"Why don't you go back and save me."
hits hard.
One of the most underrated films of all time.
I agree, I saw it in the theater when it first came out.
Ashton Kutcher best performance of ALL TIME
There is that word again, "underrated". Hello goodweiler.
Damn straight it's underrated! Shame the sequels were trash
@@kidgrebo1 Dang, I came out the womb in this year

“you’re always one decision away from a totally different life”
This movie is truly in my top 5 favorites, it opens your mind to what decisions we make can change our paths forever. When she was a broken waitress I got really sad and kind of depressed about that. Not many movies can impact a person so emotionally.
what are the other four ?
What are other 4 top of yours ?

@@nitishshukla3234 hahaha! Imagine commenting that at all. Boy your life must SUCK to randomly say those things on the internet 😂😂😂
i saw this movie back when it came out and still think about it to this day. 20 years later. incredible.
One of the best physchological thriller movies that I watched. 2000s movies are hits so differently!
Damn right!
If you haven't seen this movie, seriously, what the hell are you waiting for? WATCH IT NOW. What everyone says is true. It's such an underrated movie, and it really is a masterpiece. Might watch this flick tomorrow night
Okay fine I’ll watch it right now
This movie is amazing. I got so emotional at the end. What a rollercoaster of emotions this movie was. It started out as interesting and innocent and then got super deep and meaningful. It also teaches u that every small decision u make in life is so important but we cant control it. Oh and the oasis song at the end topped it off perfectly. 9/10 this movie.
The thing about time travel is. Your so focused on what you could do. You never stop to think if you should do.
That's it🤯👍

Not sure if anyone would read this and care, I saw this movie just now and I really felt its message, painfully. When one's absence is a convenience to other's existence, that's when you realize that they are better off without you. Recently our office conducted an event where I was the only one unable to participate. Nobody bothered to look for me, nor ask afterwards why I wasn't present, not even those who I once considered to be my closest friends there. All my life I've set my goal to work in that office since I was a college student (I have been working there for 5 years now), but after that incident maybe it's a realization that I don't really fit in that workplace.
Maybe that office isn't for you
@@unuefeejovwoke6609 Maybe, but it's just wistful to think that this has been my dream job since college (I work in the academe btw, I now work with my former professors and classmates)
@@PILOSOPAUL do you fit in this?
Most times our dream jobs turn out to be crappy especially if our values aren't recognized there
What is it about that office/role that so impressed you as a student? Could you continue to enjoy the role itself whilst accepting you may not be part of the 'family/group'? I imagine an office full of professors and former students would be quite a difficult place to be in that it would be highly competitive, political and egotistical.
@@unuefeejovwoke6609 I kinda think I used to fit in but when I was gone for a year due to study leave that's when I really felt that I wasn't really that vital as a someone apart from one who fulfils duties, not sure if it's coz I only signed up to work, not to make friends, but others have group of friends there, sadly I don't
A film that you won’t forget 😮😮😮!!!!
After watching this movie, I started to realize that "butterfly effect" is just everything in life.
i randomly found this movie started watching and balled at the when he strangled himself as a baby i was blown away great movie he saved all of them
This trailer has the best use of the opening to It's Been Awhile ever. It's stayed with me since it's release.
I think the main point of the movie is that everything happens for a reson and we have to accept it. We actually own nothing in this life except choices, neither of which that can fully satisfy our wishes, because our wishes are a blessing and a curse for us or someone else.
Deep
But still, the end was happier than the beggining. In the beggining, Lenny got severe traumas and the girl too, she commited suicide. In the end, Lenny had not that trauma and the girl lived better
I kind of remember this from my childhood, but never knew what it was about. Now that I see this trailer at 27 i want to rewatch it
exactly and I am 27 also

ive been lookin for this movie about 6-7 years. Today i found it and watched it again. That's a great movie!
Where did you find it?
You have to rent it for 3.99 on CZcams or prime video I believe
One of my all time favorite movies.

Probably my favourite film ever made
Gotta rewatch it this weekend. Not sure why it came back to mind but I think I need to

one of the best films of the century
I miss the 90s/2000s movie trailer narrators. Really pumped you up for a movie.
I first saw this movie in 2004, so watching it now brings back a lot of memories.
I was only seven, lol.
I was in high school
Kinda like when the kids sneak in to see SEVEN? Yeah, kids make a point of seeing movies that they're not supposed to. Some things never change...

This Was my favorite movie growing up and I remember nothing about it now🤯 so I'm trying to refresh my memory
I feel like Ashton Kutcher is underrated as a serious film actor. He usually is only ever known for playing eccentric, goofy idiots in TV shows for comic relief. He needs more serious roles like this
Incredibly great movie
Perhaps the lesson is if you truly love someone you have to let them go
Yes agree. We need to have no attachment in this existence
What’s really heartbreaking is that in order for kaylee and her brother to live a happier life he has to erase himself from their lives completely even if it’s sparing them from a bad future
I agree. I have a very close friend i could never imagine not meeting. She came into my life at the best/worst time 14 years ago. I say best because i could've really used someone like her. It was the worst time because i'd just lost my mom.
@@joshburns4611 yeah I completely get you I have someone like that in my life as well only my mental health wasn’t in the right place and she helped me through it with just her positive energy and I owe her a lot but yeah I completely understand.
Makes me think of my Past Bestfriend. Introduced him to a gal who turned out to be a weirdo and came between us. IF still married it would be for 25yrs now. If he's truly happy all these years, why would I ever want to change that.
I Cried a lot of tears, missed him a lot, just hope they are still happy.
I just don't understand how him erasing himself would have prevented Tommy and Kaylee's father from being a pedo. As Tommy said, his father was originally going to make him the "star" of the "movie" their father was making. He would have just been in Evan's position.
@@ryatt1 not necessarily considering once he changed the future im assuming the mom took full custody of Tommy and his sister preventing that future from happening with the father.
i remember watching this movie, after, i kept threwing up and i was soooo sick so the next day i stayed home
I love this movie so much. I’ve never watched the part 2 or 3 because I can’t see them being half as good as this one
Don't, they are rubbish and change how the buttefly effect worked

It’s also on Tubi I just watched it
they arnt i seen the only because i seen this one they were crap
This movie was peak Kutcher
OMG this movie why no one talking about this ???😮😮😮😮 just finished watching
The Butterfly Effect 2004 offers a captivating psychological twist for those inclined towards such narratives. It delves into the profound impact of decision-making on one's life, a theme expertly portrayed by Ashton Kutcher's character. Additionally, the performances by Ethan Suplee, Elden Henson, and Amy Smart are noteworthy and add depth to the film.
It’s a great film
I also find it disturbing
Fr taught me a lot things you change won’t never be the same
Another underrated film! Ashton was so good in this, the Director's Cut ending is the best. Shame the sequels were trash.
every ending makes sense, every cut makes sense
Is "underrated" the only word you have to describe a thing you like?
This movie is a masterpiece it was amazing
Its been a while Aaron Lewis
A great movie. Couldn't sit through it again though
Yeah..
underrated movie
"underrated" 😂😂😂😂.
How????
"You can't play God",
this movie shows that you don't need to regret for the stuff that happened, cause even if you had chance to change it you would have made it even worse, so let it play, played by the divine, the collective consciouseness... everything everywhere is happening as the singular mechanism of a large one. And the large one is also operating accordingly with even the larger one. There is a bigger picture to everything!
But still, the end was happier than the beggining. In the beggining, Lenny got severe traumas and the girl too, she commited suicide. In the end, Lenny had not that trauma and the girl lived better
Great movie, but wish they had the song that was in the trailer ("It's Been A While" by Staind) in the movie at one point ^_^
I'm pretty sure this movie inspired the making of Life is strange
I have not seen this movie in forever. Definitely a great film.
I was looking for time travel movies to watch & this is a true gem of its time. Very very good & kind of trippy
I remember watching this movie when i was kid,one of the movies that i remember the most, when i was about 22 or 23 years old,i couldn't even watch scenes from the movie or even things associated with the movie(the theme song, stop crying your heart out),i dont know why ,now.....at my age(27) i can....
Just bought it today on eBay for 3.15 can’t wait to watch it
One of the most shocking movies ever since the Final Destination franchise
I wish it was a successful as Final destination! I mean, like having good sequels instead of direct to video crap!
@@Natalie_Milana7 I’ve experienced the worst! Sequels (a bit of both theatrical and direct to home video) can be sucky. Now my childhood classics have been remade and these reboots that are horrible

Ashton kutcher = butterfly effect
Mila kunis = black swan effect

It all starts when a butterfly flaps its wing. It creates a tiny gust of wind and that’s gust as it flys through the air it gets bigger. And bigger. And bigger until it turns into a giant tornado costing thousands of lives and it all starts with a butterfly flap. The butterfly. What a sick fu-

Great movie!!! 👏❤
I just finished watching it. Now... Im feeling satisfied that i belong to those few % of humans who watched this film. It gives you a different perspective in many thing's
VERY GOOD movie ❤❤
Best movie ever
Here is the Whole Movie: If you keep trying to change the past, you will just keep running into the same old problems. All this will accomplish is to give you a headache that keeps you returning to the present, and forgetting you ever had a future.
Im about to be 30 and i need some journals about now
This movie is so sad
I can’t watch this movie. It’s too much. So sad.
He's psychology major in college and he finds a notebook with his childhood written down the teacher gives him an A and goes back to certain memories but it just ends with him not knowing the girl he grew up with and trying to fix things
Directors cut is the far better version, made more sense, the version you saw sounds like the Happy cop out version, not really the true ending.
That Staind song 😂
This goes to show altering the past or present, changes the future.
This movie was doing the multiverse before it was cool
There is a decision I made on October 9, 2023. How I wish I had not made it. How I wish I had this ability to change it...even though I knew the consequences would be dire and I knew I would have problems. How I wish I had the , Evan's ability
Some people think time is a line, it’s not.
Good movie
I definitely shouldn’t have watched this as a kid 😂. It has stuck with me for sure.
Scream Queen 👑 Okay This was cool, me and Kai had already been working on our remake of this movie that was actually an idea of ours 5 years ago. (Hey we had to start all our movie projects with American Horror Story guys.) Now before I even get started with my movie premotion.... Lemme just say That I had No idea 💡 The Staind song "It's been awhile" was in the trailer (it's in the movie now 2 guys) in fact I got So excited Kai got us the autographed guitar From the video
I wish Kutcher would do another film of this quality. Normally, the stuff he takes on is complete utter schlock. Roles that exploited his marquee value as a beefcake and a goofball--teen-oriented turkeys that are designed to pander to the lowest common denominator. It'd be nice if Ashton tried to do something of quality again. This film--the Director's Cut in general--is right up there with THE SIXTH SENSE and UNBREAKABLE. It would be nice if he tried to take on another... quality project. His '70's co-star Topher made a resolution to appear in (almost all) good movies. I wish Ashton would at least try.
Ah yes back when movies' stakes were relatively small scale that actually allow people to be emotionally invested in it during the movie.
This movie !!!! Means so much to me that no matter how much trauma you been thru and how hard it is one day ! One day you will grow up be an adult not give up which omg is sooooo fucken hard😢😢😢 but !!! You gotta fucken move forward “ cuz when ur adult your in control of your life “ the choices affect every aspect of ur fucken life!
After everything in life now I just want peace n happiness still healing but just want it together 😢😢😢💕💕 I’m trying
Tang the good school days
Eu vou mudar tudo.
It should've said "from Eric bress the writer of blunt and the producers of American pie."
Solid
Just as likely changing the past would result in a better future. These movies always suppose you'll cause an apocalypse if you had a time machine. I'd like to see a movie where someone goes into the past and smashes a butterfly resulting in a future utopia.
No matter no more
Imagine having Philosophical/Existential OCD and watching and contemplating this movie…like me.
Filme bom
Disturbing movie but it gets the point across. Even if you had the gift to go back and get do-overs, there’s so many other variables that can make your life far worse than it is currently. It’s best to just live life naturally and remember every moment you were somewhere and did something it’s led you to the person you are now.
I just saw ‘The Shift’ kinda reminded me of this movie but not as dark
