As a newer fashion/personal style creator here on YT, I've been battling this, too. The comparison trap is real and can be very discouraging. Though some of my favorite fashion creators are New York maximalists, I dress on the minimalist side. They're inspiring and exciting and always fun to watch, but at the end of the day, I've chosen to embrace the fact that I'm at my most comfortable and confident when I wear "simpler" outfits. I believe there is just as much power and style in quiet, simple, and understated outfits as there is in bold and extravagant ones. Thanks for the inspiration! And you're adorable! ❤

So funny cause I lived in NY for 10 yrs and every NYer I met has never been to a lot of the "iconic" New York landmarks, so actually that's pretty par for the course with them lmao. I had a friend raised in Brooklyn since she was 4 and she only went to the 9/11 memorial when she was like 27.

I have never ( ok not often) worn the "hot it items". I just try to tweak what I have with a nod to the current trend. I have seen so many things come in and everyone has to have it and then next year it is dated and hated. I lean towards timeless things that look good on me and have a few things in my closet that I got years ago and the still look fine today like the classic button down shirt, straight high wasted jeans. Love your 2nd outfit with the polka dots, look so cute on you!

I use the Sony zv-1 but honestly don’t recommend, it overheats soooo easily and you need 3 batteries to get through filming 😭 I had the Sony a5000 before and liked that one better
