Thank you! Have a blessed day!
Great vid! Just wondering, how long is that bump board?
@@Upgraydez Great question. That bump board is 22" in length.
Most underrated teaching CZcamsr. Thank you for all the great content
Thanks so much and I appreciate you taking the time to watch!
Thanks for this piece of information. I always enjoy watching your videos. They're full of a lot of information that's very useful. THANKS.
I'm glad they are helpful! That means a lot to me. Thanks!
We do grow 'em big down here, lol! The middle part of the day is my favorite time to fish. I've always liked the hard lines and shade bright sun creates. I would love to get you out on the private trophy bass lake and see if we can get you a true giant!
I would love that! We need to book it.
@@SteveRogersOutdoors I'll email you and we can work out the details!
@@LowBrowFishing sounds good
Mid day being 4pm or so?
@LowBrowFishing can you get me in??? I think I'm in your area.
Does anyone catch big bass after dark and are there any dedicated night fisherman
There are lots of dedicated night anglers. I’m sure someone will jump on here and share their experiences.
There's one cat on a TX forum I'm on that loves to yak night fish and he hauls in some hogs. He caught an 8+ PB recently. I'd love to do it more, but the mosquitos and gators squelch it on my home waters. Love your content Steve!
@@user-rb6sy2ys5y thanks for answering this!
There is a guy from Massachusetts who does video about night fishing .Unfortunately I don't remember his name
I like to fish clear nights with a bright moon. Typically use topwater baits.
Where i am at like u, i consider a 5 lb largemouth a big fish and a smallmouth over 4 a trophy... i fish when i can and don't stress about what time i get to the water.. relax and have fun. Some Bass seem to always be hungry 😂.... underwater footage top notch as usual
Thank you for making simple that which I try to make complicated. I enjoy your method of sharing the information. Keep them coming.
I don't know where you and your buddy were fishing in 2000 in Central Illinois, but I live in East Central Illinois.
Steve, I primarily fish when it's sunny and, I have caught my PB's on bluebird days. I have not seen a significant increase when it's cloudy.
Thanks for sharing this!
Love the Bass Professor! He has taught me so much. I fish near his old stomping grounds and just finished he "Big Bass Magic" book!
Nice! Some great stuff there.
Thanks Steve for the great video, I hope to hear the story in detail about the POB smallmouth you caught.
Hey Steve, thanks for not perpetuating the myth that big bass feed up in the fall for winter. Many people think that. What they do not realize is bass are cold blooded creatures and their metabolism is directly proportional to water temps and oxygen levels. As the water warms, so does their metabolism and need to feed. Conversely, in the fall, the water temps cool along with their metabolism and need to feed. With that, they do not need fuel reserves in winter to burn to keep their temps up, or fat to insulate them from the cold. In addition, they cannot store unsaturated fat like warm blooded creatures and have only saturated fat to store for short term body maintenance. Maybe some people feel they are feeding up in fall due to lack of cover, shorter feeding windows, schooling of bait fish resulting in schooling of bass among other things that result in higher catch rates. I like your videos and find they are very helpful. Thanks
Thanks so much for all of this! I appreciate it.
I've watched all of Doug's big bass vid multiple times, learned a lot! All my biggest bass I caught this past year were in middle of day also, including my current PB was caught in dead heat of summer, sun high in the sky. No shade close at all. She was 11 lbs 4 oz
That is a beast! Congratulations!
Wow now that's a big
Thanks, I had a replica done of her & it turned out awesome! My 5 biggest largmouth for 2023 was 7.4 - 8.05 - 8.6 - 9.3 - 11.4 Hopefully this year I can do as good or better. All caught in the kayak with big swimbaits mostly, couple on big worms. I've got a few smaller lakes that I found have some big girls hiding in them. Just found another new lake 2 weeks ago I actually had to cut a path to last weekend. So I'm looking forward to testing it out this week see if it has anything big lurking around? I know no one has fished this lake in years with all the overgrowth that surrounds it! Will be fun to explore regardless
@@maxcole3930 good luck!
@@maxcole3930were they caught deep?
Nice playing and nice bass sound my friend!!🎸
Way to break it down!!! Big Bass is different in certain areas of the USA 🤓 one of the best channels for just Bass Fishing tips!!! 👍
Such a great video as usual!!! Thanks Steve!! 👍
Thanks so much!
You are the best!! I'm a Northern Indiana bass fisherman. Potato creek state park is my home lake and your info has helped me sooo much!!
That is awesome! I am so glad it has been helpful. I have done a fair amount of fishing in Indiana. Been all over the White River, Lake Monroe, Patoka Lake, Cagle's Mill and Lake Lemon. Really enjoyed the White River and Lake Lemon a lot.
My best days and biggest fish were on nice sunny days. I usually fish a Lake Erie tributary. Im gonna try the sun line tip this year for sure! I fish in the shade but also found the laydowns on the sunny side held fish alot of times so I just fish every spot that looks fishy!
Good luck! Let me know how it goes for you.
Steve!!! I know you do lots of instructional videos🤓 what about a special edition on the water coverage🤔 think about it. Just one👍 Loving the tips!!!
Great channel!
Doug hannon would be proud
Thank you! Just love his stuff.
Hey, Steve, pray u are well. Great info. Take care and be safe
Thank you! You as well. I actually have a tiny bit of open water and going to try and film some stuff underwater this week. Fingers crossed. I am working on a comparison between living rubber skirts and silicone skirts in cold water. Can't wait to investigate this one.
My PB was caught in the middle of summer, sunny blue skies right around noon. First cast, my plastic worm fell into a weed pocket.
Was that clinton lake in that photo?
Great video thank you for what you do I am really looking forward to the silicone vs rubber skirt i make my own jigs for about the last 3 years mostly silicone main thing I like about silicone is you can get lots of colors but i do know rubber has its place at times.
Thanks! I hope that this video will be out next. Looking forward to it.
Excellent Video Steve. Man would been nice to have a scale for that smallie, i been there lol.
I know! I should have just not worried about preparing for the tournament and took that fish to a certified scale. It was the biggest I had ever caught for sure. I was quite a few miles out into the lake though and didn't want to lose practice time. Not that it mattered, when that storm blew in I did horrible in that tournament. Lol.
Want to learn more about big bass watch doug hannon the bass professor. Also watch big mouth forever.
I love watching Doug Hannon! I will have to check that other one out. Thank you!
If you can find it there is one called big mouth it has good footage of bass hitting lures. You will see some scenes from big mouth in big mouth forever.
The two biggest I ever caught were in the middle of the day. The biggest smallmouth was not but it probably had more to do with when they kicked on the new turbines and increased the current than the time of day.
Thanks for sharing this! I bet that big smallie did like the current getting kicked on.
Caught my PB midday in the middle of March.
Excellent! Thanks for sharing this.
Love your work!!
Thank you! And thanks for watching.
One of the longest bass i ever caught was 30 1/4" but is was so sickly looking it only weighed 7#2 oz. Caught her on shade line at the end of long canal out by Walt Disney world. Clear blue culprit worm with a pink fire tail.
That is a very long bass! Wow. That had to be something to watch that long fish coming in.
According to the bass length to weight charts, that fish should have weighed 17+ lbs. Did you catch her post Spawn?'
Caught her end of September 1986. Her eyes were so huge she was so poor. My dad had a 14 + on the wall and this fish was 2 inches longer than her and her mouth was considerably larger. I let her go we decided she wasn't worth eating. We were poor
Great video Steve! Well, I hate to break it to you but out here in California it’s not to uncommon for guy’s to catch 10-15lbs bass! That said, check out Butch Brown on CZcams… arguably the best big bass fisherman on earth! The bass he’s caught over the year’s will absolutely blow your mind! 🎣
I don’t even know what I would do if a 15lb’er hit. Lol. Probably panic! I will definitely check him out. Thank you.
@@SteveRogersOutdoors Cheers! Ya, a buddy of mine caught a 13 pound bass a couple years ago! Amazing!
Google Pat Cullen Valdosta Georgia, nobody comes close to him catching big bass
Will do. Thanks!
