Ostriches are native to Africa not Australia. In Australia it would be emus.

Not ostriches,, they are emus, and the Australian army lost a great war to the emus. LOOK UP "THE GREAT EMU WAR" IN HISTORY.

They have huge Ostrich farms in Australia one incubates 2500 eggs per season 10,000 per year. Heck America has lots and here in Texas you can see elephants in the country side, a macaque reserve, big cats plus all kinds of exotic animals. My lil brother used to be married to a hippo.

@@JosephOliva-km1qf Yeah 2-3 guys with an old Lewis Gun. Apparently every time they set up to shoot at the Emus the birds would move further away plus scatter individually. Eventually the crew gave up and politicians figured the birds were to sneaky to deal with plus do not damage nature, farms or ranches like cats, rabbits and mice.

They did say emu, but kept going back to ostriches or ostrich like

They should call them what scientists call all the large ground dwelling birds like the ostriches, emus, and rheas. I am not sure of the spelling but I think it is " rattites "?

That got my attention due to the fact I've never heard of poison ivy there. Is there poison ivy anywhere else on the world besides the Americas? Just wondering. As far as I know I am not susceptible to its poison. Hope that continues. It sounds like nasty stuff.

@@susanfarley1332 had to look it up since you mentioned it, poison ivy isn’t native to Australia, but is grown in some places there by people in cooler climates.
Australia does have 2 trees that have similar symptoms though.
Also poison ivy is native to the Americas(central to north) and Asia.

Not a bad story, but, it leaves one with a desire for it to be the truth! Unavoidably, it's not the truth, nor will it ever be.

Anyone who enjoyed this story should check out Elizabeth Anne Scarborough's book "The Powers that Be" about a sentient alien world. Its the beginning book of a series that was very enjoyable. I highly recommend it. In it even the planet fights the invading corporation soldiers with earthquakes, volcanos, and the animals.

1:04:42 Its been a while since i have read the old testament but didnt God give "dominion" over earth and its animals to man? Since most of us have never read the old testament in the original language perhaps the word "dominion" was mistranslated? Perhaps the word was "protector"? or a similar word?
The reason it came to mind to doubt its translation of that word is another word in the Bible that was purposely mistranslated in the king James version. While it was being translated to English when they came to that famous quote from the Old testament "Thou shalt not allow a witch to live". (I probably misquoted it) . The original quote was "thou shalt not allow a poisoner to live", which sounds like the real quote since centuries ago people who lived in the middle east living with constant tribal warfare considered poisoning water wells in a place where water was precious to all living things as a most heinous crime. Poisoning water used by one tribe could end up poisoning innocent people since back then there would be no way to tell it was poisoned until it was consumed and many tribes relied on those wells when traveling the deserts.
If I remember correctly the purposeful mistranslation was a political move.
If one word was purposely mistranslated and considering how many times the old and new testaments were translated to different languages it makes me wonder how many other times that has occurred, by mistake or otherwise. Unless you know the older languages how would you know it was correct. Mankind is not infallible.

You are going to discuss semantics over some old book that has suspect provenance, against an AI based Sci Fi narration, that also has suspect provenance, especially when there are multiple intelligent species references in the dialogue?
Any fundamentalist christian would fulminate over the idea that there are sentient beings in the universe other than humans with their unique relationship to their 'loving' god.

@@jo2lovid just thinking about translations and the biggest game of rumor (or telephone as I have heard it called) on earth. Frankly I don't believe in the Bible, old testament or New testament. A supreme being is nice. But people writing something saying it's straight from God. Nope. God isn't going to the trouble of making something and then destroying it. Does not make sense. Giving it to humans and saying do what you will I give you dominion over it? Nope. Giving it to humans saying I made this and I want you to take care of it. Maybe. That would make sense. And those people who are looking forward to the end of the world so they can all go to heaven and party for eternity...well, that your everyday death cult. And I don't believe in that either.
I like to listen to these stories for fun and entertainment, but I have read much better ones. A lot of platitudes in some of these stories that gets repetitive. But I appreciate the entertainment. So why are you criticizing me? That is what it feels like.
