I love making candles because it helps me soothe the feelings in my soul that often times I cannot express in words. I love to set off a mood that is unmatched. A candle isn’t just a candle for me, it’s an experience. And making them is almost like telling a story, from having lights dimmed to Jazz music playing in the background to dancing alone or with a loved one while in the process of making them there’s a story and happy moment that’s comes along with each candle I make. Even for test candles lol. It’s like I’m watching myself before the dream comes true of having my own candle business and it makes me smile by itself to know maybe one day I’ll sell some candles and other people will buy them and love them just as much as I do. That’s the reward in itself for me! Anything after that is a plus.Just another person picking up on good vibes. I am a new candle maker (1 month in) and the joy I get from learning interesting facts about how to make a candle down to the science(math) it involves, it actually makes me realize I have more strengths than weakness and I can do anything I dedicate myself too. I’ve mastered math because of just how dedicated I was to learning how to do this. That’s one subject I ran away from my whole life!! Candle making has taken me out of a huge depression I sunk in and lifted my spirits into a safe place. Where I can now let another creative side of me shine through. I used to be in stores for hours smelling and buying candles and filling up cabinets with them, and now I’m making them myself and for a future business. The joy is being able to make something ive always loved to own, to something I can make for myself. Ive learned so much from CZcamsrs like yourself and being encouraged by people who are just as passionate about this as me. That makes me extremely happy. I really love your content it’s very soothing.I subscribed yesterday and watched and liked everything because your content is really good! Very informative, detailed and refreshing. If you like to be able to write on your tester strips, Rustic Escentuals has wider testing strips. They are SO much easier to write on. I’ve tried several WW fragrances and for the money I’m spending, I EXPECT a strong throw. I use their vessels, but know I can spend the same amount of money with other suppliers of luxury FO’s and get more bang for my buck. Thank you for this video. I have combined coco ap and 486. Your videos have been so helpful while getting started in my adventures in candlemaking! After losing my job to covid at the beginning of 2020, I started making candles as a hobby, just to stay busy (I was driving my bf up the wall re-arranging and deep cleaning our house with all the free time I had!). I realized pretty quickly after how much joy and sense of purpose it brought me. It's really cool to try and match a scent to a mood, a moment of nostalgia, or a favorite song (try burning white sandalwood + smoke and listening to Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here"). Now I hope to start my own business as a way to help support my family while also being able to set a schedule that allows me to be more available to them day-to-day.

20% is the boosting wax is the perfect percentage if you’re mixing waxes. I evidently watched this another time! Your videos are so soothing. Testing never stops does it? However, I get really excited when I blend 2 FO’s and come up with a new FO! I’ve been blending waxes for awhile and it really does help with my CT and HT! Thank you for sharing this video, Sweetie!
I really liked this video because, I am just starting to make candles. I really like how she used the wooden wicks with the golden tins for the candles they look really cool. Another thing I liked about this video was that she mixed up the fragrances with other fragrance sents for the candles to try something new !

I love making candles because I wanted to channel my energy into something challenging but creative.
I’ve always loved burning candles and it wasn’t until the pandemic hit that I realized I loved making candles... here’s the back story. With so much forced time home I found myself “empty” and needing to fill that emptiness. Hmmm what do I love? Seafood but not really into cooking for others. Wine however not wanting to be a connoisseur. Candles hmmm possibly so did some research bought a kit made some candles and fell in love. I find it relaxing even the “stressful times” I’m enjoying this ride. Creating scents, designing labels sniffing my curing candles lol I just love it all. Regardless if I ever win anything or not I love expressing my joy with making candles. Thank you for this video, I love learning all things candles

Yes! I made a new batch with 11% FO. 8% was okay and 9% was better, but I want them stronger. When I burn test the 11% I’ll do a video ♥️

Does their fragrances still smell as strong because ever since they rebranded to Makesy, their fragrances don’t smell as strong in candles anymore
When you blended your sp487 with your CAC wax, did you have to increase the thickness of your wooden wicks from a .02 to a .03 or was the .02 enough? I know this video is a few years old now but have you tweaked it since or have it basically stayed the same since then? Thank you

I have tried egyptian linen + lavender buds with oud patchouli + resins together for my sister, she loved it. I have also tried palo santo + sage with sage + lavender! I have less than a pound of cac left. I may as well try this blend lol.

I just started making candles for myself and to give to family and a few friends just because. I like surprising them. I love making candles and trying different scent combos just to see how they turn out. So far only one didn't smell good, it smelled like burning dirt.

I love making candles because of the challenges and opportunity for a creative outlet it provides. I really enjoy testing out new waxes and fragrance oils. One reason I would love this kit as I’ve had the opportunity to try very few Wooden Wick products.

Okay, Jess, I love that we think alike in SO many ways! The same things you are addressing are things ONCE AGAIN (ugh!) I'm actively (re) addressing in my biz, and tweaking because wax supply is not what it was 8 months ago! (or 6 right? haha). I was feeling so alone in this and I can't thank you enough for your videos. Thanks for walking us through your process, because I personally love the science and troubleshooting of it all ( i love to look at things from every angle) and my business partners are always like--stop! Yaaas totally the same for me 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 it’s “good” but I want perfection 😂 I don’t think I’ll have perfect candles for launch, but I’ll continue working on them. I think we put too much pressure on ourselves for perfection (I sure as hell do). This shortage has seriously pushed me back months of work, it’s insane, I’ve had to switch waxes 3 times
I’d like to live in America just to make candles! We have so many regulations here, (UK) for selling. So we can’t mix fragrance oils, without sending them to be tested which costs lots. Same with essential oils. You can only sell them if you buy a companies already mixed, regulated, oil with their safety data sheets, CLP warnings for labels, and Max 10% fragrance load. Basically everything has to be tested if you want something unique. Same with soap, in-fact that’s harder. Anything you add to a soap base has to be sent for testing. It just adds loads of extra money. 🤷🏻♀️

I discovered that I really enjoyed making candles when I decided to stop smoking marijuana due to my anxiety and refusal to be on medication for it. Long and personal story but I suffer for PTSD which causes my anxiety and marijuana was working great for me wasn’t an avid or daily smoker but it also wasn’t really my thing (doctor’s recommendation) after I refused meds. But candle making has brought me so much peace and relaxation it’s great and the sound of the crackling wooden wick is so soothing and awesome to listen to during meditation and breathing exercises.

First off I cannot thank you enough for all of the beautiful content you so graciously share...you are truly an inspiration :) Since I can remember I've been obsessed with anything pertaining to scents particularly candles (just the thought oooh la la). While the business aspect of it has crossed my mind for years now I finally mustered up the courage to take a leap of faith and just DO IT like NIKE! To be quite honest due to the candle supply shortage and this being a new business venture I have not been able to purchase any wax or necessary supples just to make one little candle, however I have such a deep connection with candles that that I feel as though I've made a ton of candles...the very thought alone brings me pure bliss...If I were to to win the kit this would allow me to quite literally make my very first candle.

Cannot find SP 487 wax anywhere. I tried SB 487 just in case but again..... nothing. The only thing I can find is the Soy Bliss. Is that what you were referring to? Also, would this combination also work better for tealights and 1 oz containers? thanks.
