      Meaning of acoustic is not having electrical amplification. Mic it with an 57 if you need to. Killing the sound of that beautiful instrument. Save your money. Redundant in my book. No wonder Pete's not doing it. He knows better. 2 times Hard Danish Pete fanboy here. Peace.

    I have the THR30II Wireless and I use it all the time with acoustic guitars. Since I'm a beginner to intermediate for me the main reason is to hook it up with a looper. I absolutely love my THR. Best sounding small amp. I have a Fender Mustang LT-25, Kustom Sienna and a JBL Eon one. Unless more power needed I only use my yamaha. It's that good and versatile. I would love to have this one as well, but I'm not sure for just acoustic settings would worth it for me. Great review as always. I love your channel! Thank You!

    Pretty much a perfect little amp for small gigs. Also, Yamaha make the ‘Silent’ range of acoustic instruments. This fits perfectly with their silent guitars. They pack down to a very lightweight and portable size for travelling. Add this little battery powered amp to the mix, and you’ve got a super lightweight, portable and cordless rig.

    @asterisk606 Před 3 lety +2

    I agree with The Captain where I'm sort of scratching my head at the overall usefulness of something like that and acoustic amps in general for the every day non-gigging player. Acoustic guitars can get really loud on their own and the only time you'd want to get even louder is in a public venue where there's no choice so the at home use might be limited outside of having fun experimenting or jamming to backing tracks. The only issue is that, since the guitars are so loud on their own, how much do you really hear of the amp over the guitar without cranking it up? One benefit acoustic amps do have though is it lets someone be a lot more relaxed, allowing the person to use different techniques and dynamics to their advantage as opposed to needing to beat on the strings constantly in order to get the extra volume and be heard. That's a pretty big deal so I guess that's one of the voids an amp fills.

    • @XENONEZZ2
      @XENONEZZ2 Před 2 lety +1

      Well yes you've just sort of answered your own question there...I'm a nylon guitar player and at home using an amp such as this allows for far more tonal possibilities... It's almost like having two separate guitars in the room and makes for potentially a far more interesting sound. As for volume I simply play much softer so loudness isn't an issue.

    Question. What does it sound like if you have an Acoustic instrument (Guitar or Uke) with a good pickup system if you use the the Yamaha THR3011 (not acoustic model) wireless Amp ? If you use the various settings (Crunch, Lead, Hi Gain, Modern, Boutique, Classic). Will the acoustic instrument through the amp then sound like an electric guitar (not acoustic electric) ? Seems like there is more choices for sounds on the non acoustic version. Trying to understand if you should only use the acoustic amp version if you have acoustic guitar or uke or if you can use the non acoustic amp and have more sounds, including an acoustic sound. Thanks.

  • @eekamoose
    @eekamoose Před 3 lety +1

    Guys, I am an Andertons fan and potential customer but there is a big problem with this review. Because you bypassed the Yamaha's speaker and only let us hear the Bluetooth backing track via the DI outputs, you prevented us from getting the answer to the 50 million dollar question: How Much Bass Does It Put Out? This strange move on your part was frustrating because it's by far the most important parameter on which I judge small amp combos: is the sound full or does it sound like the speaker on a cheap phone? I can only assume that you switched over from the mikes in front of the amp's speaker to the amp's DI outputs when you started playing your backing track because the sound of the track through the amp's small speaker is crap.
    Ben's vocals on the outro sounded exceptionally good, but again because you used the DI outputs and not the Yamaha's own speaker we have absolutely no idea how those vocals would sound in the situations where that amp would most frequently be used, i.e. at home, at a small gig with no house PA, or out in the street busking. Your review only gave me half the info I wanted on the product.
    Frankly, through both the Yamaha's own speaker and through the DI outputs the Cole Clark guitar sounded awful with a nasty quacky peak in the mid-range. That would need to be fixed using some form of external EQ with sweepable mids if I was going to use that guitar/amp combination at a gig.

    Awesome amp, except I cannot seem to use a wah wah pedal with it while having a wireless guitar connection. I've tried expression pedal Hotone Soul Tone 2, with AIRSTEP. Can't assign a wah sound as the AMP doesn't have a wah effect. Only Chorus, flanger,temelo and phaser.....so any ideas a wah is a must!!

      I simply don't think it's the market they're after with this product. People buy the THR line because they don't want anything bigger that takes up more space. You can plop these on a shelf, on your desk, on a table, etc. and have it function perfectly and not stick out. You can't do that with anything bigger and adding larger speakers would go against the philosophy of an amp like that.

    Not really sure why you would need a desktop amp. Wouldn't you just use a mic for recording? An amp for projecting the sound in a venue, or outside maybe, which this would be unsuitable for. Doesn't the guitar project enough sound on it's own? I only see a use for these in a so called Silent guitar.

      I find it useful at home when I don’t want to shake the house at night. Also, feedback is almost non-existent…so I can play right in front of it with no issues.

      Its actually quite useful. 35 controls if you want them. If not? skip it, but they offer a level of control simply impossible otherwise.

    Just to add some balance. The sound is not bad, but not great for nylon no matter which modelling option u use. To me the chorus reverb and delays sound harsh and the Wider functions make it sound worse. To be fair it may be better for metal strings. I am posting this as I have not heard any negatives and I purchased this on the strength of the reviews. It's gonna cost me over £30 to send it back so for me a waste of time and money. As Lee implies the bells and whistles all make it sound worse. Sorry.

    I don't see the point of demonstrating the sound coming from the amplifier, when it is not a true reflection of the sound if your using mikes. Pointless, nobody is going to run it through mikes. Let us have a genuine sound from the amplifier

    What England has British Summer time? Explain please toys yanks

    • @EnglishVeteran
      @EnglishVeteran Před 3 lety +1

      It’s simple. England was once an independent Nation, one of the oldest Nation States on this Planet. The British State subverted us during the 1700’s and we remain under occupation. All time and Navigation references are based from Greenwich South England - Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and the Greenwich Meridian (0 Degrees Longitude). However since our occupation by the British State they call GMT + 1 hour British Summer Time!! As an American it is so important to understand that it was The British not the English that attempted to stop you from adopting the same inalienable Rights as The English by adopting The English Constitution. They failed of course and The English Constitution is the Beating Heart of The American Constitution.
