has a good final boss and not whatever Gamma is
3's pacing is killed by the Doc Robots and some stages like Gemini Man also just drag on for too long. 1 has worse level design sometimes but it's a more consistent and fun game despite 3's highs arguably being higher.
Also, the Wily fortress is just anticlimactic. It's not even that bad in terms of stage design, it just doesn't feel like it works as a final stage. Especially since Turtle Maker and Yellow Devil Mk.II are also really easy fights for some reason (aside from Devil Mk.II having some hitbox issues)
I wouldn't say 3 is a bad game but I really don't like returning to it mostly, and I am saying this as someone who does like some of the fights such as Shadow Man despite understanding their issues
I know that this list is indicative of your own opinion, but how in the world is Megaman 6 worse than 1?
Can these be put on the Switch online
Mega Man 8 has one of the worst bosses in all of Mega Man can you guess what it is
Id be surprised if he even played the games. Probably just looked at reviews and put MM2 at the top because its the most popular.
They mentioned too many details about the games to not have played them.

No surprise MM2's #1...it's my personal fave too. funny to think how some of Capcom's #2's blew their respective series up
mm3 is better
No chapters or time stamps what kind of youtube channel is this
3 is the best
I'm just shocked at how bad this list is.
Like Mega Man 4, 7, and 11 are EASILY much better games than 2 will ever bee. 6 is such an underrated gem to!! I have a soft spot for 5, but the charge shot and crappy weapons ruin the gameplay experience. And 8 is kinda there tbh
