I am an Eagle Scout, and tell you what, not only knowing first aid but also being able to be a first responder has helped so many people. I’ve had to respond to several real-world emergencies (I was 16 when I helped a woman slipped on leaves and hit the back of her head on the corner of the pavement), so knowing more of these things about herbal medicine is just incredible to expand my understanding of how to help others.

That one line just stopped me in my tracks. Here is someone in the field with all remedies available, and he goes to herbal remedies first most often because they can do things that other medicines can't do. That totally rings true. It's rare that we need anything more than an herbal remedy anymore. The other arenas are vital at times, but not regularly.

Thank you for this. I will be checking out Dr. Jones' website. I'm from Trinidad. There were so many things that were given to me for cuts, pain, fevers that my grandmother would brew, steep, mash, make a syrup, a rub etc. Yes, we had access to doctors/hospital but there wasn't a bush that the older folks didn't know about. They knew what worked for what and more than often they were right. This was true for all of the Caribbean Islands. My husband is Jamaican and grew up in the countryside. His knowledge is even more extensive than mine.

It's fabulous that you guys covered the most life-threatening issues! After endless first aid and CPR courses that basically say call 911 or go to the doctor, here are 3-4 simple remedies to bridge an emergency with far more effectiveness than any of that prior training. Cayenne tincture is on my agenda today and should be ready in time for winter! I have yarrow tincture on hand, also reishi mushroom and lemon balm. But I only have mullein tea herb for breathing issues - a tincture makes way more sense in emergency. Brilliantly helpful! Thank you!

Victoria Lewis: Her breathing problems, you get a media release from nebulizing saline; Even if you get caught someplace strange without your kit, a person can usually scrounge pop a couple filters, boiled water and quarter of a teaspoon of salt. Even if there’s no nebulizer around, an inexpensive ultrasonic essential oil diffuser will do the job. It also serves to loosen things up so that you can cost them out.

I cleaned my wound and asked him for the styptic powder. He would not know to use yarrow. I finnally got the wound to stop bleedimg and covered with cotton and he brought me band aids. This is a really important video.
Some anecdotes that may provide some interesting perspective.
I grew up so very far out in the sticks that we had to have our own fire department on our ranch because it would have taken over 2 hours for the "local" fire department to get there. We did not have ambulance services. We had to find someone to drive the person at least to the highway which was 45 minutes.
In 1984, my Dad chopped off his thumb just below the top knuckle butchering turkeys. This is probably my earliest memory... Driving down our road to the hospital (just about an hour and 45 minutes) with the thumb in a bucket of ice while my dad held his arm in the air with a makeshift tourniquet on it and a towel wrapped around it.
They couldn't reattach the thumb. My dad has half a thumb on that hand now.
It's really really important to know what to do in an emergency!!

Sera Cyr: Have you tried nebulizing saline? I have an 81-year-old great aunt, who is a long ways from eight months old. She has asthma, and COPD. Last year, she ended up at the hospital in the emergency room. They left are waiting on the floor until 4 AM, then told her that the hospital was too full and they had no space, give her a prescription for prednisone and tell her to see her own doctor, then sent her home to die. Her doctor had sent her there permission because of the severity of the pneumonia.
I was at home with Covid. My parents had to take her home to watch her die. So I waited until they got home And had a chance to sell her way.
She hadn’t slept in days because she couldn’t breathe well enough. So I Ask her if she wouldn’t mind turning over on her belly. Because the way a person’s heart and lungs connect up, the biggest amount of area for Eric’s changing the lungs is on the back of your lungs, so if you turn the person over on the belly, any fluid and congestion in the lungs collects on the front, freeing up the breathing area. Right away, she started to do a little better. I called mom and asked her to run upstairs to my aunts room, and December firmly on the back, as if she were a toddler with a real bad painful gas bubble that she just couldn’t move on her own. I asked her to a song between the shoulder blades in the bottom of the rib cage, and she did. She started to some firmly and rhythmically, and my aunt started to sing to the rhythm. Just a few moments before she could barely gasp a few words.
I asked my aunt if she wouldn’t mind staying on her belly, since she said she was comfortable. Then I walked mom’s room making a little saline. And then help her set up a makeshift nebulizer from an ultrasonic Essential oils diffuser that she had up in the closet, and as soon as the boy water cooling off, mom poured the ceiling in the nebulizer, helped my aunt sit up to breathe mist for 15 or 20 minutes.
I left off, but the end of that so that she could go lie down and take a snooze. When I called back two hours later, to see how she was doing, mom said she didn’t know. She couldn’t catch up with her to find out. Lol.
Her aunt was feeling so good that she was off collecting some plywood and a few supplies to work on the project.
There was more, and I’ll add it here, for anybody who needs it.
My aunt actually had infected lungs. So, I asked mom to scrounge around for a few vitamins in the cupboard. Therapeutic dosages of vitamin D3 and C, at least 25 mg of zinc, and vitamin K one if she could find it. She found everything but the vitamin K1. Instead, she cooked meals with greens in them every day. Vitamin K one there’s a lot of things, but it speeds up healing. Antioxidants and Zinc Together women microbial action in the lungs that set her back, but they do more: they set a person up so that as they heal, their bodies do not respond to the cleanup from the infection by mounting a cytokine storm. Because very often that particular immune response is what kills a patient, when they survive whatever is causing the problem.
This next part is really important: if a person has those supplements in their body, then s/he can put hydrogen peroxide In the saline to the concentration of .1%, and it will kill microbes in the lungs. That doesn’t apply to regular asthma, because asthma is a condition and not an infection. But in the case of my aunt, it was necessary. Because help was definitely not on the way. Again, the supplement must be in a persons body before adding the peroxide, because without those supplements in the body, even if you get rid of the infectious organism, most likely the cytokine storm that happens when your body cleaned up afterwards, will kill you. If you think back to the early stages of the Covid pandemic, a lot of people will be cured, and then dying within the first two weeks after getting discharged. That’s why.
There’s other things that can go in with this, but that’s the stuff to get you breathing, and the stuff to take care of lung infections, when health is most definitely not on the way.
I hope you never need it.❤️
