We really loved the lush green scenery on this hike too, it felt like lost world in places, we kept half expecting a dinosaur to walk on by 🤣 🦕.

Not only me who watched and left a comment Debs too but unfortunately her comment has disappeared, which disappointed her, as she said it as a long one. After a tough previous day this looked a great call, such a scenic walk, so green and the wow factor was immense. On a hot day a nice place to cool off with a shower and cannot believe the amount of trees there were all over. That tunnel looked a bit spooky mind and defo need to watch your head, what a feat of engineering. A real nice walk with amazing views, cheers Alan

Argh we have suffered from the disappearing comment ourselves on many occasions, it is so frustrating 😤, and you never can predict when they will strike😫. Nevertheless we really appreciate you, and of course the lovely Debs, taking the time to watch and comment😊👊. This really was a stunning walk, looking across at the jungle of trees definitely gave us jurassic Park vibes🤩. The tunnel felt like a little adventure too! There are really quite a lot of them in Madeira on the Levada walks, we guess as a way to get right on through the mountain, it was incredible to walk through this one🤩👏.
A really nice stretch of the legs, some memories made that will stay with us.
We watched your latest lakes jaunt on the telly last night, great stuff, will pop over and leave a comment soon, fingers crossed it doesn't disappear 🙈🤞🤞.

Tried couple times to comment ,the views from this hike was simply stunning ,they were amazing.it’s like you both have gone back in time to prehistoric times my fav with 0 people. Love the bench with a view and the iron brew jelly baby’s .the cave was sublime ,love the tame birds @lizards . This is on my must go to place’s simple-it’s stunning area .love the stream ,creepy tunnels .thank you for being my friends debs xxx❤

I'm back guys and just watched this with dinner ! This was an amazing place, loved the footage ( from the train?) at the start and this Levada walk was fantastic, just our sort of walk that included tunnels which I love . The Levada reminded me of a mini canal feeling and I was shocked that fish were in there :) Beautiful views and the sound of the river and it must be hard living in the settlements on the side of the mountain ! The Irn bru millions souund great and it was so cute that the luzard looked the pizza and the bird loved the bread 😃 So enjoyed this one. I can't leave another 👍 but I'll leave a 🙌🙂❤️ :) ~ Anna

The footage at the start was actually from our taxi / mini van, some of the drives to the Start of the walks were an adventure in themselves, stunning scenery everywhere 😍.
The Levada were exactly like mini canals, we couldn't figure out how they had fish in them 🤔🐟. The paths alongside them certainly make an amazing walk, cut right through the mountain side ⛰️ 😊. There is something about walking through a tunnel isn't there! Feels like an adventure🤗👍. We really loved this walk, thanks again for taking the time to come along with us.

Hey both, just got in after a long 2 days and settling down to watch this on TV with beer and wine. What lovely opening shots!!! Those water channels are really cool and the scenery is so pretty. This is the sort of walk we’d like to do….you haven’t done too much ‘up’ yet 😂. Those views are just stunning, we are starting to think Madeira is creeping onto our list after seeing your vids. Loving the almost silence, bit of nature sounds…perfect. Hang on, this is your idea of a rest? It’s a hike to us!!! We like that you take the time to set up a shot then walk through it, we’re far too lazy and impatient to do that haha. Just saying, the path is wide enough but that’s a bit of a drop down there!! Plenty of trees to grab onto though when we clumsily trip and end up tumbling!!! Er, Pete, is that juice in your bottle?? You’re on holiday, it should be lager!! 🍻. Iron Bru jelly babies….hmm, sounds wrong to me!! Ooh a tunnel, we like a tunnel. We’re a bit scardie cat with caves and tunnels, I’m (Wills) a bit claustrophobic but this looks really cool so I reckon we’d do that one. It really is a stunning place. Ok, so we’ve learnt what a levada is now, very cool…go on, risk it for a biscuit!! We would turn up without torches and try and use our phones and run out of battery half way through the tunnel. Loving the little bird eating out of your hand….and off your boot. Wow, the bird and gecko…absolutely love that shot. Turn around time…wow the fish in the levada is cool. Ok, you’ve sold this walk to us, loving it! The trout are mad. The closest we have got to walking along side a levada is strolling along the edge of the Llangollen canal…Madeira is slightly prettier! “Our legs needed a bit of a rest”….so you walked for ‘just’ 10 miles??…yeah yeah, whatever 😂😂😂. Shame the wine stop didn’t happen but absolutely loved this video both. Top walk, top work 🍻

Thanks so much for this fantastic comment guys, we are so glad you enjoyed this one🤩👊. Madeira never stops surprising us with its varied scenery and fantastic hiking, this was our 3rd visit and there is still so much more to explore. Each walk seems to offer something new, this one had tunnels and tame wildlife, not to mention views that were straight out of jurassic Park, pretty epic for a day hike🤗. Hahaha OK, this didn't quite turn into a rest day at 10 miles🤣🙈. But the great thing about the Levada walks is that the paths are all flat, so easy walking, and most of them have been cut into these huge mountain sides or through stunning ravines, so bang for buck they are super rewarding and there is so much to see you don't even notice the miles ticking by🤩👍. You guys would adore Madeira, we so hope you visit and film some postcard videos there one day🤗👏👍 Oh don't you worry, many holiday beers were consumed back at the hotel🤣🤗🍻. Just wanted to make sure we didn't have a wobble down those rather steep drops after a mid walk beer😱.
Ooh i don't know, we are rather partial to a walk down llangollen canal😊🤣.

Hope you are well guys, funnily enough we still have at least one of your latest videos on our telly watch list too(we seem to always be behind on catching up with our you tube friends🙈). Madeira really is full of surprises, a flat path cut into a 2300ft mountain, right through a ravine that is straight out of the lost world 🥰🙌. It really is a special and unique island. You are right though, the path was very exposed in places, certainly not one for vertigo sufferers😳. The tunnel made turned this hike into an adventure. And the tame birds and lizards 🦎🐦❤️. I (Shell) thought i was snow white at one point, you are very lucky i didn't burst into song🤣👌.

The scale of the landscape on this walk did make us feel very small and humbled, nothing but hundreds of trees as far as the eye could see trees🌳🌲🌴🌳🥰. It felt like stepping back in time. The views on this hike certainly were stunning, in places it felt like walking in jurassic Park, surrounded by thousands of huge trees and rainforest flora and fauna, it really was epic, and for not much effort as the Levada walking is fairly flat🥰🙌. I've looked into this, and the gorge is actually over 700m down from the likes of Fonte do Bispo at the top, so a little under 2300ft down to the Levada trail. The Levadas are an amazing feat of engineering, and the tunnels made for an extra sense of adventure🤩👍.
