I’m hooked on these videos I love that there is no talking… so peaceful and inviting….who wouldn’t want to take shelter on a freezing night inside with the fire going… really speaks to having a safe hideaway where you are completely safe and no one knows where you are…… must be inside all of us to want that….

Greetings, Im an Old man of 70, I live and was raised on a reservation in South Dakota. When I was young at 13 I had a twenty some mile trap line. Itd take two days to cover my trap line sometimes -40 or colder. I always had 3 buffalo robes (2 for shelter) and my dog and me in the other robe. We had a candle (2) actually and in the coldest we were comfortable. Thought Id share for whats its worth. I do enjoy these bushcraft videos and those that make them. Thanks and keep making them. Tearing down hard work has to be hard but building back better has to be joy to know it will not just fall down on you when you need it the most . Love to see you put a spark arrester on the stove pipe ! So many fail to do this doubles as a rain guard .too . Helps to keep out bats ! Far as a stove nothing beats cement for holding power .

I like the "quitness" and simplicity of you're films!! Thank you! And very impressie build... I have a suggestion for your stove pipe, which seems to keep leeking... why not exit horizontaly, slightly downwards trough the "wall" , then turn upwards trough the dirt outside? Then youre moist problems should be fixed, I think?? Keep it up!

Your proposal is ridiculous. When the stove pipe is placed horizontally, then the smoke returns to the room through the pipe and the stove. Everyone knows that @Maarten van der Valk

During the past few days I have been binging these dugout videos. I love them, but wonder how buggy these structures are. I figure being mostly underground, they would be full of bugs and spiders, even in the winter.
If done correctly u won't have the bugs and spiders. Most of these builds are good but lack personal care and just taking the time to do it right. These guys are on here to make a buck and have fun in the wild. They are not living in these so they won't take the time to build it correctly.
