    Trainees sacrifices their youth, education and family. Trains hard all day long, everyday for years in numerous fields like singing, dancing, language, variety skills, interview skills and plenty more. And they are doing all of that for free without even the guarantee of debuting and even if they do debut success is still not guaranteed. So be kinder to our idols and appreciate them more, don't make life even harder for them.

      It is not for free for the large majority of trainees, just a deferred payments(at an expensive interest rate) where companies require payment if you do not debut and cancel your contract, and if you do debut, they will withhold idol pay and take revenue until the payment has been covered. Companies are often not transparent about fees and what the debt pay off plan is upon debut. SM has plans to start monetizing their training too, and I'm sure if that's successful other companies with follow too.

      I get your point, but I think that Korean fans are a lot harsher on idols, just because of their way of thinking and how Korean culture is. As one of the journalists said in one of the previous episodes: "idols are a reflection of Korean society, they just want to see the best of the best". And as a result (from my point of view as a Westerner) they demand those levels of perfection, they are not humans for them, they are idols.

Over here, HighUp Entertainment is treating their trainees well, everyone looks healthy and energetic, and even the trainer is teaching her students in an appropriate manner. However, in the Asian Boss video, the trainees were being treated harshly, were being scolded and ridiculed by their trainer for making mistakes, and one of the trainees had a mental breakdown, 'cause despite working the hardest, she wasn't able to debut. I hope these agencies keep on treating their trainees in a proper way, 'cause they work really hard to achieve their dreams.

      Idol contracts and her contracts are completely different. In the 1990s, Korean singers were fooled by a typical Hollywood contract in which money was taken away from their aides. There is no problem like her because idol is a 7-year standard contract. The problem that idols don't get paid these days is due to the negative system of trainee expenses. This is also changing positively as we move on to investment issues that are not burdensome to individuals. The two are completely different cases. I want to correct it because you are interested in K-pop and believe that the tragedy of the past is reaching the present.

    What is really sad is that the one of the only times that an idol gets a break is when they do their mandatory military enlistment. I know when Onew, Key and Minho of SHINee were discharged, they looked so healthy and well rested. They were able to get away from being in the public eye 24/7 for 20 months and were able to find their true selves. Key in fact said how he was trying to get Taemin to enlist earlier because of how much rest he was getting being enlisted into the military band. I remember him saying on his welcome back Vlive that the most rest he had ever gotten was in the military. That yeah sure he missed being able to go eat whenever and whatever he wanted and being able to see his fans all the time but at the same time it was really refreshing having a steady schedule instead of having to work 20 hours a day on only 3 hours of sleep.

    • @stuyvesanth.189

    The Kpop creation machine should pay for several "retired" K-POP artists to go to college to become licensed mental health therapists so they can come back and help the newer generations. They would understand the 50,000 fans. Football teams in America often have performance therapists on staff and mandate every player use the services so that there is a support network for the mental health. K-Pop machines should create the same concept.

    • @stuyvesanth.189
      @stuyvesanth.189 Před 3 lety +12
