Appreciate the video and straight forward examinations without 30 minutes of 🐂💩 that has nothing to do with the car lol. My wife was takin out Micro Bully for a Vet check up and heard a semi loud pop. Lifted the hood and same the upper radiator hose closest to the steering pump popped off, she reattached it topped off with fluid then nursed it to the parts store for more fluid and got home fine no over heating but it was slightly over 210. Now while idling temp stays low 170-180(stock car) but the low fluid sensor does light up on the dash but the over flow is at proper level. Think I have air in the system I'll try and burp on the hill with a no spill funnel like you show here.
If it's a 98, there's a coolant sensor that is notorious for going bad, it's on the radiator, it will give that little red light on left side of gauge cluster
@@bestfromnw yea I just had it replaced bout a year ago, but with the amount of fluid everywhere and it took a whole fresh jug plus the partial I had in the back seat I'm thinkin there's air in the system and it needs to be burped since she just topped it on in the shop parking lot and cruised home. I haven't had to do anything to this car myself always taken to shops and it's been tbe kost reliable thing I've ever owned so have little experience with issues in this ole tank lol. Unlike my '11 STI daily driver that car's goofy with coolant burping sbe straight hides coolant for awhile then the levels rise back to fill again but never over heated once the weirdest damn thing you've ever seen 😂.
@@Jordan-ql6tm if it's still does it after your burp it, you can just unplug 5he sensor and the light will go away. There's a reason why they went away from that sensor in 00 and up
@@bestfromnw finally got around to burping the car, odd my fans didn't kick on & temp stopped rising around 190-195 (stock car). She did burp a bit of air not as much as I was expecting though. There was a light amount of black particulates in the green 50/50 pre-mix Peak coolant which is odd since I did just have a coolant flush done a couple thousand miles ago when that fluid level sensor was replaced.
Unlike cars of the 1940s and 50s these cars dn not have a mechanical cable actuated Shutoff valve in the heater hose to the heater core so the heater doesn't have to be on.
Just what do you have attached to that LS engine? Haven't seen anything quite like it before. I'm considering a blower on my '02 SS but do you have to lower the compression for them?
I just did my water pump 160 thermostat and new radiator when I go to fill my radiator to purge it it just goes crazy Temps hit 233 any advice ls1 1999 camaro
@@bestfromnw thank you I have a fan switch and I had to use the coolant purge tank u where using now they stay at 204 and back down to 178 I live in the desert where it gets to be 120 is 215 overheating it did not hit 215 but if it ever does.
@@bestfromnw yeah man thanks for the reply I was worried and read some forms but I never hits 220 it stays at 199 or 205 after the coolant system upgrade.
gonna do this tomm,,,nice video,,badass camaro,,i have a SS,,and a yota too,,,we are alike!!!!! awesome
Nice Camaro dude! And thanks for the informative video 🔥

I'm thinking, though, that this method replaces only the coolant in the radiator, nothing from the block and heater core.

Tried filling mine with that style funnel it just ended up overflowing the overflow bottle. Not sure what I did wrong
Nice 👍 I appreciate you
Thank you!

Vortech V2 supercharger at 10psi with liquid Intercooler. Didn't have to lower engine comp, just trim the hood. 530 whp on 91 octane
How to check the coolant level
How many jugs of distilled water did you use?
1 jug to 1 concentrate jug

Check if your fans are coming on, and thermostat isn't sticking

Ls engines can take some abuse, I'd say up to 230. With stock tube it should be running at 205-210
