dis.cover (Trailer)

dis.cover plays with the social construct of the female* and its associated archetypes.
Ariane juggles and moves. She also un.covers her Self - cloaking and revealing body parts: Sometimes fully exposing herself, in other moments escaping the prying eyes of the audience. Simona operates lights. Together they sing. Together they play with the gaze and perception of their audience, exploring their supposed femininity through movement, sound, emotion and light. Bit by bit, the audience dis.covers complex multilayered personalities full of conflict and paradoxes - two women with unexpected abilities, two voices that tell stories of stereotypisation and empowerment.
dis.cover is small, modest, calm, political and a little peculiar. It is also loud, angry, wild and demanding.
dis.cover examines questions about femininity, perception, beauty, sensuality, vulnerability, emotionality, empowerment and strength: we explore ourselves.
dis.cover - eine ZIRKUS.TANZ.PERFORMANCE für den neugierigen Blick.
Ariane Öchsner verhüllt und entblößt Körperteile und zeigt ebenso kunst- wie humorvoll geschlechtsspezifische Zuschreibungen auf. In einem wirbelnden Tanz aus Objektmanipulation und Stimme jongliert Ariane mit Vorurteilen. Unterstützt von der Lichttechnikerin und Sängerin Simona Kazakevičiūtė zeigt Ariane verschiedenste Facetten der Weiblichkeit*, schlüpft in diverse Kostüme und Körperlichkeiten und tanzt dem Patriarchat lustvoll auf der Nase herum.
Zeitgenössische Zirkuskunst trifft queer-feministischen Aktivismus und stellt leise Fragen und laute Forderungen an eine Welt, die Frauen* nicht einfach das sein lässt, was sie sein wollen.
