Far Between - Marcus

Although Marcus grew up in the heart of "happy valley," Utah, he was plagued by intense loneliness and self-hatred. It wasn't until Marcus hit rock bottom that he was able to acknowledge a new way of being in the world--one that involved loving and being loved unconditionally.
Marcus grew up in Springville, Utah, one of the most conservative Mormon communities in the country. Like most young Mormon men, Marcus was acutely aware of the stigma homosexuality had within his spiritual community. Gay men were considered perverted and deviant. As a gay man himself, Marcus self-identified with these labels at a young age, propelling him into a downward spiral of pornography addiction, drug abuse, co-dependent relationships, and near homelessness. Miraculously, three gay men entered Marcus's life at a moment of utter vulnerability and taught him what it means to be truly seen and wholly loved.
