Erick Brown Jr all kickers can kick the same distance, its not so much of the length of the field goal that makes it hard, its the accuracy from such a long distance
honestly insane. I remember when this dude attempted a 71 yarder into 10mph wind. It was short, but he still kicked it 60+ fucking yards INTO strong ass wind. The vid is prolly on utube tbh
I kicked a 62 in high-school game. Kicked a 68 twice but could not get the 70. Oh...I should mention that their was a tornado up wind from me. I don't think that that 220 mph wind made much of a difference though. Sarcasm
Although the post is tongue-in-cheek, believe it or not, the high school record is 68 yards. (Of course, the posts are different in high school--they're almost 5 feet wider. If you CZcams 67-yard-high school field goal, you'll find a kid who nails it with probably a good five yards to spare.)
I had a very similiar situation in high school. I hit a 56 yard field goal to end the half. Everybody came up to me, slapped me or chest bumped me and said "KICKER!". I don't think any of them knew my real name.
one of the best kickers in the league, this year he wasn't up to par, I know he's an alcoholic but he can keep himself in check next year hopefully, let's shoot for it raider nation

Holy cow that's an amazing kick I'm from dallas and IMA thoroughbred Dallas Cowboys fan but I can definitely appreciate a kick like that and I don't think many people are appreciating it as much as it needs to be wow what a kick good job man
its amazing how every kicker takes ten steps back and kicks it 2 yards in the end zone he takes 2 steps back and kicks it in the stands for a touchback.
He made an 80 yard one in the pregame of a ravens game a few years back, I got to see it (being a raider fan in PA) and i loved it from the sideline. The man has a cannon for a leg!
+Sethsters 91 who cares? There've been situations where teams intentionally try and push the other team into the endzone like in the pats superbowl with the giants, if it's 60 plus yards and i'm on the other team and they want to lose yds to try for a 5 pt fg then i'd be like ok go ahead.
Condused It also rewards a team for not being able to move the ball. Why should the offense be rewarded when they couldnt get in the end zone or at least move the ball closer for an easier field goal? And just try to imagine this scenario: the offense has the ball on the 33 yard line and its 3rd and 10. Instead of trying to get the first down they intentionally lose 5 yards so that the 50 yard field goal becomes 55. Does that sound like football to you? Is that within the spirit of the game? I dont think so. Plus you would introduce a situation in the game where the distance of the kick actually matters. Was it really a 55 yarder, or was it closer to 54 3/4? It's just too wonky and in my opinion, not in the best interest of the game. Having a great kicker that can bail out the offense with a long kick is reward enough. Let's not go overboard.
During the instant replay of the practice field goal, you see Mat Prater. He was probably thinking, "I'm gonna do something like that someday. A few years later he has the record.
cant believe i had him on my fantasy league and when i needed him most he only got me 1 point.. lost because of that... hes still one of the best kickers
not many kickers can even make a 50 yard field goal. now from the other side of the field?my god. I remember when Denver had Matt Prater and he made a 64 yard field goal against Tennessee. making these kinds of kicks is absolutely phenomenal
He is the best kicker in the league. The reason he missed alot of kicks is cause must of his kicks are from 50 yards plus must other teams would punt from 55 plus but since the Raiders cant score td. They make him kick from anywhere
xideszczkaix If kicking long field goals is easy in Denver, then why isn't it done more frequently? Simple. Kicking 60+ yard field goals are hard, regardless if you're in Miami, or Denver, or anywhere else.
Everyone blames Blair Walsh, yet my holder in High School could spin a ball with the laces out better than the Vikes holder. That hold was absolute trash. Walsh still should have made it at least a little closer, but no way I'm blaming him primarily for that miss.
One of the best kickers ever! I still say Akers' kick was the most impressive outta the four record holders, being as though, he didn't wear a special shoe and didn't have the mile-high altitude to his advantage.
robert smith He is one of the greaest, and the guy who was holding the ball for him is one of the greatest Punters in NFL history. 2 Legends and Seabass had a rough 2013 because he has a new holder
u guys do relies the only reason he made those was because they were in Denver. The bronco stadium is at a high altitude so the air is thinner and the ball fly's further.
Freddy 24 Do I look like a 5 year old? That's why I pointed out that in Denver's 5000 ft altitude or elevation from the ground, makes the ball travel easier, that's how planes are able to maneuver. Idiot thinks I'm just a little kid knowing nothing whatsoever when I made a rhetorical statement (which you don't know what that means).
With prater's, it was 13 degrees that day, which almost negates the altitude effect. I say almost, because a 13 degree day in Denver, would be equivalent air density to an 80 degree day at sea level.

Jason Elam, Denver Bronco kicker also has hit a 63 yarder w/ normal feet. Janikowski is the only nfl kicker to have made two 60 + plus field goals.
Is Tucker on this list yet?
Brett Maher has made three. So has Janikowski; this was his third (see graphic at 0:34).

they should give more than 3 points for field goals longer than 60 yards or maybe even 55
No they shouldn't. You will sometimes get into situations where teams intentionally lose a few yards for the field goal.
+Sethsters 91
true, but field goals above 55+ are bit tough

Most physically gifted kicker in NFL history.
Notice that prater's 64 yarder, and janikowski's and jason elam's 63 yarder was all kicked in denver
Because in Denver the altitude is higher (you probably don't know what that means) making a ball easier to kick and throw far
Freddy 24 Do I look like a 5 year old? That's why I pointed out that in Denver's 5000 ft altitude or elevation from the ground, makes the ball travel easier, that's how planes are able to maneuver. With prater's, it was 13 degrees that day, which almost negates the altitude effect. I say almost, because a 13 degree day in Denver, would be equivalent air density to an 80 degree day at sea level.
Prater's FG will have an asterisk next to it ; ) Kicker on PEDs LOL! ... Just like Brady's SB wins ; )
0:46 lineman on the far left does nothing to stop the defense
Michael Gonzalez No need to, they all knew the kick was already off.
This guy should be a lineman! Biggest kicker ever!
Being in Mile High certainly helped, but Janikowski might be my favorite kicker ever. What a boss.
There's less oxygen for your muscles for energy, so the altitude offsets that.

UMMMM.....it's LITERALLY his job.
you guys got a nice rookie along with 2 other teams vikings and the rams so cheer up for the next gen of kickers
to be fair the alltitude is so high in denver any kicker can kick from 60 yards plus
It actually doesn't even matter 😂
I might be wrong but that's what I heard
the altitude has a pretty big role.
The air is really thin so the ball won't get stopped by the friction as much as it would in say Pittttsburg
+Cheeesy Is Easy or Baltimore

189 feet is 11 feet LESS than a little league field fence.
Rick Charles My point being it is not very far.
David James well lets see you kick a 60 yard field goal
Is 189 feet far for hitting a baseball? No. Is it far for kicking a field goal? Yes. It's called context....do you really not understand that?
A football is much bigger than a baseball and a leg can't strike as hard as a metal bat. Accuracy also comes into play when kicking a football.
That’s the stupidest comment ever
I can do that, hold my beer
OUTSTANDING!
The only kicker that really practiced.
The balls they use in pregame aren't always NFL Regulation
+Lee Marion Patriots Style :D
+SLR4NN You must not have many brain cells.
I think the reason they kick longer during practice is because they have absolutely no pressure on them
SLR4NN it's the other way around, the more air pressure in a ball, the further you will kick it
+Lee Marion he was talking about the pressure on the kicker
Then the Broncos kicker Matt Prater tops all 3 and gets 64 yards...
