The Making of Coral Universe

Semesta Terumbu Karang - Coral Universe is a monumental ceramic installation that showcases the beauty of life under the ocean’s surface. It is dedicated to the six countries of Coral Triangle region, home to the most biodiverse marine environment in the world. It highlights the beauty and fragility of coral reefs and why we need to act now to protect them.
The installation is designed by U.S.-based ceramic artist and ocean advocate Courtney Mattison and made in collaboration with Indonesian artists Ricko Gabriel, Alfiah Rahdini, Sasanti Puri Ardini, Anak Agung Ivan WB, together with coral reef conservationists and more than 300 volunteers. It was commissioned by the Coral Triangle Center in partnership with Jenggala and government ceramic center BPPT-BTIKK.
Semesta Terumbu Karang - Coral Universe measures 18.6 x 2.5 meters. It has a bullseye that flows into swirls representing Coral Triangle countries. It can be found at the CTC Center for Marine Conservation in Sanur, Bali. It was unveiled on October 28, 2018,
