I have something really important to add
Wes is a stereotypical french mime
and lives in france because the bakery is boucherie on the sign.
He saves Witherstone who also lives in france.
After Maxwell moves to america he buys some cheap magic items from Witherstone.
Witherstone is in America but also France. his daughter lives there too so it could be a business trip but that's unlikely.
He kidnaps 4 people before Wes. at most this happened in a month.
So he moves from america to france after his debtor dies for unknown reasons. bit of bad story writing

In the original game it is implied that Maxwell’s motivation for bringing people into the constant is to find someone strong enough and determined enough to claim the throne and replace him.
Also, every player death in the constant is canon and dead survivors are throne back in as part of a purgatory. The constant is a sort of trial for the throne.
Maxwell’s annoyance with the survivors throughout adventure mode is an act. He is making them believe that getting closer to him means that they are winning when in reality he is tricking them into setting them free.
By killing the survivors repeatedly and making them hate him, he is giving them the motive to find him. Once they can’t kill him and they are stuck in a void, their only option is to let him go. He is the one bringing the game to check mate. He didn’t lose.

With Wilbur's circus-like attire, status, knowledge about using tools and machines. Leaves me to believe that Wilbur was one of the escaped circus monkies that the newspaper warned about.
Maxwell has a quote about Wilbur stating "Well I suppose theres no sending you back now." Which could mean that Maxwell accidently sent Wilbur in the constant, but in what way? Maybe when Maxwell was trying to get Wolfgang.

The way you blend in comedy with it all is just sublime. The Don’t Starve lore has always been my favorite part of the game so it’s really nice that there’s a modern video explaining it. Also, genuinely never noticed that the original 8 survivors correspond to the 8 pawns on a chessboard and how Maxwell (the king) is a really weak piece with Charlie being really strong because she’s the queen.

A couple details you missed out on, Charlie is free in this world because of the association to the chess board again. Charlie is the Queen piece, being the most important in raw power for chess. And Maxwell referring to "Them" is not the shadow creatures as you say in 25:52 but in fact more related to the moon, supported by the fact the Fuel Weaver, who is speculated to be one of the old rulers of the kingdom that has fallen to shadows, also refers to "Them" in his line of death "You are not Them" this means the shadow creatures are not "Them" but they definitely communicate with them in some way at some time. And the update of course named, "The Return of Them". They have always been here but the shadow creatures are completely different and are speculated to be some form of bug people who found refuge in using shadow fuel.
On the other hand with the Wolfgang lore I don't think it changes anything on the earlier parts of the story, more as reinforces what was already there. William Carter had to escape from his old life and so he went with the traveling circus to escape to San Francisco. That accident that happens just wants to highlight the fact he had the book during that time.

also, i think that the fuelweaver was searching for a way to beat "Them" why?
Well first of all, in the ancient archives, that are clearly related to the moon the centipede attack you if you use shadow weaponry, and fuelweaver's presumed society was pretty much based around nightmare fuel, so that's the motive, also, you know how sanity works the other way around on the lunar island? And what does fuelweaver's helmet do? Exactly, so my theory is that the ancient civilization that lived in the constant before Maxwell got there was in some way defeated by "Them" (another thing, the glass cutter is the only weapon in the game that uses half durability when fighting nightmare creatures)

Not too sure about this... I'm pretty sure the fuelweaver says this because the final blow is actually dealt by Charlie. She "isn't Them", just using their power. Potential reason for why he brought wendy into the constant is because he thought that she might have a chance of freeing him because of being related, she also propably heard the song because it's playing in Maxwell's room and he was trying to contact her, And got Wolfgang in there because he already helped him once before

Woodie : desperate to rid his curse

Maxwell : desperate to be a wide sensation of a magician
Winona : probably has no motive. but I can say that she wants to get her sister out of the constant
Wickerbottom : desperate to discover knowledge and publish books to succeed
Warly : desperate to get recipes that would satisfy his mother
Wagstaff : although unknown I do believe that he's desperate to harness powers that are beyond human comprehension
Wormwood : although a resident of the moon we can assume that he's desperate to be loved by others
Wortox : desperate to do the good (although he defied his superior)
Wes : no motive. literally got sucked in due to bad luck
Wanda : no motive. she entered by ripping time and space
Wurt : I don't know she's a constant resident considered that is. maybe cursed by the gnaw and was desperate to go back?

I think it would be really cool to see them meet and bond just by coincidence as scouts. Perhaps they get lost in the woods together. Also he is canadian since he is able to find woodies house on foot. As a black canadian he either had a free family and did scouts for fun or escaped from his "owners" to another state in canada and was taken in by the scouts. If he was indeed apart from his family thats something he could bond over with willow. If klei wants some easy story for walter and/or willow, they could easily write their adventures together :)

I think Wendy's short is heavily implying that Abigail fell off the cliff near their family home, most likely exactly how we see in the short with her playing on some rocks and tripping backwards, all while trying to coax her sister to join her. And the flowers had some sort of significance to them before this. But Wendy was so traumatized by this event that she keeps reliving it in her head and imagines a way in which her sister _didn't_ actually die. But she's always forced to acknowledge reality when her father calls her and only her home for the day.
