If Dynamite was not a song with a msg, then you've been sleeping in a cave. Also, BTS do not lip sync, as you could clearly tell. Don't tell me they can't sing, bec JK is known for his voice along with V, even JHope sings well, despite he's a rapper. So your logic does not make any sense. Tell me why Billie E wins easy Grammys then? Do you think she's actually known for her vocal talents? LOL I like Billie E for Bad Guy song since it's a catchy song, but I cannot get into rest of her songs at all. I'm not a good singer at all but I can sing her songs bec they're not much to sing, meaning you don't need serious vocal talent to sing such songs. So by your logic, if vocal performance and the song are the criteria, then surely you can explain why someone like her wins easy Grammy. the vocal ablities/techniques some others award the lyrics/sogrwiting skills/meaning, others recognize producers/mixers, others take into considaration both, others award impact etc. Best pop duo performance awards vocal performance and the song as a whole. Also this year the academy had almost 11,000 voting members (2,300) invited last year. Please do a simple google research. Rain on me or Exile deserved this award.

Everyone does that. But not everyone will take time to talk to their fans to share a vulnerable moment and to send words of comfort and love and reassurance. Post several pictures and make different ways to divert their attention. That’s one of the things that makes our boys so special.

I'm not a K Pop fan but I've read an article in a well known financial paper and the figures are insane. Basically they said they are as successful as the Beatles back in the day.
This is what exactly i wanted to hear from somebody. I love Dynamite, but I know BTS is way more than that, and if you don’t give them a Grammy for a Summer pop song (which i love, i repeat) they don't even deserve to step the same floor as our powerful Mr. Agust D.
Not only saving them for the end, they cut out part of the performance, it was so short! Think of the cost in production, practice and everything involved creating the sets. Unbelievable! Hopefully Bangtan TV will upload the entire performance.
The worst part of all of this was having to watch the boys reaction when they didn't win. RM said "I told you" and that's the moment my heart broke. They deserved so much more. Not to mention that Dynamite got more views than ALL FOUR of the other nominees in their category combined. Regardless of the lowly scammys they are more popular than LITERALLY everyone else there combined soooo BTS and army are the winners every day. :)

I see a lot other fandom saying *what is the big deal. Just move on and stop acting like teenagers* and things like that. There is so many layers to this that I would like to talk about.
First of all, BTS is not just a band for many of us Asian people. They are the group that brought so much pride and representation for us.
Secondly, English is a popular language only because they belonged to colonizers who looted, exploited and took advantage of many countries all around the world. All of us consume the popular culture of eng language centric counties and artist who are born or white people esp are privileged because for people from other countries that doesn't speak the language don't have the same exposure and privilege as you. So they have to work three time as much to even get recognition. So BTS being nominated was a huge deal.
Third and most importantly, They have the most diverse and multicultural fandom that is too huge to imagine and have huge social media power. Many a times BTS were shamelessly used for the fandom views and engagement. This was such a case. And it was very apparent that media all around the world called out the xenophobia.
So next time please don't hate on artist who work so hard to reach where they are by being borderline insensitive and racist. It's very hard for people outside of America and Europe to crack the music industry. Don't insult people who tries their best.
The only people I have seen say it is no big deal are white straight people who never experienced everyday racism. For them, a Grammy is literally no big deal because they and their white artist can easily get it. They do not even see the struggle a non English Speaking POC has to go through to get even a fraction of the recognition a white artist is handed for free.

저는 강남 인터컨티넨탈 호텔 파나스에서 야간 청소하는 사람인데 출근해 보니 bts가 그래미 시상식 때문에 대기하고 있다고 직원들이 알려줬어요(보안 때문에 직접 보지는 못했지만 )

La verdad es que BTS ya no necesita mas premios porque ya lo tienen reconocido en varias partes del planeta. Lo que me molesta en este momento es que los fanaticos esten tristes por el mal trato que BTS recibio.
I was also mad at the beginning but then I realized I want them to win with a song in Korean and be recognized by a song in their language because one of the main reasons they were nominated this year was cuz the song is in English. Not saying Dynamite isn´t lit. but I want them to demonstrate that music transcends all barriers (languages).
With all the Anti-Asian hate going on right now, that is the most far-fetched idea right now. Of course, white worshipper Hollywood ain't gonna let that happen.

i‘m sorry but y‘all seem to lack actual knowledge about the criteria of these awards. best pop duo has absolutely nothing to do with actual live performances, neither are youtube views, billboard entries or commercial success necessary to win a grammy. what counts at the end of the day is critical acclaim, which rain on me had, and the overall quality of the song. rain on me was written by women about their trauma and how they are trying to overcome that trauma and i think it‘s sad to see so many bts fans send death threats to gaga and make fun of her r*pe when she literally had no say in this matter, she doesn’t decide who wins, the grammy committee does. if y‘all are mad about the outcome then pls go ahead and attack the recording academy, not gaga or ariana. it‘s quite frustrating that people even need to explain this to a fanbase whose artists preach love and kindness. before y‘all start talking pls educate yourselves cause claiming that rom deserved the award any less than dynamite is just wrong. videos like these just spread misinformation and enable people to hate on the artists that took the award home
Dynamite was written because of the pandemic. It gave some people hope when they were tired and sometimes hopeless stuck alone in their homes, when the future looked bleak. Some of those needed something to look forward to, instead of being depressed due to all the C19 news you kept hearing. The surroundings just looked not normal with empty buildings and streets. But those people had something to look forward to when they got up in the morning. Listening to Dynamite, watching BTS singing and dancing, saying everything will be alright after the pandemic, so let's light up the sky and party on when this pandemic is over. THAT's the Huge message that energize and lift up people, who would have been depressed. I dare to state that the Song saved lives. I'm one of those people who felt helpless and hopeless since the pandemic happened. But when I listen to BTS and their Dynamite, somehow I can forget about the depressing pandemic, even for brief, and enjoy the life again. That life can be good. Music is about touching the heart of people and inspiring them. Dynamite has done exactly that and more. So when such song that gives hope does not win a Grammy, that's why Grammys is just #Scammys.
I also want to say that people who threaten Lady Gaga or Ariana are totally messed up, major demented. I'd be the first one to tell them to stop it and just STFU, bec that's just Not IT. Some people are sick in the head and that's why ARMY get bad reputation when others think that's typical ARMY, when they're NOT ARMY. BTS would have been so ashamed about them. Again, those sick people are NOT ARMY. That's just WRONG WRONG.
