Well.
It's the end of New Who. Next comes New New Who.
I had a lot of feelings about this episode, but I really wanted to do a video that really encompassed the Doctor's wish for a home and a family. I wanted to give 14th (and prior) the proper sendoff, and pave the way for 15th in my future videos.
This is my goodbye to what the series has given us so far. I can't wait to see what is in store for the future.

The way Ten's short life ended up felt so wrong, he gave the universe nothing but love and it constantly burned him. He got his reward, the long way 'round.

I’m happy we didn’t have to re-live the trauma of watching Tennant regenerate again
Although, we still have to scratch our heads on this bi-generation thing for a while. Still, i'm happy that 14th (Returner) Doctor got his happy ending.
@@AccipiterSmith bi generation was just a legend, in the toymaker's realm it could become real.
Now every part of the Doctor that suffered and had to keep running can finally rest.
And the 15th can continue being the doctor without his past holding him back
@@tm30shadowball37 and that's the bad thing. The Doctor in NuWho is The Doctor *because* of his trauma and problems. They do what The Doctor does *because* they don't want anyone else to live through that. The writers threw away everything that made The Doctor *The Doctor*
The tenth doctor regenerated scared and alone, now he finally gets what he always deserved. A life, A family, love. I love this show so much ❤
I love that 10 and 12 fought off regeneration for the exact opposite reasons. 10 didn't want to "die" and 12 very much did. 10 wanted to see the universe, continue on as this pointy haired, converse wearing adventurer, and 12 was just tired of saving everyone and everything and losing so many again and again and again and didn't want to continue on-until he realized he had to. Because if he didn't, no one else would.

"The one adventure I can never have." Only now he CAN. 😭 The way this latest special was so damn healing. That gentle embrace between new self and old self... I have been rewatching this ep all day, and I still can't believe that all these years later, The Doctor can finally take some time to let themself heal. The 15th Doctor looks so at peace with himself. 🥹 And this tribute is just stunning. ❤
Agreed! At first it was interesting, but now it is so comforting to know that he can finally breathe.

@@randomrazr Tentoo was a different person entirely, and a mostly human one at that. They seem to be implying that 15 is still a future version of 14 & has benefited greatly from the healing that 14 is finally allowing himself to do. I LOVE that we see the Doctor looking the healthiest they've ever looked, comforting a version of themself that always seemed the most unable to cope with everything they'd lost and letting them know it actually *is* going to be okay.
Watching this makes me feel everything was so long ago, even Jodie's era. Time flies with Doctor Who!

As one story ends another begins, the doctors happy ending, his reward finally after billions of years he can finally rest knowing he has left the universe in safe hands… his own hands and he can now begin to mend himself and fix what was broken
Um, this is the best edit of Who that I've seen, wow. I just don't know what to say. The fact that the doctor has had to go through battles, fight and lose people he loved either to time, enemies or life and then he had to just go away again and turn into someone different, how can you live with that? He's had to move all the time because it would completely break him and he's never had the chance to heal. This was it. Still iffy about the bigeneration but the fact that 10/14 can now do the one thing he never thought he'd do. Live. In peace. Wow. I'm gonna start rewatchin all the Who eps because this journey was phenomenal.
This is a perfect compilation of all the doctor has been through and why the ending of the giggle makes sense- to finally have this peace, something he thought he could never have as 10 in his old face, is achievable!
The way 15th hugs 14th so tight, because they both now that the only person who knows how broken they are is themselves, breaks my heart everytime 😢😢
I had mixed feeling about the ending of the giggle when I watched it live last night. But after rewatching it this morning honestly I’m just so happy that 14 got his happy ending. 💜

This last episode was one of the best moments in doctor who history, I wanted this ever since I was 15 when Tennant regenerated, proper over the moon❤❤ amazing edit btw
Bro wanted two different lives so badly that he split in half. At least we know where the curator comes from now.
The show suggests that he’ll just later complete the regeneration since Ncuti’s Doctor said that 14 fixed himself and that’s why he’s more secure.
@@arutlit62 yeah I think that's what happens, so when 14 becomes 15 after a good life as 14 he gets sent into the past and comes out of 14

Truly beautiful the ending 10/14 received. From the Doctor Who didn’t want to go, to the Doctor Who got to stay.
The way I see it this is the ending for the doctor until he runs off again.
Ncutti is also clearly the doctor though, they both are.
The 14th Doctor's reward, he gets to return to the day to day life on Earth that the 3rd Doctor had. Maybe the Timelords gave the 3rd Doctor his reward instead of it being a punishment.
He was young back then... so eager to see the universe.. now he is old and mature enough to enjoy some peace :)
I wonder if 14 will be part of the UNIT series or will he stay retired? I also wonder how the issue of Wilf will be handled if he is?
@@solracer66 I assume an episode of the potential UNIT spin-off will feature or mention Wilf's funeral and/or give us something/someone named after Bernard Cribbins.

oh goodness, including the “without hope, without witness, without reward” line broke me into tears
This was unbelievably beautiful! It’s got me crying all over again! The one thing that made me upset is that we got no Yaz mentions in the giggle. Messed up, especially when the flux and almost all the other companions were named
Martha wasn't name dropped either, despite having worked for Unit before. I think they wanted to focus mostly on the ones that had tragic/ bittersweet endings after Ten's run (the ones Donna didn't know about) and the ones whom he wanted to have a proper life with (Rose/River + Sarah Jane to acknowledge her passing). There's a lot of companions to cover in 60 years, and although I missed those who weren't mentioned, they were heading for the emotional gut punches. As of right now, we know both Yas and Martha are just fine

This special also made this show so much more diverse and I love it! We’ve got a disabled person, we’ve got trans representation, we’ve got a doctor of color and the TARDIS is wheelchair accessible! I bloody love this!

I appreciate the 13th Doctor clips!! I didn’t watch beyond a few episodes but it’s still awesome to see good clips from those seasons included in edits of the overarching story of The Doctor!

Hmm uncharted territory now, the Doctor can essentially split himself like an amoeba. I wonder if the origins of the Valeyard will somehow come into play...
I honestly think the bi regenaration was only made possible because of the toymaker's influence, so I think we'll rarely see something like that again moving forward
@@juliag6126 For sure, not saying the amoeba thing will happen again. But there are technically 3 doctors out there now. Tennant's human doctor in that parallel universe with Rose. Tennant's most recent Doctor, and Ncuti's new Doctor. Valeyard happens between his 12th and final incarnation (ambiguous) Also... given the new regeneration cycle granted to Matt Smith in Time of the Doctor, it's basically open season now. 🤷♂ And Toymaker mentioned... "There's only one player I didn't dare face, the one who waits." 😱 I know I know... wishful thinking. 🤤

The Doctor finally got his reward.
Sometimes you realise a tragic ending is a better ending then a "good" ending for the character.
Tenant can come back now for more stories, and eventually potentially die, and we find out that Tennants dr now can't regenerate.
When I tell you this show is consistent. ❤

I still wish they wrapped the series up with Capaldi, purely because his portrayal felt the most…complete? I guess? Like he felt like the perfect time to end it, wrap it up with ten seasons and so on, but now for the first time since he left I’ll be watching with nothing but excitement. This was beautiful, thank you so much

Wait so does this mean that 14 won’t regenerate now and only 15 will? Or would they both regenerate when it’s there time? This is kinda confusing
Fourteen will continue to be a Timelord and regenerate, the only difference is that he'll lead something closer to a 'normal' life, allowing Fifteen to look after the universe.
@@azapro911 when he goes he will likely be transported back to 14 and stabilise the loop. So 15 gets all the healing before going back and restarting.
Theory - 14 regenerates into old faces eventually becoming the Curator

Is 50 years of living with Donna really enough time to heal all the time and pain in his timelord life? I also can’t image ncuti returning to modern day earth to help with any crises now that there’s 2 doctors and David is living there with Donna.

I know that I'm gonna be really weird but.. Am I the only one in the entire planet who didn't like the way they regenerated to 15? I felt like it was only because they want to make sure to use David again for others specials of DW without taking an "old version" or a "regenerated" Doctor.
