    There is no way Harbaugh did not know this was going on. As head coach of the Michigan football program the buck stops with him. The head coach of any program knows what every assistant coach under him is doing, as well as the staff members and what there function with the program does. Sure this goes on in every program, but in the case of Michigan. They got caught and must suffer the consequences. Just as any other program would.

      There's been rumblings on their message boards for awhile that something was coming down on Michigan soon. No doubt Ryan Day, who has a history of whining about stolen signals (Clemson) is behind this so he has another built in excuse when his team gets run over by Michigan for the third straight year.

    Most people do not understand the purpose of the rule against "off campus" scouting. The rule was enacted to keep a level playing field for all teams in a league whether it is the Big Ten, SEC or Pac 12. in the Big Ten only the big programs (OSU, Mich and possibly Penn st.) would be tempted to do "off campus" scouting. The Northwesterns, Purdues and Indianas of the Big Ten do not do "off campus" scouting. "Scouting" here is not just watching the game, rather it the hard work of "sign stealing": attending 6 or so OSU games, videotaping OSU's 3 different sign signalers, and use of UM computers to synthesize all the info. Is this what college football has become? The NCAA did not know about today's technology but they were wise when in the 1990s they adopted the rule against "off campus" scouting.

  • @WhoTFisPaulFinebaum
    @WhoTFisPaulFinebaum Před 7 měsíci

    This entire thing is a joke. College football by nature is a fast-paced, dynamic game where opposing teams engage in a chess match to create plays, communicate them to the team, and then execute them with both finesse and power. Do I have to explain fast-paced? When a team signals in a play, that signal is a puzzle with a life span of a few seconds. From the time the signal begins until the ball is snapped, the opposing team has a 10-40-second window to figure out the puzzle, decide what to do about it, and then signal in a defensive alignment to counter the offensive play, then position or reposition the defense to meet the threat. Do you mean to convince anyone that a 21st Century college program can't create a sufficiently complex system to signal players and confuse the rival football coachs for 30 seconds? Are you kidding me? College Football is a billion-dollar industry, sitting on campuses filled with the best minds, facilities, and, technologies in the world. If these institutions can't devise a secure method for a coach to signal a play to his quarterback and not have to worry about it being decoded and countered in 30 seconds, then that coach should be fired immediately with cause for being a complete moron, and the school closed and boarded up. This is a waste of time, money, and effort for everyone with 2 brain cells left in their heads.

Then, out of nowhere, he starts winning against KNOWN roadblock teams on his schedule, like Ohio State. However, somehow they keep getting hosed by teams in the playoffs, that they didn't know they would play? Jimmy soundly beat Ohio State last year, but loses to TCU...the worst team to ever make the CFP? TCU who got utterly destroyed by Georgia? Georgia, who escaped with a 1 point win in a game they trailed by 2 scores most of the game against...Ohio State???? Jimmy, who has been trying to get out of UM like he just robbed a bank? Why has he been trying so hard to find an NFL job when he has seemingly just started to win? Yeah, nothing to see here.

      My thoughts exactly, getting skull dragged by Ohio State on a yearly basis. Team was a dumpster fire in 2020 and covid cancelled the Game. Then with virtually the same players beats the Buckeyes soundly in the Big House and then goes to the Shoe and beat the Buckeyes like they had been getting beat by them. Took down by TCU and then supposedly weak OSU loses to Georgia by a missed FG and then Georgia destroys TCU like they stole something. Bill Belichek won multiple super bowls when he discovered recording future opponents practices and stealing their signs and knew what teams were going to do before they did it. Anyone who has played football knows that is an advantage that obviously is against the rules. Already suspended for three games this current season and now this? He may just "retire" like Urban Meyer.
