Samantha was OK with it, until someone she actually really cared for cheated on her. Kind of demonstrates she was OK(or claimed to "understand") with it based on the level of love she had for the other person.
They were supposed to be ina an exclusive relationship in that episode, not just dating tho not lke Charlotte story in this episode
it’s more like Samantha’s been hurt in the past and has had to put up that strong front
tbf I remember when a guy i was just dating cheated on me, I was delighted to hear it because he was beginning to get controlling. But when my serious relationship cheated I was devastated. It really shows if you love someone or not if they can hurt you..

Actually Charlotte did cheat on Trey when she kissed the gardener of his family estate . This was while they were married.
She went on 3 dates in one night, if it was anyone else, they would have cheated.

Cheating is always so terrifying to hear about. It’s like the basic expectation of a relationship is that it is just two people unless it’s open or poly. I just wish it would end, even in shows like this.

Interesting that Samantha takes this particular view on cheating here put completely changes her tune when Richard cheats on her…
People change overtime and this was earlier in the season. I also think the difference was the commitment level. Richard and Samantha were supposed to be more committed than Charlotte and this guy who only lasted an episode.
That's because she fell for the love trap. He lied to her in order to dominate her. Had she followed her initial beliefs she wouldn't have been affected emotionally by his cheating. She would've dipped out and happily went onto another man.
I agree, I'm just pointing out the difference between Charlotte's guy who was only a second date. Whereas Richard dated Sam and then expressed for them to be committed. She was forgiving because she forgave him the first time. @@heartjewelry-hh1nz

Because she never really experienced "true love" or at least it was never in her plans, even at first with Richard she tried to stick to her old ways but realized she was in too deep. Also, as she dates casually she never had the expectation of attaching to someone

Man, I was so enamored with this show back in the day and realize that this kind of thinking helped ruin so many women's lives. The idea that you can hop from (and I'll say this politely) "relationship" to "relationship" without feeling like garbage about yourself as a woman is the biggest b.s. lie ever. This show promoted the most toxic relationship ideas ever - and the fact that they had Big actually marry her which NEVER happens IRL - that kind of guy is an abusive mafioso type if he does end up marrying anyone - this and romcoms are so horrible for women's mental and emotional health.
But when Richard cheated she was devastated.
