Great setup and thanks for the head explanation. The spear can rest in a groove right in the corner of the base. You can see they put that in so you can lean it against the lion head.

It was contagious because I’m happy to get King Conan, Super 7 quality for price is inflated but I’m such a Conan fan.
I will tell you that’s a Lion on his chest piece, Conan was named “Amra” in the Black Kingdoms of Hyboria. Amra means Lion.
As King, he used the Lion as his symbol of strength & power.
I enjoyed your take on Thulsa Doom, yea..he had it wrong but I doubt he believed his own words.
He only said that stuff to manipulate others into joining his cult, get the men serving you & the women servicing you ;)
Doom tried to brainwash & hypnotize Conan but his mind & his will was too strong, forged through a life of struggle & combat.

He's definitely rocking that MOTUC / wrestling body. Chonk! In a good way. The head though, should've been able to do that without all the excessive gapping. Overall solid, looks good. I could be wrong, they could find some way to screw it up whether QC or whatever (never know with Mez) But pretty sure the One:12 will be the GOAT.

This is so cool! I pre-ordered their upcoming Comic book Conan, it is inspired by the John Buscema depiction. I love that old retro comic book art. But these movie ones are so cool, I can kinda gauge how the one I ordered will be since they use pretty much the same bodies, I think?

Two things; I'm fraggin' pissed-off that I decided to cancel my pre-order months ago, only because I've been burned too many times with Super 7. It would figure the one Conan selection that I got cold feet on because I feared it would be crap and not worth it, turned out to be a MASTERPIECE!The only Conan Pre-Orders I've kept were Subotai and Valeria. The second thing us that sword is the Atlantean sword, so it doesn't have the "Crom Creedo". His father's sword (the Master's sword) is the sword that had the "Feel no guilt, you who wield this sword in the name of Crom . . . "
Interesting tidbit that I just found out today, is that the Atlantean King in the tomb (where Conan finds his sword used in the movie, and is the sword in this set), is actually Kull . . . as in Kull The Conqueror (yes that movie with Kevin Sorbo and Tia Carrere).
I forgot to respond to this. I’m not sure how… But I do remember that that’s Cole in the crypt and his Lian… Something that strikes me is the size of Kohl’s skeleton in that chair. He had to be a giant or just a really huge man like. But that skeleton that chairs pretty big. In the film, I mean. Man, I love that movie so much. I got to go back and give all the stories and read.
@@HappyPursuits Yeah, Kull was pretty huge. When Conan goes to lift his hand off of the pommel of the sword, Kull's hand is like twice the size of Conan's! HUGE! I think they were trying to hint at that pre-history period where Giants roamed the earth, and Atlanteans weren't fish people, they were a giant super-race of men. Even the director said in the special about making Conan that he wanted James Earl Jones' character to be the last of his kind, some similar race to Atlanteans. That movie is just 1000 layers of cool woven into its framework. 👍

Yeah they could’ve used the current portrait for the seated Conan and a different expression for the standing. But maybe they didn’t bc in the films he only has this one expression as King.
They did not nail it or do it. The one pose you need and his elbow can't rest on his knee. Same old from super7.

Not really seeing the Arnold likeness. At least not compared to war paint and iconic pose ultimates. This looks more like King Randor from MOTU. Sword is still too big...
Nah it’s def Arnold. Take a look at the final shot from the movie. It’s an older him. The sword is wild big. I cut a half inch off the top with scissors. Size looks great now.
@HappyPursuits I was thinking of trimming mine, but I'm not sure I want to take a chance and end up ruining it. I'm looking forward to the next batch from Super 7, Battle of the Mounds Conan! Hopefully, we'll get Conan the Destroyer one day, which was teased years ago. These figures take years to release. King Conan is cool, but he was only featured in a single shot in the film. Give us a Conan figure from the end of the film when he beheads Thulsa Doom or Conan figure from the tower climb/meets Valeria scene. Keep em coming Super 7!

@@jam_2315super7 almost never fixes things. Since they don’t think they make mistakes. Their Conan sword is so ridiculously large, yet they just refuse to address issues. They had 3 Conans in a row with skin tones not matching between arms and torso. Looks like they may have actually adjusted for this figure but it’s hard to tell.
Super 7 needs to increase the arm bend past 90° on all the figures. This is perfect. All that high price point for suck articulation!!!! Wonderful sculpt. Bad articulation.
