Dracaenas are an easy-going plant that can live most places in your home. Just don't make the same mistake I did and leave it in a room with too low a temperature! Enjoy!

Good info, thanks. Hopefully my plant will thank you in a few weeks/months
I have a 4 foot tall Dracaena Marginata which I put outside in full sun in the summers, and in the winter it goes in the basement with its head right in a ssssuper small window, it gets barely any light and is blasted by cold air 24/7, I often open the window for hours and it tolerates these conditions like a champ!
the leaves get used to the cold by becoming more leathery, and in the summer the winter leaves do not fall off and the new growth explodes. obviously I pluck them to encourage the crown. the are very very cool plants and they like being spoken to. is you know how to listen, they talk back!
edit: literally what you say in your video, what they don't like I do haha. mine does not mind the cold at all. I am not joking, it receives open window winter air, canadian cold air. you just have to acclimatize it slowly and not shock it.
We found one on a Skip or Dumpster 25 years ago & she now is 8ft tall with a 6ft baby & tiddler- all in same 600mm tall x 400mm wide pot although she fed with Nutri Gro dilute 4 times a year & when dry gets rainwater because our tap water is very hard . It’s the Winter Solstice & a the leaves of the Parent tree below the tip are going brown as with the little one. Poor thing is in an alcove inside a front door plus front door which faces west . Great tip re direct sunlight- have just switched back off the Tortoise UV I thought may help ! It’s been well below 10 degrees C some nights so she’ll get re potted first time in at least 10 years , draughts & cold will be eradicated by moving her into conservatory . I’ll now pay attention to what you’re trying to teach us . 😁👍🐢from nr Bournemouth in SW England
Out of all planttubers you seem the most down to earth, like a nice pal to have a beer with. Love your content 🙌
aphex twin in the background music 💞
I just bought one! I love these plants and they’re a gorgeous addition to my collection :) great video as always!
Ooh super exciting! which type did you get? and thanks 🥰
I love your videos! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your knowledge 🌸 I appreciate you💕
Great info, literal opposite of the peace lilly I have next to it, in terms of how demanding it is. Very helpful, thanks again!
Love this video..simple and to the point..thank you!
Not a fan of these but you reassured me on my pothos! I have 2 older leaves that turned yellow, was just about to freak out, but sounds like it's OK and common. I use a moisture meter and am careful to not overwater
Love that you time stamp your videos in the description!
It says a lot about your vibe that I don't even like the plant but watch the whole video :)
Oh yeah a couple older leaves dropping is totally normal and just part of the plant life cycle!
Aww that means so much to me! I really really appreciate it 🥰 thank you 💚
Very helpful video greetings from Ireland
Thank you for this video
13:55 should I be worried that mine has a lot of brown spots and looks like a light shade of brown not as green and perky like it was . I’ve only had it for almost 2 weeks. I did hear your tips and I will be trying that but I don’t want it to die 😢
Thank you.
I like your video, thank you.
I WAS JUST GIFTED THIS PLANT AND I DIDNT KNOW ITS NAME AND THIS APPEARS ON MY HOMEPAGE
OMG what a coincidence! Perfect timing 😂
Okay so, just got this plant today and looking up care tip videos. I was with my family at a local store today and they had a bin of frost victims that they let us take from because they could no longer sell. The leaves are a bit brown tipped and the plant looks a bit shook but still living. Any tips?❤
I had mine in bathroom in 8 inch pot. Repotted to s 6 inch since her roots are not that big. Now she’s in living room.
Hey my green and yellow Dracaena has 80% brown leaves plz help!
Hey Emma, as for your baby biting the dragon tree IF YOURE OKAY WITH THIS spray her with a water bottle. I have 5 cats and all of them were attracted to biting my plants. I would condition them by using a mister or sprayer and lightly spray them with water when they would bite the plants. (Not animal cruelty but I know some people would think this is mean. However very effective.) now, my cats hang out near the plants, no more biting. Or they just avoid the plants all together, depends on their moods 😅
Thanks for the advice! We've tried doing that but she just does it cuz she knows it'll get us out of bed to stop her... maybe I should give it a go again 🤔
@@GoodGrowing you can also try spray the area with a citrus or lavender scent, cats are sensitive to those and do not like them. Good luck :)
@@GoodGrowing you can strip the dangly leaves of the dracaena safely, just pull down on them once they droop that way you can keep the plant and kitty can't bite the leaves, win-win :)
@@craigbabin7940 Yeah I do take off any drooping leaves but all the leaves on that green one were healthy and happy so i didn't want to remove them
Are you supposed to add curry to the corn plant
I just got one of these and the tag on is just said "assorted foliage" lol😅
So very helpful 😅
Live got a lemon and lime one. I have a friend my white jewel one and wish I hadn't. X
Hmm maybe you can get a cutting back from them if theirs is growing really well 😂
I've had one of these for about 5 years, the Warnaekki, I had it outside for 2 or 3 years and brought it in in the winter. I thought it died a year ago, but it is still green and yellow. It doesn't seem to grow very much. It's in an eight inch pot still for years. I call it the zombie plant because it seems to stay alive and the same no matter what. It doesn't take much water and is the only plant I keep in the back room with the least amount of sunlight. Any way to get this guy growing more?
probably moving it to a brighter spot would increase growth. Ideally bright indirect light. They do tend to grow slowly though and I don't really notice it much as they grow from the middle, but when I go back and look at old pics, I can totally see the difference
I just got one only 19 and I do not know what to do
Is it ok to bottom water it?… and if it’s ok how many minutes should I leave it soaking in the water?
Yeah for sure! You should leave it until the soil gets moist at the top. Depending on plant size it could take like 5-45 minutes or even longer
Hi there. I have a dragon tree golden coast and the leaves are all curled lengthways. Do you know why and what should I do. I’ve had it for about 4.5 years. Thank you 🙏🏾
Sounds like over watering! Or the wrong water 💧
@@danikareuzenaar7890 should I use bottled water? I use tap water then I leave out for a few hours before using it. Thank you 🙏🏾
It's a myth about the Flouride evaporating. It just doesn't happen. I think bottle water is the best option!
Could you do an update video about your Alocasias?
Do you mean the ones grown from bulbs?
@@GoodGrowing Yes
@@west8480 I can defo do an update video :) thanks for the suggestion!
Got 6 for £6... Mine are small, thankfully.
what a deal!
My one and only dracaena is an itty bitty Milky Way and I keep calling it dracenia 😅
aww so sweet! lol I usually pronounce it dra-kin-ay-uh which i know is completely wrong but that's how my brain first read it so now it's stuck! took so much effort to say it properly in this video 😅
