Dear Bayyinah, I've been contemplating on this topic since Allah guide me back to Islam. There are just too many rules on Shari'ah that I had difficulties on prioritizing our Deen. That is a wrong translation, used commonly. There are no "pillars" of Islam; "buniyaul Islam" : "buniya" is foundation, "buniya" is not pillar. Those five aspects that are often mentioned are five foundational aspects of, symbolically, the house that symbolizes Islam. Please refer to the original hadith when Rasul (PBUH) was explaining the subject.

I've always had an issue of how to study Islam in practical daily life and where to start.
